Some might shy away from AW Flowers because they don't have a huge internet presence - that would be a HUGE mistake. We saw Adam recommended a few times in a few places, and played some phone tag in order to set everything up but it paid off BIG TIME. They delivered top-tier results at really reasonable prices, and they were fantastic in accommodating anything we needed. As a first-time bride & groom, we relied a lot on our vendors to pull out what we wanted since we mostly knew what we didn't want. Adam was incredibly patient and more than willing to help us figure things out, which ultimately elevated our vision and meant we got to do things we didn't even know were possible. The end result was nothing short of breathtaking, and we got A TON of compliments on our flowers & decor. My experience with AW flowers was an awesome one! We were referred to Adam for our wedding flowers by a co-worker. I need to start by saying DO NOT BE DETERRED BY THE STOREFRONT! Sure, he doesnt have a fancy store, but he puts together AMAZING stuff! First, Adam has a great personality and was an extreme pleasure to work with. I really did not have a great idea of what I wanted going in there. After my fiance and I talked to him for about 15 mins and we showed him pictures of my dress and the bridemaids dresses, and expressed my love of everything feathery and bedazzled, Adam started throwing ideas out there and we were able to come up with what we wanted. We gave Adam our price and he was able to work with it. Then came the mock-up. Adam pretty much nailed what we wanted, but it was little hard to really see it on a small scale. Additionally, some of our flowers were out of season, so we couldn't get the full effect. We did do some re-arranging, etc. Adam was not satified until I was in love with what he was showing me. Wedding day - Adam shows up with the most AMAZING bridal bouquet! Hot pink, roses, lillies, black feathers, rhinestones! Bridal party bouquets were also amazing, and so were the centerpieces, and ceremony flowers. I was so happy with all of it! Photographer also loved it, as did all the girls and guests. I heard that the centerpieces also held up for a while after the event. We got amazing value for money with AW, and I laugh on the inside at others I know who paid alot more and got not-so-nice flowers. I also appreciated Adams honesty in that he would tell you if the flowers you wanted were going to be out of season, and would likely look crappy. He was also super professional. My wedding was yesterday and Adam and his team did an AMAZING JOB His prices are insanely reasonable for the quality you get. It was everything I had hoped for and more. His only "flaw" (not really, he is very busy) is that he does not respond to emails but he DOES read them, and by the time your next appointment comes, he prepares everything as it is discussed in the email. Obviously you can call the office, I just happen to work overnight with crazy hours, so email is my most preferred method. When I first didn't hear from him I got a bit nervous but then when we had our second meeting (a couple of weeks post email), I realized I had nothing to worry about. My sister asked him to do the flowers for my bridal shower going off of the type of flowers I told him I liked. I was blown away when I saw the arrangements. They were beautiful and more than I could have ever expected. I didn't know "exactly" what I loved, but Adam did and created it! He even add a few extra branches throughout the room. Adam is the best! He did our wedding at Oakeside Mansion in Bloomfield and was amazing! We have him a budget of $1000 and came in below it (how many florists can say that). His storefront is not the prettiest but don't let that (or some of these reviews) deter you. I've heard people spending $3,000+ on their flowers...do yourself a favor and talk to him before you do (and put the savings towards your open bar).He orders flowers directly from the growers and has them shipped to him directly to get the freshest flowers and avoid paying the middle man (and keeping costs down). We hired Adam to do florals for our wedding on February 10, 2019. During our reception, I noticed the centerpieces were nothing like we discussed or like the samples we were shown during our meeting in August. The centerpieces were supposed to be all white roses and hydrangeas with some greenery in between the flowers and branches coming out the top. The arrangement was supposed to be large and round. Per what we discussed ( as well as it clearly being stated in the contract) there were supposed to be 26 roses in each centerpiece. What we received on our wedding was a huge disappointment. The centerpieces were maybe 1/3 the size of what we agreed upon, the hydrangeas had a greenish tint to them and and the greenery looked dead and wilted. There were nowhere near the 26 roses and the arrangement wasn't mostly white with just SOME greenery as discussed- there was much more leaves than I wanted.I first reached out to Adam via email on March 14th after I received photos back from my guests so that I could include them in the email along with the photos from our sample meetings so I can clearly show him the differences and why I was so disappointed. Adam responded by calling me and asking if I had STOOD UP on our reception tables on our wedding day in order to take a photo of the centerpiece as it was not shown from the exact same angle as the sample was taken