PARKING: There's parking! SEATING: About 3 seats outside and some inside the office, but I think the inside seats belong to AWCollision. SERVICE: Great service! Called around yesterday morning to get an early-ish appointment at 10:30AM. Got here promptly and wait outside for a bit. There's a coffee shop around the corner. The service overall was $68. Thanks so much Dave! OVERALL: A reliable place to get a smog check and would come back to a friendly place with a friendly face! read more

Another year, another smog check. Came here for the second time and happy I did. This place is open on the weekends which is very convenient as having time during the week can be tough. Inside waiting area was closed on Sundays but that was okay as the weather was nice. They are quick and got the job done and the attendant was a gentleman with both me and my car. Star certified station. Pricing is fair. Plus, there's ice cream/frozen yogurt within walking distance. read more

I needed my smog check last minute on a Sunday and I called A1. They squeezed me in between appointments. The guy that helped me was super nice and informative. I only waited 45 minutes without having an appointment! Not bad! I would definitely come back for my next smog check! read more

was not gonna give 0 stars, who wastes time doing that? but, i see now so many 1* reviews so time to do same. David Gregor was rude c/n care less about me - showed @appt time but ignored for 10' - c/n go next door b/c it's collision center (A1 hole in center nowhere to sit nor park) - why make appt if show up, ignored by David Gregor, then start well after appt-- he could give a sh*t and likely he's the owner -1 stars read more

David (I think he's the owner) was amazing and I didn't pass the first time due to my car not being driven enough. I did what he told me to do and passed within 12 hours... THANK YOU DAVID! read more

Overall a very easy experience, and Norik (whose name I hope I have right) is great -- very friendly and a good communicator about what he'll be doing and how long it will take. My husband and I have been here before, and we'll be back. read more

Only place I would take my car for a valid smog check! I called and made an appointment. Then I drove up in my daughter's car without waiting. Warmly welcomed, I was asked several questions. Then I sat as the owner skillfully conducted the checks and expertly submitted all the paperwork to the required officials. Fast, professional, and a delightful experience for something that can easily be a very stressful process. read more

Monday afternoon @3, rolled in without an appointment, Mohammad (who is a lovely man) made quick work of my smog test and I was back on the road. Definitely recommend, especially if it means something to you to work with the owner of a small local business. read more

Do not recommend. Drove up, was told I needed an appt. So I left. I made an appt for 5pm today. Some other car was there at my appt time. They weren't ready for me at all. Said it would be half an hour DONT DO APPOINTMENTS THEN read more

Made an appointment, and service was extremely prompt and professional. Took exactly as long as what I had been promised. Always a pleasure to go there! read more

Great service at a reasonable price. The collision place next-door is top rated so you can get lots of things done at the same time.

I pulled in: no appointment. David was great. He was out the door in maybe 15 minutes, nice waiting room shared with collision body shop next door. $68 and finito. read more

A1 Smog Check is my go to for smog checks. I've been coming here for years and have never had a problem. They have an online reservation system, which makes it easy to make appointments. If you need an appointment in less than 2 hours, you need to call. There's a wait room indoors, chairs outside or you can walk around the neighborhood while you wait. Starbucks, Poquito Mas, Jersey Mike's and Subway are all within walking distance. The whole process, including payment, takes less than 30 minutes. They don't accept American Express, but take other credit cards, cash and check. read more

Why make an appt? 1 worker-& behind. At 12! Opens at 11-woman before me was there almost 1 hr. There was a man there w/his car: what was he doing? The worker spent entire time dealing with him! Ridiculous. I was there 35 min & people before me-he was just starting-but again STILL dealing w/this man. Just nonsense! I left. Again: WHY make an appt if not anywhere near that time!? Sheesh read more

Thank you for seeing my car in short notice ! Service was fast and friendly , I called and they told me they can smog check my car in 20 mins . Reasonable price and very knowledgeable. I recommend this place 10/10. read more

Any time I have to do a Smog Check for my registration renewal, I come here. I've walked in before but it's way more convenient to call and schedule an appointment ahead of time! I got in at 9am and was out before 9:30. Paid $68 for the whole thing, and he prints you a copy for the DMV, but I think he also reports it so you don't actually need the form! Will be back again for my next smog check! read more

