They had room for two bars, multiple tables (which sat about 150 people), space for a band and a dance floor. It's definitely a venue to check out for hosting events, weddings, luncheons, parties, etc. We didn't handle any of the planning or coordination for the party but everything seemed to be going smoothly. At first it seemed a bit silly to hire a wedding planner because I thought how hard can wedding planning be? Well, I quickly realized it is overwhelming, stressful, hectic, and things change so often! Time and time again I would tell my husband how glad I was we had decided to hire Treasured Heart Events. I was fortunate enough to work with Ashlee and she was AMAZING from start to finish. :) I still remember our first phone meeting with her. I expressed all of our concerns with budget, guest count, and so on, and Ashlee listened and addressed all of my concerns. After our conversation, she sent over affordable package options. We decided to pick the month of and design. Ashlee created a design board for us and a budget list (not part of our package). She consistently answered emails in a timely manner and was so helpful! As we all know COVID has been around since March and we unfortunately still had to deal with it in July! There were SEVERAL times I would panic and want to stress cry, but I would send Ashlee an email instead and she would seriously just make EVERYTHING better! It was so nice having someone being positive during such negative times. Well, fast-forward to the month of the wedding and Ashlee, again, on top of things and handling all of the frequent changes with exceptional professionalism. The day of the wedding went so smooth thanks to her and her team. You would not believe how organized, prepared, and helpful her team was! From making sure the decorations were set at the right place to providing eye lash glue, they were ready for it! If you're looking for a wedding planner and don't know if it's for you, JUST DO IT! lol! There are so many things you don't think of, but they do and it helps you enjoy your day more. She coordinated all of our vendor and day of logistics starting one month before our wedding and was incredibly helpful and a delight to work with. Because of Katie, Steve and I were able to focus on enjoying our wedding day and everything that truly matters at the end of the day. We met Katie about 6 months before our wedding to discuss her services and she was absolutely wonderful from the start. About a month and a half before our wedding Katie had us fill out an incredibly detailed questionnaire which she used to execute everything from coordinating vendors and logistics prior to our wedding day and run our big day. Shortly after I filled out the questionnaire Katie met our venue representative and I to go over all of the logistics of the day and the information she gathered from us was so helpful during that meeting. I was so grateful to have Katie at that meeting because she helped me answer questions and think of things that I would never think of on my own. She is extremely organized and made everything that we dreamed of happen. Katie was a huge part of making our special day run so smooth and I am so grateful for her. I can sit here and tell you how a great planner Katie is because I can always count on her to keep…read morethe cool. Planning a wedding and all the events that lead up to it can be a pretty anxious period and she will be there to keep it together when things sometimes do not go the way its supposed to. But any planner can do that. What set her apart for me is her personality. We've had a meeting stretch to four hours and it didn't even seem like it. We got to talking about mediocre djs, dumplings, and single men. Lol. She is like a friend you can talk to instead of someone you hired. Also, and this is crucial, she will make things happen. In the realm of possibility, of course. :D I told her I was thinking of having lanterns. And voila, not only did she get lanterns, she got them for cheap and she painted them herself! I was also flip-flopping whether I should get drapery, the cost was what was holding me back. And poof, she scored me some inexpensive once-used drapery. She is resourceful and that is something I truly appreciate. I am so glad to have met Katie, and have her guide me in the all too crazy experience of planning a wedding!

So I had my wedding here recently. The venue is beautiful, I would recommend the church inside it…read moreis so pretty and has a nice homey feel. If you are going to have a small wedding this is an amazing affordable option for you. The only issue I had was not getting everything in writing, so make sure you specifically get everything in writing so you can look back on it if there are any miscommunications. We were told we would have a rehearsal the Friday before the wedding (the wedding was on the following sunday). We were also told we could decorate after the rehearsal was over because no one was going to be in the room. On friday we called to confirm the time which was 7pm. They said they did not have a rehearsal scheduled for us and that we could not come to decorate because Firemen were having a meeting in there at the time. This was the first thing I wished I had in writing, because I know we had confirmed for that previously. After this we had to arrange for everyone to come in early on Sunday so we could still decorate and do a quick rehearsal. When we were going over the contract Royal who is their event planner said that we could stay until 8pm. When we got there suddenly it had changed to 7. He ended up later allowing us to stay until 7:30 because I think he realized he had messed a few things up for us with the rehearsal and all. We were also told by him that he had a bar tender for us and 2 servers. He ended up being the bar tender and we only ended up having one server. All and all it all worked out in the end. The decor was beautiful in the church. I was pretty relaxed for a bride so I didn't have a huge freakout or anything, but I am sure some people in the same situation would. If you are looking for a nice venue, with affordable accommodations where you have a lot of availability to provide your own things such as decor, music, food, alcohol ect. this is a good place for you. Just please do not make my mistake, whatever they offer you get it in writing! We are also pretty sure we paid the bar tender fee twice because during the contract signing we had paid for everything we agreed to, then once the wedding was wrapping up my husband was told he didn't pay the 150 bar tender fee. Side note, check their hours because it was hard to reach them over the phone when we needed something. We had to call multiple times to even schedule to make payment for our wedding.

Janay stepped in and all the worries I originally had were quickly addressed and sorted. She even saved the day when my florist (that had been booked through the original wedding planning company but had confirmed the drop-off date and time with FunkyTown Affairs) didn't show up on the day of my wedding. My wedding was in downtown Plano, and Janay quickly jumped in her car and drove to downtown Dallas, where the florist was for another wedding. Janay managed to get bouquets for myself and my bridesmaids to walk down the aisle with. Although the flowers weren't what I had booked/paid for, the fact that Janay was able to get something in our hands for the walk down the aisle meant the world to me. All I can say is that if you're looking for a coordinator in the Dallas or Fort Worth area, you shouldn't look anywhere other than FunkyTown Affairs! They are professional and remove any stress that often comes with a big event.
