Pass on this Salon - The owner is rude and acted like the 4 of us were an imposition. Prices are 30-40% higher than anywhere else in Ann Arbor and they charge an additional $10 each for removing gel or dips, as well as for feet requiring extra work! The dips were uneven and badly shaped. There are plenty of other better choices in Ann Arbor. read more

I had a great experience here, Paul will keep a fun conversation going with you while you get your nails done and Linda does an amazing job shaping your nails to the exact shape and length you want them. A2 has an amazing atmosphere and they'll ask if you would like some water while you're waiting which I thought was very cool. They'll even ask what type of music you want them to listen to. Hands down the best place I've been to and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get a quality job done. read more

I got such an amazing mani/pedi from Paul! It took about 2 hours, which was a long time, but he was very meticulous and my nails came out flawless. Shellac mani and regular pedi $59. Very reasonable! The salon is very clean and chic! Everyone was very nice and helpful. I was helped right away! read more

This is one of the best gel manicures I've received. I'm happy with how close the tech was able to get to the edges, and the job didn't feel at all rushed. My nails grow quickly, so I appreciate when techs take the time to get close to the cuticle. It's only been a few hours, but they seem to hold up well. They're perfectly smooth even after my finger got caught in a zipper. I think it's reasonably priced at $30. I originally planned for dip, but thought it was a pricey job starting at $45. Happy I went for the gel and will definitely return! read more

A2 Nails Spa - Gel - Nail Salons Near Me - Ann Arbor, Michigan

One of the worst experiences at a nail salon in years. I was in town visiting my family and needed a mani/pedi for the holidays when I found this salon on Yelp. Despite Yelp reviews, they had a lot of google reviews, so I decided to check them out anyways. Unless you have a reservation to see anyone mentioned repeatedly in Yelp reviews, I suggest to turn around and walk out if you're paired with the short Asian guy with spiky hair. He was terrible! I usually request men to do my pedi's as they are stronger and usually get in there especially around my calluses. When he finished with my pedi, my heels were still rough to the touch and he didn't even file my calluses down as he kept telling me that it would be too much although I know what I get every 2 weeks and exactly how it's done. On to the mani...I had Dip applied at my previous appointment and when he wrapped my hands with acetone and foil, he told me "ok, one hour"..what?! It only takes 15-20 minutes to remove Dip or Gel. You let the nails sit, remove what you can with the cuticle pusher, rewrap nails and then after 5 minutes, you're able to scrap away the remaining polish. My nail tech, same guy who did my pedi, decided to take the lazy route and use the drill after letting them soak for 10 minutes. Not only was it a mess, but the drill does a lot of damage to your nails. read more

Feels very safe, only 2 people in at a time, temperature checks, and very spaced out. I got a pedicure with Mimi and she was great!

A long time ago, I gave up trying to find a nail salon that I would like. Every time I tried a new place, I walked away unsatisfied. But unfortunately for me and my terrible nail beds (chronic nail/cuticle biter over here), I have several big events coming up that I needed to get my nails done for. Reluctantly, I began to look for a new place to try. I ended up asking a girl in one of my classes (whose nails always look good) and she recommended A2. On a whim, I made an appointment. I'm so glad I did. I walked away completely satisfied from my shellac manicure with a burning desire to go back until I have to move away from Ann Arbor. The people who run this place are friendly, attentive, and dedicated to their work. Consistently, my manicurist, Paul, asked me if I was doing okay. I heard the girls next to me raving about Linda who was doing their acrylic/dip manicure as well. He cut my cuticles so gently and with so much precision that I didn't even bleed (which normally happens). My natural nails are so beautiful that for the first time in my life, I'm not embarrassed about my hands. You need to make an appointment because they don't have as many people working as some of the bigger salons in town, but it is SO worth it. Their attention to detail and patience is so wonderful. Thank you thank you thank you, a thousand times over to these wonderful people! read more

I came in for a fill-in, there was no on there. My nails have never looked so poorly, they weren't buffed down; also, when the technician asked how I wanted my nails shaped, I said square, my nail shape was completely changed and rounded. I chose French tips, that also was done poorly, just a white strip straight across. I would never go back. read more

