I arrived post closing with a mini-van full of 10 small plastic bins of documents to shred. The owner was so kind to come out of his office to take a look at my stash. I told him that I was cleaning out my late sister's home and lived out of town. He was so kind and said he will shred my papers so I wouldn't have to return the next day. He put everything in a huge garbage bin that locked. It was completely full. He said he would shred everything next morning when his shredding machines are on. I came here based on all the great Yelp reviews. I showed up without an appointment at 3:30pm. You can pull into their driveway area. The two men working there were very friendly. I gave a big plastic bin to one man who took it away and I watched on a surveillance TV while he loaded the papers on to a conveyor belt that presumably goes to a shredder. Three minutes later I used my Yelp coupon to get my first shred for free but it only would have cost $5. Years of sensitive documents off my hands and I'm so relieved, especially because I know that next time I won't procrastinate now that I know how easy it is. Quick and painless! read more

After reading these good yelp reviews, I decided to bring a car full of boxes and loose old files to A1 Shredding. The proprietor was so helpful and took my boxes while I filled a bin he supplied me with my loose items (which I wanted to load myself). He carried everything for me and I watched it all get shredded. It was $80 which is an amazing value for everything I had. These guys are an absolute godsend for us individual types who need to dispose of decades worth of sensitive personal documents. Walk-ins are welcome so I simply drove over to their facility and up to the unloading bay where I was Immediately greeted by an employee with a dolly. My two large and very full black garbage bags where wheeled in and 10 minutes later I was finally free of 30+ years of old files. You can watch the process on a monitor located in the unloading bay. For the unbelievable cost of $10, I'll never have to haul these damned things again whenever I move. We all know what a ball 'n chain these files can be and to be finally rid of them is nothing short of glorious. I had to shred documents for my boss and I tried calling to see if I needed an appointment or any extra paperwork or signed stuff etc - but they weren't able to get to my call so I just decided to go anyway because all the reviews here were glowing about walk ups being totally cool. the gentleman in front of me was quite old and the employee was so sweet and patient with him. like everyone else said I had 2 banker box sized boxes (maybe a bit bigger) and it was $5 a box - cash only I think? I was cleaning my house and throwing away junk. For the last few years I've accumulated 3 trash bag full of junk mail, bills, pay check (old jobs), and other documents. I went to yelp hoping that there is a place that can shred all this junk. I found A1...went there, no line at all. Don't have to wait for other people to finish. Loaded the cart, filled out the form, sat down for less than 5 minutes. Then I'm out. The service was fast and efficient but the only thing is, the size of the shredded papers/ documents are in strips instead of confetti, that's the only bad thing. But hoping that all of the papers mix together would keep it safe enough. I don't think people will find time to go through that pile and tape together strips of documents...I hope not. read more

A little difficult to find. It's behind what looks to be a mechanic shop. But you are able to drive right up the entrance to unload. The staff member met me and introduced himself immediately. Very pleasant experience and very straight forward as to the cost. I thought the TV monitor placed at the entrance so I could watch the shredding process was a great value added touch. It's great to know that any sensitive information is being disposed of securely and immediately right in front of my eyes. I run a small medical practice since 2006.. I've had boxes of medical charts since that time.. yes ! We still have charts . But I need to dispose sensitive healthcare information .. at least 7 years worth. Yesterday was the day! Went to yelp and read about A1 shredding! Called once - spoke to Vil.. he scheduled a truck to come to my office and picked up 7 bankers boxes .. and then I hauled 4 huge plastic bins of loose old bills and old checkbooks and bank statements.. No call no email did not receive anything! No courtesy call to even reschedule or apologize not not coming!
