I have never in my entire life seen such a lame organization! This is the second BAD experience I have had with these people referred by AMERICAN HOME SHIELD. I didn't remember this company until the same RUDE/CONDESCENDING technician arrived. He enters my home on January 2, 2020 - NO good morning...NO hello, not even a cordial attitude. I should have had him leave immediately. This technician (and I use this word in its generic most form) clearly wasn't interested in helping me at all! I have two leaks, the first are the two pipes leading into my water heater where the plastic pipes connect to the copper pipes from the water heater and a leak at the water valve shut off and pipe from the wall to the toilet.
I didn't even notice the leak in the bathroom until water began jetting all over the place on New Year's Eve. I panicked, shut the water off. I couldn't find anybody available to come to fix it on December 31st which is understandable. I went to Walmart asking the salesperson what I could do to keep the water from damaging the floor. He sold me a tube of clear silicon which he said should at least slow the leak until someone could repair it. I was going to keep the water turned off but the salesperson said that wasn't a good idea to keep turning the water on and off like that, he said I could have busted the pipes doing this and assured me the silicon would hold until I could get help.
I return home and applied enough of the product allowing it to dry before I turned the water on again. He was correct, it did slow the leak to the point I could place a small bowl to catch what was dripping.
I had forgotten about my American Home Shield coverage so I contacted them on January 3, 2020 at around 5A.M. They dispatched 'A Water Solution' at 7705 Pickerington Road, Canal Winchester Ohio 614-834-5596. I received a call from their CSR at 7:45 A.M. who dispatched this RUDE/CONDESCENDING tech to my home arriving around 8:30A.M. or so. I didn't recognize the name until I saw that truck and the same RUDE/CONDESCENDING tech who came out back in 2015 when I needed a new water heater. I should have sent him on his way when I opened the door but I was desperate.
This RUDE/CONDESCENDING tech went into the bathroom and IMMEDIATELY began ranting about how he couldn't fix it because of the silicon I applied. He then went on to say he was going to have to cut into the drywall to run a new pipe - which I thought was strange just to replace a shut-off valve which is clearly visible with enough of the pipe coming out of the wall. The connection has a hand-tightened fitting at the toilet. Even if he did have to replace the plastic pipe it is accessible thru the laundry room. It's not like the bathroom is on one side of the house and the pipes running across the house - the bathroom is located right above the laundry room - the pipes are accessible...clearly!
This RUDE/CONDESCENDING tech then looks at the leaking pipes above the water heater and (are you ready for this?) tells me that it was a chemical reaction between the plastic pipes and the copper...and he further claimed the pipes WERE leaking but are not now. Which they are, when this RUDE/CONDESCENDING tech left, they're still leaking - clearly. He wasn't even in my home a goof 15 minutes, said had I not placed the silicon on the leak "he could have fixed it" but now he was going to have to replace the pipe and toilet valve shut off. He then went on to say he would give the estimate to American Home Shield to see if they were going to cover this leak.
I thought that was strange, why not give me a price while he was here and could have contacted American Home Shield thru his CSR. Nope, he went on his merry way. The pipes are still leaking and I am constantly dumping the water out of the container in the bathroom. FIVE hours go by, I call A Water Solution, no answer just a message machine so I left a message. Then, around noon or so I get a call from American Home Shield telling me my claim was DENIED (are you ready for this?) because the RUDE/CONDESCENDING tech wrote these issues up as NOT being normal wear/tear!!!!! I then asked the American Home Shield rep how in the hell can someone abuse items they have never touched, never had a reason to touch? The rep couldn't tell me.
I went on to tell her about the incident with A Water Solution in 2015 when I needed a new water heater. This same RUDE/CONDESCENDING tech wrote that issue up as NOT being normal wear/tear!!! Yes, a malfunctioning water heater with water spewing from the inside out of the bottom of the tank! HOW in the hell did I abuse that? I had this home built in 1998, it's aging like we all are. I am the ONLY occupant of this home. The company AHS sent for the second opinion replaced the water heater without question.
Do yourself a favor...DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH 'A WATER SOLUTION' 7705 PICKERINGTON ROAD - 614-834-5596 or you too will be sorry. It's 1/4/2020 AHS never sent anyone else..... read more