I went to A2 for the first time to try dip nails. Over an hour and $65 later, I had the finished result. I could tell it was a bad job because the paint was already spilling over my nails. The top coat started flaking off almost immediately. They ruined my nails and it was a waste of money. read more

I called at 4 PM on a Tuesday asking if they had any availability and they got me in immediately for a pedicure and they were so nice and very clean! Paul is the one who gave me my pedicure and not only is he hilarious, but he did an amazing job! I did gel and it might be my favorite pedicure I've ever had! "Never lie" :) read more

I was so glad to find this place. My feet needed some serious loving. A2Nail Spa didn't disappoint. The place was super clean. I got myself a pedicure that made my feet feel refreshed and look flawless. I definitely would recommend this place, but more importantly I'll be back!!! read more

My test for any new nail salon is the classic mani pedi. This place has a great selection of colors and is very clean as a lot of reviewers mentioned, however service seems inconsistent and there are some concerning practices. Jada did my pedicure and she was lovely. For the price you pay for a "basic" pedicure you really get a good amount of extras, especially the hot stone massage! One of my ankles was hurt and Jada was also very careful to work around it. In comparison, Linda seemed rushed with my manicure and was less friendly. The polish was slightly messy around my cuticles and she did not seal the edges of my nails so I suspect chipping will happen more easily. The real reason I would not come back to A2 nail salon is because I noticed that they reuse nail files and scrubbing sponges for the pedicures. I asked for a new file and Jada was very accommodating about it, but still those tools should be one time use only. Linda also added a solution to the nail polish in front of me, watering it down. It's a shame because the prices and Jada's work were both excellent! read more

I can't speak for the quality of their service since I was basically kicked out after walking out to take a 10 second phone call. I came back in and the extremely nasty woman at the front pointed to her computer screen and told me she'd filled my spot since I "had left." I'm not sure who she filled my spot with, there was no one else there except a nail tech eating at her table. I gladly left and went to BeeQ Salon down the street where I was treated professionally and kindly, not like trash as I received at this awful nail spa. Would not encourage anyone to go here. read more

Very clean, nice relaxing music and lots of beautiful orchids! The person who did my nails was abrupt and trimmed my cuticles roughly.

I loved my experience here! I moved from Chicago about a month ago and have been searching for a good nail salon that wouldn't break the bank and A2 is it. Paul did an amazing job and he really made my experience here wonderful. My nails look amazing and I left feeling great. Thank you, Paul! read more

Update - Almost a year later, and I'm still coming here. Paul even remembers me, and when I complained about being hungry (since my appt was around 6 and I was ready for dinner), him and all the other salon staff pitched in to feed me with crackers, fruit snacks, and whatever they had! This place is amazing! I desperately needed a pedicure and a new nail salon now that I live here. I had to work late and ended up here purely for their later hours - they're open until 8. This was honestly one of the best pedicures I've ever had - and I've been to nail salons that have free alcohol. We had to wait about 15 minutes since we didn't have an appointment, and during that time, we got to pick from a HUGE selection of nail colors. I liked that they had multiple different brands, not just Essie or OPI. My BASIC pedicure included foot scrub, lotion, hot stone rub, and basically everything that most salons upcharge you for. All for $28. ONLY $28. I can only imagine what's included in their deluxe pedicure. The color turned out fantastic and I felt so relaxed - Paul did a great job. Speaking of. Paul, my nail tech, was absolutely fantastic. He was chatting with me the whole time (except at one point, where he was massaging my legs and said "no talking. You relax now"). He got me a bottle of water, was showing me pictures of his dogs, and just about he friendliest person I've ever met. He was easy to talk to and joking around, and when I left, he said he would see me in a year (since I said I wouldn't be back until January likely, hahaha). This salon may be new, but I have no doubt it'll fill up fast. Glad I found this gem! read more

Nails turned out nice, but service was not great. We were scheduled for manicures at 5, but didn't get sat down until 5:40 because they were running behind. The nail tech left me waiting multiple times while she went to work on two other people. My friend and I had shellac done, and both of us experienced burning around our nails under the UV light. Not sure if the setting was too high, but I've never felt that before. Overall just a poor experience - probably won't be going back. read more

It was a really nice man who started my nails but the lady who finished mine was much less nice and charged $10 over what the sign said. Auto gratuity maybe? But I feel like that should be clarified because I was clearly pretty confused and wasn't sure what to tip. read more

