Melanie herself was my sitter, but I understand she has some others who work with or for her depending on location and demand. She came out for a visit to meet everyone a week or so before the trip, and we had a nice talk about what she does when she visits. She scheduled each time slot according to what my pets needed and was very courteous and friendly. While we were away she sent text messages and pictures of my pets to let me know how things were going. She played with the kitten and made sure my older cat was eating and 'around' as well. She was also willing to be on call for an extra visit the day I was coming back, as I was not certain if I would be able to make it home in time for one of the feedings. I would definitely recommend her services.

My fiancee and I had to find pet care on short notice after our long-time pet sitter became unavailable. I found Melanie through internet research and left her a voicemail; she called me back within 10 minutes and answered every initial question and concern we had. We were leaving for a week-long international trip three days later, and Melanie was able to come by for a home visit the following afternoon to meet our cats and get all the details for their care. She also set us up with an app she uses for all her clients that allowed us to add any details we wanted for each of our pets, and which she uses with her staff to have a record for every visit. When Melanie came by the house, I could immediately tell she was an expert with animals after our two German shepherds ran up to her barking and she quickly put them at ease and had their tails wagging. She asked all the right questions about our four cats, whom she would be caring for for the week, and throughly answered all the additional questions that popped up. In addition to feeding our cats and giving them water for the week, Melanie and another member of her staff also cleaned the litter boxes, brought in the mail, and even moved our trash and recycling cans up the driveway so they wouldn't fall in the road. They also sent us photos and updates about our cats, one of whom needs a daily pill due to Addison's disease and can become fatally ill due to stress alone. We didn't worry about our cats once during our trip due to Melanie's fantastic updates and thorough preparation. And when we returned, all of our cats were more relaxed and happy than we've ever seen them after a trip. TL;DR: We'll be recommending Happy Tails to all of our local friends and neighbors and using Melanie's service anytime we need pet care. I got there and was confronted immediately because I just walked in. I wasn't told to wait outside and call because they have a dog who would attack my cats, so it seemed rude. I went into a room to wait and I overheard two women talking about my visit there. The vet was speaking in a very condescending tone saying my cats needed liver & kidney function tests and she wouldn't just hand medicine over to me. She hadn't even met me or the cats yet but her tone was extremely rude. I didn't stay. They shamed me because I didn't have their vet records with me and pretty much called me a liar when I told them they had their last rabies shots in 2021. I even said if they needed another shot, that was fine. I called for a specific need and they weren't going to do that without driving up the fees they were going to charge me and I still wasn't going to get the medication to help ease the cats experience in our car. Worst part was my car is in the shop and I needed to rent a car to get them to the appointment. So all told I spent close to $300 between their upfront fee and car rental and this doctor couldn't care less. Don't go here. They are rude and don't care about helping you in Any way at all.

My appointment was at 11:30. I arrived at 11:25 and called to let them know I knew I was early but checking in. They said they would get me in at my appointment time. Okay, cool. My cat doesn't travel well and they know that as I'd told them before but they hadn't given me any help with it. At 11:37 I called again to see if we could get her in as she was panting and even out of her carrier I couldn't calm her. I was told they were running behind and would get to me shortly. I waited until 11:45, when I called again and was greeted with an attitude upon telling them who I was. I explained I would like to reschedule as we had been waiting so long and my cat was not doing well. The vet, who shouldn't be answering phones or even dealing with people, had an attitude and told me they would get to me when they get to me and if I reschedule, I'd have to pay a cancelation fee. I told her that if I hadn't been waiting over 15 minutes I wouldn't be leaving and hung up. This is the email I got from them and proof of my call logs. Do not go to these people, the Dr is terrible. I was told by my vet tech professor to not go into this line of work if you don't like both people and animals. It's time to retire.

