They handled the repair professionally and I appreciated that they were so thorough. They offer mobile service (come to you) and I would have done that if I had known. Obviously, the weather plays a role in whether they can do the repair at your site instead of onsite at their location which is East of IL53/355 and North of IL64/North Ave.

Was going to bring it to Infiniti to get it fully assessed and fixed but the dealerships outsource this type of thing and I wanted to be sure it was done properly. Scouted around the Northshore looking for someone with a stellar rep and Windshield Pros is who kept coming up as the best rated so I figured I'd give them a try (Lombard). I called and explained the issue and the office manager could not have been more helpful and accommodating (she's definitely a credit to their operation). They squeezed me in 1st thing in the morning next day at their shop and the owner (I believe) himself handled things (personable, friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and by all accounts truly trustworthy). He brought me into the shop to explain a few issues after assessment and was able to fix it without needing to replace all of the expensive pieces necessary. I was fully prepared to replace everything and get a new windshield and new trim pieces but after working his magic it turned out to be unnecessary for the time being. Honest, quite knowledgeable, and very good at what they do (also had an opportunity to meet a couple other techs and they were equally savvy, friendly, and obviously knew their trade). The price was more than fair, imho, and frankly I can't think of any reason why I would go anywhere else in the future for any of our 4 vehicles. Iirc, it was Bill Simek who I dealt with and I can't recommend them enough. Thank you, the Lombard front office, and the friendly techs I met.

I set an appointment with a corporate auto glass replacement company. When they arrived at my house they informed me they couldn't replace my windshield because a custom light bar "might hurt their tools" and they didn't have a star allen wrench (????) I also waited 4 days for the appointment. I called a custom Jeep shop in the area who referred me to DnB Auto Glass. That was my lucky day. I called DnB and left a message. An hour later I was on the phone with the owner, Frank, who asked for 3 easy pieces of info (via text--yay, why can't all business figure out how to communicate via cell in 2024?), and 5 minutes later, after asking if I wanted factory or aftermarket glass, Frank said: when can you be here? 45 mins later, I was there. 40 minutes after that, I was back on the road home, new factory glass installed professionally and affordably. Frank and his wife were smart, funny, friendly, and efficient. Skip the corporate glass bozos. Call DnB. Frank made my week a whole lot better, a whole lot faster than I imagined possible. I can't recommend this local business enough. Amazing experience all around.

Damn it, new car!! I was referred to DnB by a family friend who is an insurance agent and the owner helped me contact the right claims number, helped get the factory glass replaced with factory glass and accommodated my schedule. The work was done perfectly (I am posting this a few weeks later to make sure there aren't any cracks or glue or scratches). I also had my windows tinted and they are perfect. Thanks Frank!

After checking in, the technician told me they needed to run system checks on my car before starting. He later came back and said a code came up, and they could not proceed with the replacement, and that I would need to contact my dealership first. When I asked what exactly I needed to tell the dealership, he said he couldn't remember off the top of his head but would send me the information. Four hours later, I still never received anything. When I went back out to my car, I noticed a second large crack, separate from the original one, on the driver's side of my windshield, which was not there when I arrived and walked into the building. I went back inside to inform the receptionist. While I understand that cold temperatures can contribute to cracks, this was not there when I got out of my car, and I was not informed about it at any point while the technician had my vehicle. While the windshield was already cracked and needed replacing anyway, it was extremely frustrating that this new crack was never mentioned to me. The receptionist told me I would be "fine to drive," but again could not explain what I needed to have done at the dealership and said it would be sent to me (which never happened). I then called my dealership myself, and they had no idea what Safelite was referring to. They told me codes are typically addressed after replacement and calibration, not before. Overall, this was a very poor experience with a lack of communication, unclear explanations, and an additional crack that was not acknowledged. I will be going to a different company for my windshield replacement.

After diagnosing the issue, they told me that a piece of weatherstripping around the sunroof had come loose, allowing water to leak into the car. The moisture had begun corroding the wiring connection for the rear passenger light. Whenever that light flickered or went out, it caused a chain reaction that affected other features, including the auto wipers. The dealership's proposed solution was extreme: they recommended replacing the wiring harness and light assembly, installing new weatherstripping, and even putting in a brand-new headliner. Their estimate? Just over $6,000 before tax. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion and brought my SUV to Addison Body Shop and Glass. The owner, Mike, took a careful look and immediately reassured me that most of the dealership's recommendations were unnecessary. Instead of replacing parts, he reattached the weatherstripping, cleaned the light and its connections, and carefully treated the minor water stains on the headliner. By the time he was finished, everything was working perfectly--and the headliner looks spotless. The difference in cost was night and day. Addison charged me only a fraction of the dealership's quote, and the work was completed quickly and professionally. Mike was upfront, honest, and clearly more interested in fixing the actual problem than in padding the bill with unnecessary replacements. I left feeling relieved and extremely grateful. Addison Body Shop and Glass saved me thousands of dollars, restored my SUV to perfect condition, and proved that there are still shops out there that value honesty and quality workmanship. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