The technicians were very kind, the environment is very calming, salon is clean. I got a dip powder manicure and I do not recommend it. I came here due to the positive reviews, but my dip manicure has not been good quality- uneven, not smooth, sloppy, and top coat has peeled off within the first week. I went and got this fixed and they were kind enough to fix it for me for free, but a few days later it happened again. Also many of the nails are lifting. I think this salon is probably really great at other types of manicures, but I don't recommend getting dip. read more

This place is the worst. DO NOT GO HERE! First, I called ahead and made an appointment for 10:00, but when I showed up, it was clear there was no appointment. I waited for 30 minutes until being taken to a table for a gel manicure. I asked for oval shape and to keep my length. The manicurist shaped them to an almond shape, which I didn't have the length for, so they looked like weird pointy claws. Then the gel polish was painted on with a jagged edge down at the cuticle, and not at all symmetrical. Some nails didn't even have polish on the sides so they looked terrible. At least 4 nails had gel polish actually over the cuticle. My nails looked like they were painted by a 10 year old. Then everything started peeling three days later, my cuticles began splitting and tearing. DO NOT GO HERE. How does this place have anything more than two stars? Just throw $50 in the toilet, flush, then ask your neice to paint your nails. That will save you some time for the exact same result. read more

For sure one of the strangest service experiences I've had. My friend and I got in right away with a phone call on Memorial Day for a mani/pedi. The woman who 'greeted' us immediately seemed annoyed that we came, yet there were no other customers. At the start of our pedicures another client came in wanting something done and once she started asking questions about her nails the woman said 'we don't have time for you, come again.' She had similar reactions when other people would call on the phone asking for services. After she did a horrible job on my friend's french tips and destroyed her nail beds we decided to bail and not get the manicures. The woman seemed happy we were only doing pedis and said 'go somewhere cheaper' when pricing had not even been discussed and we had not complained (their prices are very typical for the area in fact). The man who did my pedicure was very nice, did a good job, and was gentle so I feel bad leaving a poor review but if they are going to act annoyed to have customers on a holiday, maybe they shouldn't open for it. read more

I got a dip manicure, which I've gotten countless times elsewhere and they did it differently here. They only did two rounds of dip and the topped with gel. I didn't think to much of it but it's been 5 days since I got it done and the gel is falling off and the manicure is totally ruined. I've also NEVER paid $71 for this service before and it was way overpriced considering I'm not even a week in and it's falling apart. Would not recommend read more

I have not had my nails done in several years and was not sure about the different options. Linda explained to me the different options and had me also talk to another guest. The people who did our nails were really nice but.... it was an ok mani/pedi, way overpriced, and while I started right at our appointment time, my daughter didn't even start her pedicure until 40 minutes after out appointment time. So here we are 2 hours later, still waiting to finish and likely to miss our dinner reservation that they insisted we'd have time to make. Update: on the way out the door, the woman with the long hair told me she had no control over the price (I didn't argue the price, I asked if my daughter could come back tomorrow for her manicure because I had already paid for it). She told me they couldn't take care of their customers in 5 minutes - note that we were here for more than 2 hours - and if I didn't like it, I could go somewhere else. Thanks ma'am. I'll do just that and suggest that everyone else does too. read more

This place literally made my wedding amazing. I booked time for six of us to come in the day before the wedding, and the salon was so nice and right on time. Everyone was taken care of, and they even let us drink champagne in the store. Paul did my nails, which was SO helpful, as he recommended a color based on a picture I showed him and they turned out AMAZING. Highly highly recommend this place, so friendly, very good quality work and they make you feel like they actually care. Brides - look no further read more

Price gouging. I went in a few weeks ago for a pedicure after struggling to get an appointment. I waited for an appointment instead of going somewhere else because I have always felt that this nail salon does a better job than others in the area. They did a fine job but all of the prices on the board have been taped over and significantly increased. $50 for a pedicure and nothing else?! I understand that businesses have been struggling to find and keep employees but I have been to this salon many times. There were three people working, it's a small place. I have never seen more than three people working there including the owner. read more

Dropped in for a pedicure and was I pleasantly surprised! Paul did the most AMAZING job. My feet have never been so incredibly soft and the polish is spot on.
