I have had two other sets of hearing aids from other providers in the past. The current set that Dr. Dutton recently provided for me are the most comfortable and the clearest yet. Over a series of appointments, she was able to help fine-tine and pinpoint my issues so that I could finally hear conversations in noisy environments (without making all the other sounds uncomfortably loud). And, she made sure that I understood the best maintenance of the hearing aids and how to adjust their volume in different environments. Dr. Dutton is the consummate professional. She has a very cheery disposition and wonderful chair side manner that puts you at ease right away. Thankfully, she is very gentle and gifted in being able to explain one's hearing condition in an understandable way. It is clear that she is passionate about her work, and it was nice to learn about her involvement with international colleagues/groups to stay current with the latest technology. Aids would really help, according to my ENT physician. I visited San Diego Hearing Center recently, and met with Kalvin Perez. He administered a rather sophisticated hearing test, and showed me the printout of the results. Low frequencies, aceeptable hearing, higher freqencies very bad losses. He explained patiently and thoroughly the variety of aids available, and also my insurance allowance. Although I will be out of pocket, I chose an aid a step higher than the basic model which would have been covered. The aids are all rechargeable, and each charge provides 20 hours of run time, with a lifespan of at least five years, after which time the run time diminishes. Kalvin submitted all the necessary paperwork, and will notify me when my next appointment is available, for fitting. I am very satisfied with his professionalism and impressed with his patience with me and all my questions. I would not hesitate to recommend him and San Diego Hearing Center.