Our elderly dog was on two expensive medications that needed renewal on a monthly basis. We used online pharmacies to make it more affordable for our family through coupons - but this vet office made it EXTREMELY difficult to get these prescriptions approved because they wanted us to use their (much more expensive) in-house pharmacy. No matter how many times I wrote emails and complained about this practice, every time I needed a prescription refill approved, their in-house pharmacy would deny it initially and then tell me to order through their in-house pharmacy. Then I would have to call the office and write emails asking them to approve the prescription through the online pharmacy. It was time-consuming and exhausting because it was over and over again. It also meant that there were week-long delays in getting our dog the medication she needed. I hope the office re-thinks this way of working. I know they are trying to make more money by keeping meds in house - but it just makes folks frustrated that they can't get their pets medication at an affordable rate - without a huge hassle.

We have not found anyone as caring, loving and responsible as John at S&G! We've even boarded Barbara (who has never been boarded before), and she loved it. John also sends photos from the day and it's clear how much the dogs love playing and spending time with each other at S&G. Most of all, they get such an array of activity and space that allows your dog to be well socialized.

I absolutely love Anniel, the owner, and have complete confidence in her. I have a Coton de Tulear…read more(long coat like a Bichon) and I've taken him to her once a week for over a year to keep his coat mat-free and healthy. He wiggles and wags upon entering and gives Anniel and her assistant kisses. That says it all in my book. Businesses like K-9 Clippers deserve to be shared and recognized - they are exceedingly rare in my experience - ergo I'm writing my first Yelp review. Anniel truly cares about a dog's "grooming experience." My dog is not easy - before bringing him to K-9, I had tried grooming him myself; by the time I brought my dog to Anniel, he was a matted mess. More importantly, he was traumatized from attempts to remove his mats myself. During, his first grooming, she called me and told me he was biting; we agreed the best course was to shave him. She expressed that she was worried I'd not come back (1st time client and I'd wanted to keep his coat long), but also said in good conscience, the best and least painful option for my dog was to shave him and start over. She said she feared that if she kept going with the de-matting, he would develop a hatred of grooming from which he might never recover. I was so impressed with her honesty. I gave her the go-ahead to shave him, and thanks to her, he's never been shaved again! :) I am so grateful, too, that she did not give up on him due to the biting (which would have been understandable). He has actually *improved* thanks to her patience and persistence - even I can brush him now without his biting me. He needed time to trust that pain would no longer come from brushing once he was no longer matted. He grew out beautifully, and he gets compliments everywhere he goes thanks to his weekly sessions with her! Anniel knows dogs: she owns them, shows them, and to my mind, truly loves them. I'm a dog-nerd: I love seeing who is on the table when I go to pick up my guy: a Bichon in full "poof"; a handsome Doodle is another regular; two classically-groomed Scotties and a handful of Shih Tzu-types always make me smile. Every dog looks marvelous. The environment is quiet and calm; it is always Anniel and her assistant. The grooming tables are up front and in plain view. Everything is always clean and fresh. Her pricing is very fair - she has a sliding scale of sorts based upon how frequently you bring your dog and the level of grooming they require. For instance, every 6 weeks or so, I'm charged for a full grooming; but in between, I'm charged much less for a bath and brush. She is not fast...but I don't want her to be. Haste makes waste. My guy comes out looking exactly the same every week - how she does that, I don't know! :) Some people don't like leaving their dog all day, and that is an understandable preference. However unlike some places where the length of stay negatively impacts the dog (and I've taken my dog to one of those prior to finding K-9), I've never detected this here: like I said - every week, he goes in happy and comes out happy. Meanwhile (knowing he's well cared for) I can get a few things done. If this is a deal-breaker for you, I'd still recommend contacting her to see whether in your case, the grooming can be made shorter because, honestly? It's the best grooming you'll find. Finally, Anniel as a person is a pleasure to deal with. She and her assistant are always sunny and upbeat - I've never caught them in a bad mood in all my visits. Two thumbs (and four paws!) up!
