Update: See the proprietor's response. What he did is definitely not "common sense matters". However, we do know now that it is to him. If you are unsure as to what is correct, go to any store that sells men's suits and ask. Better yet, just do a little google search. New suits (mine at least) have plackets long enough so when hemmed they will not look improper. Sewing them shut is simply incorrect and absolutely not a default choice. No one asked him to create new plackets with extra material. I did not ask him for a cheap option, and I told him to take his time. His dismissive response is misleading at best. When questioned the next day, he used measurements to try to convince me why he had no choice but to do what he did, but those numbers did not check out upon verification at home. Technicalities aside, look at the photos, and think of what other pitfalls you as a customer will need to foresee and avoid. I took the jackets to another alteration shop. As it turned out, Alex had cut out the fabric that was originally in the plackets so his mistake could not be reversed. Another unnecessary violation of a basic rule. The other new jacket, however, has been hemmed properly by her the first time, at a cost comparable to what AA+ charged for the improper and oversimplified job. read more

Complete crook. Unethical. Buyer beware. Took him 3 blazers on a Wednesday to be completed by Friday. I called Friday and he didn't have mu items ready. He told me he'd text me I advised that wasn't good enough I had to be at an event that day I needed an ETA. He said 3pm. Magically 30 mins later a quarter till 2 pm he texts me my items were done. I was shocked but happy. I made the mistake of paying him cash. He gives a discount for this. Please don't so this as I had no resource to dispute my transaction. My blazers were done so unprofessional. He basically hemed my blazers instead of doing an actual alteration. When I called him on it he tried to say I was lying etc. Karma comes dear and you will get yours. I just advise no one in this community to give him any business. Lol update he wrote a whole bit of nothing. The fact is he did not alter my items. He did a hem on my sleeves a very bad hem. On all of them. Charged me almost $300 bucks. Of course i sent you very ugly texts you're a crook, you did a terrible rush job and I will never come here or recommend your services. Wow! Blown away by the result and service. Alex is THE MAN! I brought 2 jackets and a pair of pants to him to see if the hype is justified... it definitely is! One jacket was recently made by a made-to-measure shop (Trio) and just didn't seem right. The guy at the shop told me that it was supposed to fit that way and not really knowing how to diagnose the fit problem, I smiled and went on my way. It did bother me and I remembered reading the reviews that others have posted so I brought it to Alex. In 2 minutes flat he diagnosed the problem and marked up the alterations. I have brought a pair of jeans and two suit pants here, and both times I have been very happy with the result. I've had three tapers done and they look great! I was in town to attend my niece's wedding. I had to purchase a new suit and I had clothing that I needed to have dry cleaned. I mistakenly called AA Cleaners & Alterations thinking it was the Dry Cleaners that my parents used. I called back a second time and said, " Do you do alterations?" The gentleman said," Yes." Having purchased the pants for my new suit I went to AA+Cleaners & Alterations. I met Alex who I spoke to on the phone. He said that my pants could be altered and finished the next day. They were ready on Thursday as promised, however the suit coat that I received from the store was the wrong size. The wedding was to take place on Saturday. I immediately returned the pants and purchased a new suit. By the time I had gotten the new suit AA+Cleaners & Alterations had closed. I returned with new suit on Friday morning. Found this place on Yelp. Had great reviews. Needed a prom dress hemmed for my daughter quickly. Alex was very nice and helpful. Promised me the dress in a week and delivered the same day. The price I thought was expensive but I was willing to pay to have it done right. I was impressed with how fast Alex did the job, however when I got the dress home and looked at how it was hemmed I was very disappointed! The workmanship was not professional. It looks like a teenager in home ec class practiced hemming it. It is crooked and uneven. Some of the stitches are too tight. I would have rather him take more time and do the job right then get it done so fast. Would not recommend for this type of work which is so unfortunate because I really wanted to support local businesses. read more
