This is a predatory towing service that needs to be shut down by the city of Azusa or the State for its malpractice. My family member's vehicle was picked up from a private property, which we noticed took placed a few minutes after the tow truck left the area. The business was contacted, and we were informed that the impound fee would cost $610.00, and it needed to be paid in cash. Once at the location, the signage on the business's wall states that credit card payments are allowed, yet the white female employee informed us that the "machine was broken" and that the business was already closed and there was nothing she could do about it. It's illegal for this type of business to not accept credit card payments. As Yelp posts on here have already mentioned, this seems to be a predatory tactic to make victims pay the absorbent amount in cash. A storage fee was charged, yet we had already informed the employee we were en route to pick up the vehicle, when the vehicle had not even been dropped off at the lot. This all took place in a span of an hour, and we needed to pay $610.00 for the vehicle to be returned to us. This towing company is by far the most unprofessional and suspicious business I have ever dealt with. It is truly shocking that they are still in operation. First, they initially claimed their card machine was "broken" and insisted that I pay in cash. My friend, who knows his rights, spoke to them on the phone and firmly stated that they are legally required to accept card payments. After some back-and-forth, they suddenly allowed me to pay by card, which made the situation feel even more suspicious. Second, my car was towed from my parents' apartment complex, The Villas at Rowland Heights, yet it was taken nearly 20 miles away to this specific towing company. There is a towing company right next to the apartment complex, yet for some reason, the management chose to work with this particular business instead. Very weird. Third, they required me to set an appointment to pick up my car, which already seemed unnecessary, but then they added an absurd policy--if I missed the appointment, they would charge me an extra $90, in addition to a $70 storage fee for each additional day. I understand storage fees if a car is left for an extended period, but a $90 penalty just for missing an appointment to retrieve my own car is beyond unreasonable. She didn't even provide us any locations or contact! We were scared because we had valuables on that car so we called back, saying that we will call the police if she does not confirm if our car is there. This place is fraud, short and simple. The car was damaged when being towed; however, to get your car, you must sign a document stating the car was returned in acceptable condition. They will not adjust the wording of the form. They will keep your car and force you to sign the waiver (even if they know they damaged it.) This makes it hard to file a claim. Owner is disrespectful and just want money (don't even try with her.) I recommend taking photos of your car, send them an email (if you can find one) and take it up with small claims. From my experience ask too read the contract on file with the housing,apts its towed from. Sometimes there or an expired licensed tow truck driver or contract. The police officers acknowledge that as well.
