    Basement install
    Beverly C.

Was an unfinished basement. Kelly's carpet came out and measured and I was on the schedule for installation within a few days. The 2 guys that came did a great job, they were very friendly and took their time to make sure it was done right. Everything went smooth, plus I got it $230 cheaper then the initial quote.

It took me many months to decide on what type of flooring I wanted in my house and who I wanted to do it. I started at Kelly's Carpet and my sales person Roni Huston was super helpful and patient. I picked out many carpet samples to try out. I decided I would also try Nebraska Furniture Mart. The salesman there was very helpful and had many suggestions. I also left there with many samples. When I returned to NFM with more questions I spoke with a different salesman since my original one was out. This salesman basically told me the other salesman gave me false information and that the original salesman had only sold carpet for 7 months so he wouldn't know things. Wow...that left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Over the next couple of months I struggled with the decision of putting new carpet in my house or laminate flooring. I went back to Kelly's to again speak with Roni. At this point I really wanted laminate wood flooring in my house, especially now that they have waterproof and scratch resistant flooring (Core Tech Plus)! I had recently had laminate wood installed in my kitchen and entryway and was just not sure I could make a different color laminate wood flow with the rest of my house. Roni was kind enough to offer to come to my house and give me her opinion as to how it would flow. Sure enough she came up with a PERFECT answer that would allow me to get laminate in the rest of my house and it flows perfectly! It was a big job to move everything on the main floor to have this installed, but my installers made things easy for me and it really was not as huge as a hassle as I anticipated! Kelly's has a much more personal interaction for the customer and I didn't feel like just a number as I did at NFM. Big thanks to Roni she is amazing, and also my installers Ryan and Dennis who were also amazing! I LOVE my new flooring!! Thanks Kelly's Carpet!!

We were advised by a neighbor to go with Keystone Carpet for our new purchase. We didn't know at the time that our neighbor bought and flipped houses with cheap fixed. Our mistake. We met and liked Stan and ended up going with him for our carpet, recarpeting essentially the entire house. We demoed our own carpet, which was exhausting work, but Stan said it would save us about 1k on our costs. After we removed it, Keystone showed up a couple of days late and put the carpet in. We had agreed to a 2 year no-interest finance deal with Wells Fargo, but when we got the paperwork signed, it ended up being only 1 year. Whoops. None of the installers spoke english, which made it difficult when my wife, who was observing the process, was pretty sure the wrong colors had were being stalled on the wrong levels. And when we received the bill, they charged us for the demo of the old carpet. The install itself was okay at best, but we can still signs of mediocre quality on some seam lines and edges. After verifying that the carpet had indeed been installed on the wrong floors, we contacted Stan, who advised to just repaint the walls to match the carpet. Walls we had just painted. Uh....what? I'm not kidding. That's literally what he told us to do. So then he offered us $1500. I told him no. We either wanted the cost of the carpet credited back to us, or we'd take the $1500 as a whoops, and then they can come make it right because by that point, we'd moved all our stuff into the house because we had to get out of our old place. After much back and forth, Stan ended up passing away, and we had to resolve the rest of the issues with Emilie, who was a go between us and the other owner. The correct carpet was finally installed on the top floor along with a credit of 1500 + 800 for the self-carpet demo, but nothing was done about the basement. Because, according to Emilie, we had never agreed that the correct carpet would be installed in the basement. Apparently, Keystone didn't think we still wanted the correct carpet in our basement. Even that's exactly what we'd been asking for all along. So we went back into dispute resolution with Keystone through Wells Fargo because we want the cost of the wrong carpet comped back to us as we were tired of dealing with Keystone. After literally 1 and a half years of back and forth and essentially being ignored by Keystone, we finally got an additional 2800$ refunded which, added to the original credit, equaled the cost of the wrong carpet. Even though we demoed our own carpet. This company is a total joke. Maybe it goes without saying, but I would not recommend using them. I will say that Emilie was very professional in all her responses, but we have a bitter taste still after going through this ordeal when all we really wanted originally was the right colors on the right floors. But apparently that was too much to ask for.

They were highly skilled, polite and respectful of our property. it was a genuine pleasure to have them in our home. We could not be happier with the installation. Jim Baldwin was our salesperson and he kept us informed thru the purchase to the installation. He definitely knows his products and directed us to just the perfect type of carpet we were looking for. He assisted us in selecting the color that would compliment our existing decor. He certainly made the entire process enjoyable. I have complete confidence in the Baldwin's and look forward to doing business with them again in the future.

For baldwins the price was 5.45 a sq ft for carpet and installation and kellys carpet the one we liked was 8. Baldwins sent a guy out to measure and when he got back to shop owner called right away complaining about going up a 6ft ladder to a deck which is easiest, best way to enter the house for roll of carpet and wasn't being nice and did not handle it the right way. Being a conctractor myself that is not the way you talk to a customer. So the estimate from Kelly's was 2600 for instal on carpet at 8 a square ft and baldwins was 3300 for 5.45 a sq ft. Both are exact same room. Math doesn't add up there. The owner almost doubled the price cause he didn't want to do the job. I would stay away from baldwins but if you do end up going there deal with David and not the owner don. Save some money and headache and go somewhere else like NFM who carry's same carpet for cheaper and no problems.

He gave me a quote to clean and stretch the carpets and was easy to schedule with to have the work done. He did a good job on the cleaning and stretched most of the problem areas. I wasn't present when he did the work but noticed after it was done that he had missed a section of carpet in the hallway that was rolled up right in front of a closet door. I called Matt to tell him that I was happy with the cleaning and the stretching but that he had missed a spot and the carpet was still rolled up. He asked me where the roll was and I told him. He said that he didn't see it and that his quote included everything that he stretched. Keep in mind that he cleaned the carpets too so I am not sure how he can claim that he didn't see it but mistakes do happen. I was hoping that he would offer to make it right but that didn't happen. He told me that if I wanted to have the carpet in front of the closet stretched that I would have to pay him to come back out and fix it. No thanks, if you can't do the job correctly the first time, don't expect me to pay you to a second time.. It's not like I called to ask him to fix an extra floor or room that wasn't originally discussed but apparently in his mind if he didn't see it then he shouldn't have to fix it. Lesson learned. I was planning on being a repeat customer but given the poor customer service, I will take my business elsewhere the next time that I need my carpets cleaned.
