Seam of countertops planned to be over dishwasher...terrible idea
Chad C.

DO NOT USE this company. I dealt with multiple companies throughout the entire remodel of my kitchen, but A-1 was the only one to leave me high and dry with low quality work and poor communication. Months after the project, I am still regretting my decision to have worked with A1. I used A-1 for the cabinets and countertops in my kitchen. While their bid was lower than big box stores, I quickly found out why. They cut corners by using inferior products and subcontracting out the install to novice installers. When confronted with the poor work, they first will blame the installer ("we subcontract out, they don't work for us"), then try to ignore calls/texts, and lastly offer a few hundred dollars to keep poor reviews off Google/yelp. With the cabinets, the product of the finish was low quality as evidenced by being easily chipped, and seams separating within weeks. With the install, the installer left a 3/4" gap around the sink apron after A-1 promised this would be taken care of (my contractor had to fix it at cost to me). They also had no plan for supporting my farmhouse sink except for the cabinet itself, which was absurdly insufficient (my contractor had to fix at cost to me). The installer also didn't countersink any screws or use washers, leading to loose connections between cabinets and sharp wood splinters being exposed around screws. Not what you want to see after paying a company over $6k. The doors of the sink cabinets also were the wrong size and never installed...I had to end up physically driving to A-1 over 3 weeks after the install to pick up the new doors and have my contractor install them (at cost to me). With the countertops, I can't even begin to describe the mess. First, they measured the new countertop space with just a tape measure (no templating at all). This poor measuring led to the the countertops being so far off that they cut 10 feet of dry wall out of my newly installed drywall to push the countertops 1 inch into my wall. They tried to put the countertop seam over the dishwasher, which is highly recommended against by any reputable countertop company (heat/moisture of a dishwasher cause seams to break). They tried to buy me off by promising a 5 year guarantee, but I ended up demanding they remove the cabinets and leave. I used a new company, who templated properly and had no issues...this new company also laughed when told that the previous company put the seam over the dishwasher. After all these issues, I asked that they are least cover the cost of the repairs required for their poor work...they gave me 50% of what I asked for, and honestly I felt happy to escape their building with that. I was left with poor work, a poor product, and months behind timeline on my kitchen due to their poor work.

Inside my top drawer!!!! Can't wait to look at this for the next 30 years.

One day, on Instagram, a post by Cabinet Factory Outlet Plus popped up. We looked at their page and liked what we saw so we followed them. It took us a while to give them a call and Vicky Bauer answered the phone. We are SO glad she did! She was amazing to work with and we were able to have a beautiful design created in about two weeks! She is knowledgeable, creative, professional, and we appreciated the time she took to be sure the measurements were precise and providing a detailed quote! She was also very patient in adjusting the quote as we added just about every add-on available. The entire process was seamless and our cabinetry arrived right on time! And better yet, they stand behind their product. We had 2 cabinet doors that had imperfections and they were replaced immediately! Gorgeous, beautiful, amazing, what a transformation, magazine worthy - these are words and phrases my family and friends have used to describe the renovated kitchen! With excellent customer service and great price points, we would 100 percent recommend Cabinet Factory Outlet Plus to all! We looked at new cabinets but were frustrated by salespeople and a lack of direction. A friend referred me to Cabinet Factory Outlet Plus. We visited the showroom and met Vicky Bauer. She was wonderful to work with. My design meeting with her was so productive. I knew some things I did and did not want, but there were so many options to consider. Their showroom is lovely and she was able to walk me over to a display and actually show me the various features and options. That made it so much easier to make decisions. I walked out of that meeting finally feeling excited about the project. Throughout the process, from order to finish, she was very responsive to emails and phone calls and figuring out solutions when issues came up. We are so happy with our finished kitchen and recommend Cabinet Factory Outlet Plus (and Vicky) as a first stop for a kitchen remodel.

I have to say, we couldn't be more happy with both the end result as well as how DreamMaker approached the entire process from start to finish. The DreamMaker team were really friendly, professional, and responsive from day one until, well, weeks after they'd finished when we had some questions about care and maintenance. They were very transparent with their pricing up front and also provided a complete product list of everything they had installed. When they were working inside of our home, all of the workers that came to visit took immense care. They did a fantastic job in covering up all of our carpet they were walking on, covering up the floors and other surfaces in our bathrooms that they were working in. They kept everything really clean and we were impressed at the attention to detail (the DreamMaker team found minor imperfections that the wife and I missed to correct in the final walk through, far more critical of their own work than we were!). I only have one complaint. They did such a good job with the new bathroom in the basement, it makes our master bathroom look bad!!! (Good problem to have in the end) Pricing wise, we had gotten quotes from multiple vendors earlier on in this process. Considering how top notch of an overall project experience we had, I can pretty happily say that none of them came close to matching the value DreamMaker brought. We will certainly be looking to them in the future for any other projects! (Pictures are just of the new basement install, they also put that black countertop in our other bathrooms)

Once again, as our initial contact, Aaron accurately assisted us with defining the project while Brian efficiently managed the logistics of supply orders and delivery. As the project's foreman, Marty's professionalism was phenomenal! As in our previous bath project, he once again expertly managed the on-site project details, helping us find the perfect tile shower accents--from the decorative bands to the practical niches--and ensuring a high-quality and timely finished product. Miles was also an amazing and talented asset as he joined Marty (even on Saturdays) in completing the bulk of tile work as well as installation of the various bathroom components in a timely manner. Eli was instrumental in skillfully completing various tasks, including staining the doors and caulking the shower. And, Scotty did a wonderful job with both staining the doors and managing the site cleanup. As we had observed in our previous interactions with Cornerstone, all of their employees are extremely knowledgeable, tremendously helpful, incredibly personable, and exceptionally gifted professionals.