Norik is amazing! He took me in last minute and got me squared away. This was my first smog check and he took the time to explain the process and what to expect from the DMV afterwards. I would definitely come here again. read more

I had a smog check done for my out of state Lexus RX 350 and it cost $68. A little bit on the pricier side but I feel like I paid for convenience of the appointment and proximity to where I live. The person I worked with was very nice and it took him 30-mins on the dot to complete my check. He also noticed a scratch I'd gotten recently from an incident in the parking lot and gave me some nice advice on how to fix it for a reduced cost (bc it's so superficial he thinks a lot of the markings will come off with some polish). Great experience and I'd come back again. Tip: pull into the auto body side of the parking lot and the garage is right there. read more

Made an appointment, everybody was on time and professional. I did not pass smog however due to me being from out of state and clearly an inexperienced driver, David didn't charge me for the first service. Instead he gave me a few words of advice (complete a drive cycle) and told me to come back. After doing exactly what he asked I came back and passed! Everything was so smooth, I cannot recommend them enough. read more

Came here to get the smog check recently. It was quick and professional. Highly recommend!

Norik is the man. Came for a smog check, left with that and a fixed gas cap. Norik, the guy working there was extremely helpful, personable, and professional. This guy went completely out of his way, for no reason, to help me fix my gas cap. Pep Boys wasn't sure how to fix it, but quoted me hundreds of dollars for labor to replace the wire that was malfunctioning. Norik FIXED IT himself in 20 minutes. And gave me more helpful advice about my registration renewal. Had to pay him for saving me hundreds in minutes, simply out of the goodness of his heart. Cannot recommend him enough. I will go back here always. 11/10 experience. Unreal. I posted this on Google reviews too. His willingness to just help is unmatched, people like him are not common read more

Norick is a great dude -- been here 3 times in the last year, would highly recommend!

Quick and easy. I made an appointment the day before and had the job done on time the following day. Sunday! Definitely will Come back again (if necessary)! read more

Fast. Efficient. On time. Reasonably priced. Makes me wish I needed a smog check every year. Waiting space indoors and out.

Norik was great to work with, friendly and honest! I'm glad I got my service done here and will come back again in the future.

Norik was awesome. Good energy chill vibe. I trusted him. Super helpful kind man. Best price I found in town. Thank you. I'll be back. :)

Had such a pleasant experience getting a smog test here today. I went online before and made an appointment which was an easy process. Brought my car in and was out of there in 30 minutes. I don't know how this place can stay in business. Took my vehicle there for the smog check meet the man there named David, I believe he is the owner of the business, I have never met or seen any one with such rude attitude towards his customer. The way he speaks and the angry look of his face that could ruin your day. Never again will come back to this place for smog check. read more

Started coming here as a UCLA student who wanted a smog check close to Westwood. It's been a smooth process on every visit since -- usually about 30 minutes for the full process and ~$50. Walk around the neighborhood or sit in the office while you're waiting (an entertaining spot for people watching). Most recently, I used their online booking service and it works without a hitch! read more

Great place! They have a website where you can make online appointments, which makes this a fast service with hardly any waiting around. I had made an appointment for 11:30 and was good to go by 12. David is very nice and friendly and explained everything that I needed to do. They are located next to an auto body shop, but you can wait in the body shop's waiting area. read more

I made an appt through the super convenient online scheduling system. My appt. was for 12:30 and I showed up at 12:25. David immediately drove my car into the garage and told me to "come back at 1:01." I walked down the street to the corner mini mall and hung out for a while, then walked back at 12:55. I saw my car still in the garage with the engine running. A good sign. At precisely 1:00 David backed my car out and parked it. Amazing. I paid him $60 (I have an SUV) and was on my way. No muss, no fuss. Highly recommended!! read more

went for a smog check ($68) and the process took all of fifteen mins. highly recommend!

I expected to wait a long time because of the location. The gentleman working was very friendly and fast! I was out in maybe 10 minutes!
