We live in a fairly new home and within our one year warranty, we didn't have any problems... well go figure, the second spring/summer we experienced torrential rain and started noticing a small leak within our dining room roof, whenever the rain came from the south/east. We called the builder who stated "with as much rain as we have gotten a small leak is nothing to worry about." Well that leak turned into bowls filled with water and ceiling damage. Suddenly, getting a hold of our builder was a god-awful task. Five months ago, they said they would make time to check it out, but nothing was really solved; and our cameras didn't show anyone coming to look at it. Our realtor recommended Best Roofing, and within a week our roof was fixed, flashing replaced, and they left no trace of being there (very clean/no nails within our yard) and all within a VERY reasonable price. I had the good fortune (or misfortune) to discover within the past two weeks that my 20-year-old shake shingle roof was near the end of its useful like and required either repair or replacement before winter. I initially contacted several local roofing contractors here in west Omaha, but couldn't even get a return call. With the clock running and mild desperation beginning to set in, I had the good fortune of running into a real estate sales friend from Council Bluffs last Friday who recommended Best Roofing based upon his past experience with Russ and his team on several roof replacements for friends and family members. I immediately left a message for Russ and received a reply within two hours which was rather refreshing. Saturday afternoon Russ arrived at my home and upon inspecting the roof, provided me several options from repair to replacement. I had a vague idea of what I wanted, but as we drilled down into the requirements for a new roof, Russ offered me several options that would meet my needs but reduce the overall investment required to replace the roof. I was sold. The Best Roofing team arrived at 8:00 am this past Monday morning and finished the job by early Thursday. I was impressed by the speed and diligence displayed by the roofers who me a comfort level that they knew their business and how to perform their tasks efficiently. I also appreciated the fact that they thoroughly cleaned up around the house each afternoon at dusk, prior to departing. I was so impressed, that I added several additional projects including a detailed tile repair to my master shower and outside trim caulking and painting tasks that coincided with the roof replacement. The project wrapped up this afternoon and my stress levels regarding my old roof have dissipated. Lost a patch of shingles off my roof during the recent spate of high winds. Got the recommendation from my realtor of "Best Roofing" out of Council Bluffs. The owner; Russ Rooker, personally came out to survey the roof and provide the quote. Response time was quick and the quote for the work was very reasonable...key word being "very reasonable". Russ was also quick to point out that a new roof was not needed and that the repair job would allow the roof to last several more years. While on the roof, he also noted a bit of hail damage that occurred previously and included that as part of his quote as well as tacking down the flashing that had been blown up. The roof was finished in a couple of hours along with the additional items noted above. Crew was efficient and cleaned up the work site well. Very pleased with the work. Would definitely utilize their services again and recommend their work to anyone. I spoke to the owner and found out that "Best Roofing" has not advertised in 15 years...no website, no radio ads, no newspaper ads, no ads in the phone book. Everything is word of mouth. Last year was their most successful year to date. Says something for the word of mouth advertising. The company also does siding and gutters along with the roofing. Best Roofing is anything but the best. I discovered this company after reading a good review on Yelp. I paid $3445 to reroof my 720 sq ft home. I was very disappointed. For starters, the owner gave me a hard time for scrutinizing the details of the warranty. (Yes, you read that correctly.) Then when I discovered the warranty was not as the owner explained it to me, the response was "Oh wow. Thank you for pointing that out to me. This has been very educational for me and will help me explain the warranty better to future customers." As far as the installation of the roof, I was told on three different occasions "It will be done next week". I would have been fine had I been told, "It will be done in 2 months." Just tell me that in the first place. The guys that completed the work were nice. There were a couple times when I went out to give them waters and a few people were smoking. It didn't really bother me, but I know that would upset a lot of people. I also paid $245 to have the "leaf relief" installed. Well, I ended up having maple leaves growing on top of my gutters. I called to have somebody check on this and again I was told, "I'll send somebody out tomorrow." After four times of being told somebody would come out tomorrow, they finally sent somebody to look at the gutters. All of the crap that was on the gutters was slopped onto my yard. And while I appreciate having a clean roof, now I have the mess in the yard to deal with. The response I was given in regards to the "leaf relief" was, "They did their job. They kept the leaves out of the gutters. There is nothing we can do about stuff growing on top of the leaf relief. You will still have to do maintenance." Obviously I was frustrated because I paid the extra $245 to avoid having to clean my gutters twice a year. Now I have to clean out my "leaf relief" once a year. Again the response I got was, "This has been a learning experience for me and I will be sure to let future customers know they are not maintenance free". So basically I did a lot to help "educate" this business owner so he doesn't screw over future customers, but that doesn't help the fact that I get screwed. Thanks Best Roofing. read more

They did a great job replacing the roof and gutters on my house and shop. They showed up right away, got it done quickly, and cleaned up after themselves. They also did some work on a retaining wall, repaired the stairs on my deck, and replaced the fascia and soffit on my house. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs work done on their house! read more

