McKean's Floor to Ceiling - Basement Remodel Project, LVT Flooring, Quartz Countertops, Tile Backsplash by McKean's

McKean's Floor to Ceiling

McKean's just completed a whole house remodel project that included LVT floor coverings, tile,…read moregranite countertops, kitchen sinks, and carpet and I cannot express how impressed I am with both the quality of products and the excellence of their saleswoman, Becky, and the installers. Becky did an outstanding job of helping me pick out the different features, not an easy task considering all the decisions that have to be made in coordinating everything. I highly recommend McKean's and especially Becky, who I now consider a friend.

(At first they said "nothing could be done") They don't finish the edges of the base shoe at all. There is different colored base shoe on the same wall. (Not stained the same or something) Where two pieces of shoe were needed they put the seams/short runs right next to the highest traffic areas instead of hiding them in a corner. The base shoe in the kitchen doesn't match the flooring, cabinets, or other base shoe in the house. There are large gaps under the door trim. In preliminary discussions they said they would "figure something out" to make it look nice. After they got paid it turned into nothing could be done. A vent was broken and they just reinstalled it with the freshly broken slat jammed behind the vent itself. A lot of small details adds up to a janky look. If you are looking for laborers to install flooring they will get the job done for a price but don't expect the fine details to look nice. There were also staples half hanging out on the stairs that my wife caught her finger on and had a bad time with. They also left the door to outside open a lot letting lots of cold air in. The longest time was probably 25 minutes total. I would not hire them again as attention to detail and quality is very important when you are talking about a transaction upwards of 15k.

One day, on Instagram, a post by Cabinet Factory Outlet Plus popped up. We looked at their page and liked what we saw so we followed them. It took us a while to give them a call and Vicky Bauer answered the phone. We are SO glad she did! She was amazing to work with and we were able to have a beautiful design created in about two weeks! She is knowledgeable, creative, professional, and we appreciated the time she took to be sure the measurements were precise and providing a detailed quote! She was also very patient in adjusting the quote as we added just about every add-on available. The entire process was seamless and our cabinetry arrived right on time! And better yet, they stand behind their product. We had 2 cabinet doors that had imperfections and they were replaced immediately! Gorgeous, beautiful, amazing, what a transformation, magazine worthy - these are words and phrases my family and friends have used to describe the renovated kitchen! With excellent customer service and great price points, we would 100 percent recommend Cabinet Factory Outlet Plus to all! We looked at new cabinets but were frustrated by salespeople and a lack of direction. A friend referred me to Cabinet Factory Outlet Plus. We visited the showroom and met Vicky Bauer. She was wonderful to work with. My design meeting with her was so productive. I knew some things I did and did not want, but there were so many options to consider. Their showroom is lovely and she was able to walk me over to a display and actually show me the various features and options. That made it so much easier to make decisions. I walked out of that meeting finally feeling excited about the project. Throughout the process, from order to finish, she was very responsive to emails and phone calls and figuring out solutions when issues came up. We are so happy with our finished kitchen and recommend Cabinet Factory Outlet Plus (and Vicky) as a first stop for a kitchen remodel.

Where do I start....this is a generational, family owned business and it is RARE that a company…read moredoes the right thing, but CKF went over and above. We built a new home last year and two months before close, a pipe burst and the entire first floor flooded into the basement. The builder promised to make the house whole to move forward as we were so close to completion. So many corners were cut. Things that the builder said he replaced were dried out and reused in their damaged state (powder bath vanity). This led to sagging kitchen countertops which separated from the walls, warped cabinets, etc. The builder has been non-existent since closing and left us with improperly installed cabinet fixtures, missing light rail, obtrusive electrical outlet boxes under our cabinets, mismatched crown molding in the kitchen, drawers that do not line up, gaps between cabinet and walls, so many issues. Since the builder wouldn't complete the warranty work and didn't project manage during the build, we reached out to CKF directly and to our surprise they made our house whole. Jenna, Missy and many of the higher ups along with their most tenured and skilled employees made FOUR trips to our home. They communicated promptly, offered empathy, and did everything they could to make it right when most of these issues were the builder's responsibility. They supplied a replacement vanity, helped us brainstorm to provide design and functional solutions to replace the crown moulding and light rail. They fixed gaps in cabinets, replaced kitchen island countertop and fixed sagging and re-caulked all countertops to perfection. All of this cost them time and resources that they will not recover. They did it because it was the RIGHT thing to do in their eyes. They saw us as people and not profit. I wish our builder would learn a lesson from their example. I own a small business and this is how I treat my customers. I believe you get what you give and it all comes back. Bravo CKF!! Thank you to all the people involved who made us whole. Thank you for your kindness and thank you for going far beyond the definition of "over and above". We will be forever grateful and love our space knowing that it is not only beautiful but that the workmanship is of the highest quality. Thank you!! Thank you!!!

After I would make changes, they would take 3-4 weeks to get them back to me for approval and they still wouldn't have all of my requests addressed. So back they go for another 3-4 week wait. The wait for cabinets delayed other workers from getting things done. The final move-in date was delayed by at least 3 months which caused our mortgage rate to go up. It is now 18 months after we first hired them and we are still waiting for some final fixes. The only reason I didn't give them one star is that the cabinets themselves are beautiful. I only wish their customer serviced matched them.

I have to say, we couldn't be more happy with both the end result as well as how DreamMaker approached the entire process from start to finish. The DreamMaker team were really friendly, professional, and responsive from day one until, well, weeks after they'd finished when we had some questions about care and maintenance. They were very transparent with their pricing up front and also provided a complete product list of everything they had installed. When they were working inside of our home, all of the workers that came to visit took immense care. They did a fantastic job in covering up all of our carpet they were walking on, covering up the floors and other surfaces in our bathrooms that they were working in. They kept everything really clean and we were impressed at the attention to detail (the DreamMaker team found minor imperfections that the wife and I missed to correct in the final walk through, far more critical of their own work than we were!). I only have one complaint. They did such a good job with the new bathroom in the basement, it makes our master bathroom look bad!!! (Good problem to have in the end) Pricing wise, we had gotten quotes from multiple vendors earlier on in this process. Considering how top notch of an overall project experience we had, I can pretty happily say that none of them came close to matching the value DreamMaker brought. We will certainly be looking to them in the future for any other projects! (Pictures are just of the new basement install, they also put that black countertop in our other bathrooms)

Because I was not able to view the exact items I had in mind, the staff was very helpful in showing me similar courts in the brand Cambria outlet, which my contractor has recommended. There were some samples inside, but Giovy was kind enough to show me around outside as well, so I can view full slabs. They were getting ready for installation. We did some research, decided on quartz, and then contacted several companies to get estimates. 101 Countertops was responsive right away and Brenda came out within the week to do some preliminary measurements, see the kitchen space, and answer questions. We were impressed and made arrangements to visit the physical store location where we selected our countertops, sink and tile for the backsplash from the samples available. The faucet we purchased ourselves at Lowe's. They work closely with another business (Balmori's Remodeling) for the actual tile work so we received a separate estimate for that. There were a couple unavoidable delays getting started but it was well worth the wait. They communicated with my spouse (since he works at home) via text, email and phone. The work took a couple days for the countertops and a couple days the following week for the tile. We are so pleased with the result! I included some pictures and would recommend them to someone wanting to do a similar project.
