We used San Diego Moving & Packing for a local move and had a great experience…read more I went in with a goal of keeping it close to three hours. We didn't quite hit that, but at no point did it feel like anyone was wasting time. The crew hustled the entire job. They listened to how I wanted to prioritize the move. We focused on large furniture first, got all the key items handled, then worked through the rest. Communication was constant. They asked questions, followed direction, and adjusted quickly without any pushback. The team was professional the whole time. No hesitation, even with heavy items or sending things upstairs. Everything was wrapped appropriately, not overdone, just done right. Nothing was damaged, and they were careful with walls and flooring throughout. We had discussed heavier items and drive time ahead of time, and everything was handled fairly. No surprises. I also compared pricing beforehand, and their rate of $199/hour (cash) plus the $60 truck fee was in line with what I was seeing. We ended up at about 3 hours 45 minutes total and paid $825, which felt great for the level of effort and coordination involved. Every move is different, but there were no surprises. Vladimir, Dima, Greg, and Aibek were a great team. They worked hard, communicated well, and stayed professional throughout. Overall, a hardworking, professional crew that provides solid value and takes care of your belongings. I would definitely recommend them.

I had "ProMen" booked for a job moving a tenant of 13+ years, which had already been a difficult…read moretransition for all involved. Booking asked a few questions about number of rooms, location, and kind of stuff to be moved, that part was a fairly easy process. They had given me a reasonable quote for a 4 man job loading and moving to the new place less than 6 miles away, When I got there, I was a few minutes behind them but I wasn't the person who's house they were moving and the resident who was moving were home when the "Promen" arrived and had let them in... I was later than them arriving (15 minutes behind them arriving, max) due to the freeway being closed. But again, it wasn't my home and I wasn't the one moving. One guy, (neither introduced themselves) had looked around, the other was too scared of the dog to even approach the front door and asked if we could secure it. I was never asked if there was a dog, so I assumed it wasn't going to be any issue, but we quickly put the dog in a separate room. When the dog was secured, he too, looked around at the place at the boxes that were already 90% packed and the nearly empty rooms, and said it was too "dirty" and there was a "bad smell" (13 + years of dog) and then mumbled that they were cancelling the job, and then just walked away. No one asked them to clean anything just move the boxes and furniture! Glad I hadn't been asked for a deposit because they never reached out beyond the boss' call to cancel without any further explanation. I was disappointed and had the suspicion that the dog was the crux of the issue. It was odd in my experience for a mover to have that big of an issue with one medium sized, well behaved, dog. Not at all "pro" any way you look at it. IF the presence of dog is a dealbreaker, whether or not there is a dog, should definitely be in their preliminary booking questionnaire. If they had underbid the initial request, (since the bid was sight unseen) then tell the client that, and offer a more realistic bid based on the new assessment of things. People aren't unreasonable usually. Professionals don't just walk away from a gig like moving someone's whole life while standing on the property, the day of the move! So very disappointing and completely unprofessional. I then booked with a great, very helpful company called Packing Bees moving, who had the job done in less than 4 hours, no complaints, no insults, just help. Don't book "ProMen", they are not what their name claims and they might leave you high and dry.

No where did the conversation say the price agreed upon was for cash only but apparently now it is. Day of at end of move, the price changed. Even though I double checked with them about pricing multiple times. After the move I simply asked for an itemized receipt or breakdown of pricing bc it wasn't adding up correctly for the amount of time and price agreed upon. NEVER got that btw. The ONE and only request i made again was for carpet protection bc i had just cleaned our carpets at the new place but they didn't come prepared for that despite making sure. That's the second time. Your service will depend on whoever they hired to help you. One of my items was damaged (not that severe but just letting you guys know and no compensation or anything). This team wasn't as efficient as the last two people hired. No sense of urgency, always asking for water (which i gave), disappearing for some time or on call. It was to a point where I stepped in to help do whatever i can which I believe defeats the purpose of hiring people. Although overall, the move was completed. The person communicating with me was going to have the small refund that i never got be taken out of the mover's pockets also btw. Never heard that of a business and I never asked of that nor do i respect it. i've tried communicating with them, giving a month to resolve this but was given snarky responses, attitude and being left on read. I'd look elsewhere for a more professional team. I can't believe the responses I was given and how this was handled.

In comparison to many other companies I spoke with, they had the best pricing, the kindest and most thorough responses to my questions, straight forward pricing, had the minimum of 3 hours we needed and a large 26/27 foot truck. They showed up, got right to work and wrapped all the fragile items and got them ready to stay in long term storage. They were super friendly, clean, smart and strategic and very careful with all items. I recommend them to anyone looking for movers in the area. I will definitely be using their services again on my next move. 5 star service!