They started with roofing, then siding and gutters. Roofing was awesome, after that... no good. Siding guys trampled through flower bed, went into my garage after I told the boss to keep them out... I caught them in it again.. damaged my personal belongings broke yard ornaments that were in a safe area. I have had 2 flat tires and am still picking up debris and nails from driveway and yard. Gutter guys were great.. notified me when they arrived and left and did an amazing job. I am still waiting on the siding to be finished... the material is sitting in my yard and no one has shown up in a week to finish it. read more

I used Best Roofing in Spring of 2018 to replace some siding panels and other exterior trim on my house in Omaha. Best was recommended to me by a relative who had his roof replaced. Best's siding quote was 1/2 of what a larger local company quoted, so I had some concerns with the quality and overall experience going in. However, I found the Company Owner (Russ Best) and his crews to be very easy to work with so long as you communicate your concerns up front (e.g. where to park, put the dumpster, schedule, etc.) They had one small add for less than $100, which was reasonable since I only wanted them to initially quote specific locations of siding. Russ called me to tell me about this before proceeding, which is much better than finding out about the add on the final bill (I had been clear that I would only pay for changes I approved up front). Another potential issue was that one of the workers damaged a hose on my pool equipment; although this was a disappointment, the worker immediately told me about the issue, and Russ assured me they would pay to replace it (we adjusted this on the final bill). Issues will come up on any project (big or small), but Russ's approach to managing the issues is what made this a 5 star experience. I also ended up hiring Best to paint the exterior of the house . Overall, I felt Best provided an excellent value, and I would recommend working with them again. Russ Best seemed very concerned about his reputation as I saw him check in with the workers each day they were onsite. read more

They may eventually get the job done but they use people who charge the company less than average pay to fix their bad painting skills. The trim on houses is only the tops of the wood. They take advantage and over charge. Thumbs down. read more

I had an excellent experience with this company. They don't have much of an advertising or marketing presence, so I feel obligated to report my interactions with them here on Yelp. Let me start off by explaining that I had a bit of a unique situation - I originally planned to replace my roof myself. I purchased my own shingles for the job. Later on, I decided I didn't want to deal with the hassle and safety risks, so I decided to hire out the job. So, my first problem is that roofing companies tend to make a lot of their money by marking up supplies (shingles the most), so this presented difficulties for me getting affordable bids. Several of the companies I called gave me horrible bids - they would inflate labor costs and fees in order to compensate for the materials they wouldn't be able to use as a reason to inflate the bid. Best Roofing beat the next best bid by an insane margin. Their prices are excellent. Remember my shingles I purchased? One company wanted to charge me a separate line item for over $500 just to deliver the shingles to the roof. Russ offered to do this for me basically for free. Not only would he use my materials, he would deliver them to the roof without giving me any grief. I'm not sure if you've ever moved bundles of shingles up a ladder, but it's not very fun. So, that was a huge relief for me. I'll just report the other good things in list format to keep this review from getting too long. - I was very late to our first meeting. Russ waited for me for over an hour and fifteen minutes, and was still extremely polite. - There was a problem with my shingles that I purchased - half of the bundles I purchased were a very slightly different color. This was a mistake made by Menard's when I purchased the shingles. Not only did Russ inform me of the error, saving me from having two different colored shingles patched across my roof, he took half of them back up to Menard's and exchanged them for me - at no cost! He did this for free! - I called Russ about replacing my roof on Monday afternoon, and my roof was finished by 3 p.m. on Wednesday. That's pretty speedy in my book. - Russ sent me pictures throughout the job as they worked on my roof to keep me updated on progress. - Russ kept an open line of communication, made sure all my questions were answered, and was always available via text and phone - Their company offers a 5 year workmanship guarantee Best Roofing gave me extremely polite, fast, affordable service. Done by hard working Americans. I'd recommend his business to anybody! read more

Russ, the owner of Best Roofing, was very helpful and explained everything in detail multiple times to me, as it was my first time dealing with a hailstorm. He answered all of my questions and helped me decide if more extensive work was needed, which he concluded was not necessary. Other Roofing agents were hard to get a hold of and when I was finally able to get in contact with one, they sent people to inspect my roof, however, I never saw anyone come to my house. Russ made sure I fully understood before I made any commitment! Russ personally came and inspected the job before and after, and made sure I was pleased with the work, guarantee, and the aesthetic aspect of the roof. The small details of making sure all of my caps and chimney matched pleased me and I was grateful that he took the extra step to make sure things were outstanding. These are the worst contractors I have ever seen. Look elsewhere! They are messy, unresponsive, and incompetent. They have left me with an incomplete project that they don't know how to finish and have taken off. I wouldn't want them to come back because they would just do more damage if they did. They bought the wrong size parts for the job and tried to work around it but ended up damaging the inside and outside of my home. I am going to have to sue the seller of my home who hired them and failed to meet the closing terms on my house, and they are going to get sued in return. Choose someone else and save yourself the same problems. read more
