I received an auditory consultation today with Juli Lung @ Abbott Hearing Aid Center in La Mesa. This would be the second time I have done so (the first being last summer). As a point of reference, I have previously worked in the medical field for many years with clinicians in many fields, and have been on both sides of the equation, as both a caregiver and a care recipient. To me, Juli exemplifies what a medical professional should be. She clearly has an in-depth understanding of audiology and easily translates her knowledge to the client. She generously provides sufficient time to ensure the client understands both the nature of the examination and its interpretation as it relates to the client's concerns and needs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On a more personal level, Juli is friendly, caring, and helpful in explaining both the results of the hearing examination as well as her recommendations - including the pros and cons of each - for addressing the client's specific needs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Juli's review included not only the clinical exam and recommendations but also (at my request) any possible hearing aid purchase. Re the latter, Juli carefully explained not only the possible options but also the prices, trial periods, and warranties, as well as the advantages of each. I highly recommend this location for your hearing aid needs! Boyd and Juli are the owners. Two of the nicest people you would be fortunate to meet. I got the LIVIO hearing aid and it's now been 9 months and I wear them everyday due to the "barely there" feel of them. I also love the very noticeable hearing improvement! Juli gives you undivided attention using her extensive computer system of which she is able to adjust your "Aids" as needed. The Livio Aids also have a built-in "TV hearing" system that enables you to hear every word of your favorite tv show. (This was an added plus!) I have gone most of my life never bothering to correct my one ear that has always been partially deaf as it never interfered with my hearing significantly. Recently I went here after reading so many positive reviews and I was not disappointed. Juli Lung and her husband Boyd are sooo sweet, kind and professional and the office is so nice. I never took photos but it looks very nice inside with a peaceful waterfall fountain in the wating room and an elegant modern looking interior. Juli is always so attentive to my needs and helped me find the cutest little aid that can't be seen at all. I don't always remember to wear it, but it definitely has made a difference. Juli took the time to make sure it fit properly, had the right sound quality and met my needs over various check in appointments. She also provided the cutest cases. And when I lost it for the first time, she helped me in using my policy to get a second one and went through the whole fine tuning process again. Contacted Julie at Abbott Hearing Center after many years of hearing deterioration. Had been to a local hearing center in Poway and was feeling a bit discouraged about my options. I am younger and wanted CIC set up but needed performance that would make the investment worth while. Julie directed me to the top of the line Phonaks. Not only completely completely invisible the performance is life changing. Julie is super patient and absolutely knowledgeable about the entire process of selection, set up, use and maintenance. The staff are friendly knowledgeable and very helpful. My father has very severe hearing loss. He has been to two different hearing aid centers those hearing aids were not nearly as helpful and they cost twice as much. In addition it was easy to get an appointment. The audiologist answered all our questions and showed us how to use the new features on the new hearing aids. In summary we were very satisfied with Abbott hearing aids Center. read more

I use the Lyric in ear aids and they are amazing! Liberating is a the first that comes to mind. As true with any device the people that service the equipment and look after the user is even more important in the equation. I was very pragmatic in my choice of Abbott Hearing Center. They ar not the closest to where I work or live but they were the right size I was looking for. I wanted people that I could relate to and when I needed them they would be able to respond as people, not process robots reading from procedure manuals. I enjoy my visits to their shop as I always feel like they're happy to see me and I get the sense they are interested in my issues. On one occasion I was traveling for business, one of my devices failed on the plane; I had a meeting the next morning that was important to me. They found and arranged an appointment for me that was close to where to where my appointment was, asked them to open 30 minutes early to look after me. When I arrived the coffee was on and all my data had been sent. They were ready with a preprogrammed device ... I was on my way in under 20 minutes! Its that kind of service and network that I value. I feel special, I'm served professionally with the best recommendations and support for my lifestyle. I trust them, their actions have earned my confidence. read more

My dear husband was referred to Abbott and physically felt better after Julie very professionally provided the most appropriate hearing aids for him. It was amazing how much better he felt, in addition to hearing so much better. The special "gizmo" for personal TV hearing enhancement works extremely well and Julie has provided above and beyond personal attention in our home. It doesn't get any better than that...well, except to say that she provided me with custom ear buds so that I can answer my iPhone safely (wearing only one) while driving or listen to my iPod (wearing both) when I want to enjoy my music. Hearing "aids"? They are not just for amplifying sound, I have over-sensitive hearing so I needed custom buds. They were so much more reasonable than many I found on-line...and they're "custom" fit to my ear so my Mac (Apple) ear buds fit snugly into them before they go into my ear. So comfortable and effective. Now we are both very happy with our custom hearing "aids" and have the sound we want, when we want it. THANK YOU so much. read more
