I initially contacted several local roofing contractors here in west Omaha, but couldn't even get a return call. With the clock running and mild desperation beginning to set in, I had the good fortune of running into a real estate sales friend from Council Bluffs last Friday who recommended Best Roofing based upon his past experience with Russ and his team on several roof replacements for friends and family members. I immediately left a message for Russ and received a reply within two hours which was rather refreshing. Saturday afternoon Russ arrived at my home and upon inspecting the roof, provided me several options from repair to replacement. I had a vague idea of what I wanted, but as we drilled down into the requirements for a new roof, Russ offered me several options that would meet my needs but reduce the overall investment required to replace the roof. I was sold. The Best Roofing team arrived at 8:00 am this past Monday morning and finished the job by early Thursday. I was impressed by the speed and diligence displayed by the roofers who me a comfort level that they knew their business and how to perform their tasks efficiently. I also appreciated the fact that they thoroughly cleaned up around the house each afternoon at dusk, prior to departing. I was so impressed, that I added several additional projects including a detailed tile repair to my master shower and outside trim caulking and painting tasks that coincided with the roof replacement. The project wrapped up this afternoon and my stress levels regarding my old roof have dissipated. We called the builder who stated "with as much rain as we have gotten a small leak is nothing to worry about." Well that leak turned into bowls filled with water and ceiling damage. Suddenly, getting a hold of our builder was a god-awful task. Five months ago, they said they would make time to check it out, but nothing was really solved; and our cameras didn't show anyone coming to look at it. BBB complaint I filed-…read more I noticed that I had standing water in my kitchen that was coming through a crack in my ceiling. After doing some troubleshooting in the attic I realized that the issue was coming from the roof. I called Above and Beyond Roofing to come out and take a look since they were the ones that replaced my roof. They came out, agreed that the leak was coming from the boot and put caulk around it to stop the leak. The leak did stop. I let them know that I would be contacting a handyman to get an estimate for the repairs for the water damage. Within the next few days I called them and emailed Above and Beyond roofing with no response. After getting the estimate I called them again and was able to talk. Above and Beyond Roofing started saying that the estimate I got was ridiculous and the leak wasn't their fault. I sent them the pictures I took, detailing the leak and the steps I took while troubleshooting. No response. I called them again today and they came out but only to argue that the estimate I got was ridiculous and the leak wasn't their fault. I am only asking them to repair the damages caused by the leak by a reputable handyman and the items I had to purchase while troubleshooting (gloves to work with water and insulation, a flashlight for working in the attic, and a can of Flexseal and waterproof tape).

You see only a couple of reviews and roll the dice on a free estimate. It's fair. I mean like REALLY fair. The "other" guys with the wrapped vans and well known logos have given you estimates nearly double what Pastor Roofing gave me. So I roll the dice. I'll be honest, the communication wasn't great...but who needs constant contact anyway-that's just annoying. And I didn't get a written estimate...just a verbal one. (Again, that voice that says, "Umm, is this really ok?"). The day before they are schedule to show up I get a final notice for the labor. I am told that I will reimburse the cost of supplies and they will show me a receipt. All seems fair. Let me tell you...they are worth every penny they charge. The siding was done perfectly. the fascia they replaced was done perfectly...weird angles and all. Plus they found frame rot and repaired that for only an additional $150. Top notch workmanship!!! Excellence all around. We will be hiring them before Winter to replace some windows as well! (And the nextdoor neighbor had hired them for their siding repairs too!) Brad looked over the roof and said all looked good but did find a nail that should have been under the shingle but was showing. Brad went back up in the roof and covered it so that no water could penetrate it. I ask if there was any charge and he said no.
