What a great day trip adventure. The ride from Atlanta was about an hour and a half and you arrive…read morein the quaint city of Blue Ridge. You pick up your prepaid tickets at the window and board the train on the assigned car. We had premier tickets which include a souvenir picture and bag and also a charcuterie snack along with comfy seats in one of the train cars. We then took an hour ride up to McCaysville, GA that abuts Cooperhill, TN. There is a great spot right along Main Street where you can take pictures right on the GA/TN line. There is a two hour window where you can sightsee and grab a meal. Ms. Eleanor our host for the trip was fantastic and treated us like family. She knew all the facts and history of the area and gave us great suggestions on places to visit. This was a great day trip and we even spent some time wandering the shops in Blue Ridge before heading back to the metro.
