Bear came with us and was the perfect pup just chilling and loving all of the attention! The service was great we went to the counter and ordered our drinks. My kiddo even got to have a blue raspberry slushie which made her night she ended up with blue lips and teeth too! They also have a gift shop full of adorable merchandise: cups with the bear claw logo etched on (I got a wine cup lol! ) , cork bracelets (we got two), dog clothes, goat milk soap, t shirts etc. They have lots of seating options indoor tables as well as lots of tables with little fire pits outside and lots of games. On the weekends, they have live music. When we visited artist Russ Stills was there. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. He even came around the audience meeting and greeting with each table and taking requests. This is a fantastic spot to grab a drink and listen to good music and take in the beauty of the vineyard. 10 out of 10 for sure!

Walking into 34th Degree Wine Merchant is refreshing. The space is lightly decorated and stocked with goods and gifts up front that sit on and around the gorgeous fireplace. You continue through and are quickly greeted with racks and shelves of wine from floor to ceiling. While you are taking it all in, Emily is quick to greet you! Given our novice nature with wine, we told Emily what we were in to, which was Pinot Grigio for me and Red wine for him. She knew exactly what to recommend and it was delicious! While it was not a local wine, which we were originally after, her recommendation and story behind the bottle we got made it too good not to get! No regrets! Although the setting is admittedly spectacular, acres of hilly vineyards with views of the mountain behind, and the patio was certainly fancy, the tables each with fire pits in the center providing cheery warmth, the tasting experience itself was sub-par and overpriced. It lacked the authentic feel I've seen in other wineries and seems more of a tourist destination. First thing I noticed is the shockingly high tasting fee of $35 for a flight of 4 2-ounce pours of their choice. No substitutions allowed! Either these are some spectacularly great wines or this is a major rip-off. I passed. But since I was here I decided to have a glass. I got one of their estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. It was around $16 but since I was here. It was good, but certainly not worth the $48 they charge for a bottle. For the $35 do you get individual attention, descriptions from the bartender about the wines and about their winery? No. You get 4 labeled glasses to take back to your table. Not worth it. Find another place less touristy, more authentic. That shouldn't be hard. There are like 65 wineries in the area!

There was live music inside, creating a cool and relaxed atmosphere, and everyone we met was incredibly kind. My wife mentioned that her favorite wines are Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc, and the staff immediately offered her two great options to taste. She ended up choosing the Sauvignon Blanc and enjoyed every sip. We sat outside under the covered area along the building and took in the beautiful view of the vines -- such a peaceful setting and perfect for entertaining or just unwinding. Although we saw a food truck on the way in, we didn't try it, but we did notice a family enjoying a picnic, which was a nice touch since you can bring your own food.

There wasn't one wine that stood out from the rest but loved that a flight of 1 oz pours of 4 different wines of our choice was only $10 (may have increased since our visit in the fall a couple years ago). But definitely recommend as a stop if you're in Ellijay checking out wineries!

A stunning vineyard with unforgettable views -- our favorite stop of the day…read more This was me and my wife's favorite stop on our July 4th vineyard hop. We arrived right when they opened, and the first thing we noticed was how modern, open, and beautiful the main building is. The ambiance inside is warm and inviting, and the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains are absolutely breathtaking from every angle. The patio is huge -- two levels of seating with umbrellas -- plus another outdoor area and bar near the food truck. Honestly, we could have sat out there all day just soaking in the scenery. It's the kind of place that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. We had reservations in the dining room, which was elegant and refined, very much in line with the Roost Bistro's upscale atmosphere. The food, however, was just okay for us. My wife's seafood pasta was a bit bland, and my short rib was lukewarm and needed more seasoning. Not bad -- just not as impressive as the setting. We ordered additional wine in the beautiful open tasting room, which is separate from the dining tab. Our total came to $118. Even with the food being average, the wine, the views, and the overall experience were wonderful. Next time, we'll probably skip the dining room and opt for wine and the food truck instead -- enjoy the mountain backdrop and make a full afternoon of it. Roo Mountain is absolutely a place we'll be returning to.