in order to "fairly judge". He said he stands by everything he did and there were not only 26 roses in each centerpiece but actually more. He said he will ask his team for their photos from that day and send them to me to review. I followed up 3 times over 2 weeks and when he finally sent me the photo his team took, it was from far away of our ceremony space where you could clearly see exactly what i stated that the florals are small and not at all what I ordered. I was told that is the only photo he has. I received the high definition photos from my photographer that further highlight the fact the centerpieces were smaller, the greenery was wilted and there were nowhere near 26 roses. When emailed them to him as further proof, he argued that the flowers look bad because " they were not done setting up as you can see there were no napkins on the table yet". I took a look at the photo again and there were not only napkins on the table but also water, bread, butter and menus. The tables were clearly finished being set up and there was no way the florals were not done yet. Adam is very nice when you first meet him but as soon as you have an issue he talks down to you and treats you like an idiot. Every time we spoke on the phone he was disrespectful and when I finally said I will no longer be taking his calls as he is rude and if he wants to contact me to do it via email he just completely stopped replying. We are now trying to resolve this issue via better business bureau as well as our credit card company. If your wedding florals are important to you, just pay more and have them done with a reputable florist. If I could go back in time I would gladly pay double or even triple the amount just so I don't have to deal with Adam and stress for weeks after my wedding. If there was a rating less than one star, that is what I would give AW Flowers. To say that Adam is the lowest of the low is not low enough! AW Flowers is exactly what the store front looks like, a cheap good for nothing florist that pulls the bait and switch to take your money. It all started out well enough. I went to him on a recommendation and he seemed nice enough and understood what I was after. The day of the "trial" we sat together and went over detail by detail exactly what I wanted. I am a detailed oriented person so I went as far as discussing the lengths of each crystal that was going to be hanging from the arrangements and picked particular tea light candle holders and how many each arrangement should have. He took notes, I took pictures The day of the wedding, he did NOTHING THAT WE DISCUSSED! The arrangements were smaller and had less flowers, the crystals were not there, he did not use the tea light holders I chose. It is obvious he did this to save money and because he couldn't care less about his customers. The worst part is he pretended that I would get what I wanted and priced it accordingly. You cannot take back what happens the night of your wedding. You can plan and hope for the best outcome if you put in the time in to discuss every detail with your vendors. What Adam did is inexcusable! When I confronted him about it, he said why was I bringing it up to him and that he would get back to me as to what happened. He never did. He refuses to accept my calls. Don't get fooled. Don't pick this place. read more

It's really tough for me to give a bad review but I felt compelled here. It's your decision in the end as I know there are many positive reviews here, but the sketch provided by the florist and color of the flowers for my wedding were NOTHING like what was delivered. And because I had no other options being that it happened the day of my wedding, I was stuck with the wrong color, wrong design and some flowers that were wilted by the end of the night. This includes flowers on the center pieces and the altar. Did the florist offer to resolve this situation? No, not one bit. Again it's your decision but you are taking your chances with this one - sometimes "you get what you pay for" rings very true! Go elsewhere, pay a little more if you can, and have some more comfort in delivery of a solid product. read more

Not being your typical bride, I waited until the last minute for everything, never thought about getting flowers which I know I needed but waited on that. I googled florists in my area called one and they told me they don't do centerpieces only, since when? So I came across A W Flowers so I decided to call them, the storefront is not very appealing but I decided to give it a try anyway. Boy am I glad I did. I met with Adam told him what I was looking for he quoted me a price which I thought was great and we scheduled another appointment for the sample views. His staff (Melissa I believe)also was wonderful, friendly and very professional. When I went for the samples, I have to admit I was a little scared only because I was early so when Adam got there he wasn't really ready for me so everything seemed a bit rushed and not to my expectations. Choosing AW Flowers for my wedding, was hands down one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. I first met with Adam 3 months before my wedding and I was very nervous I was going to be stuck paying an arm and a leg for my flowers because of my short timeline. He quoted less than half of what other florists were. I was nervous this low price would lead to sub-par flowers, but I could not have been more wrong. In our final meeting, a few weeks before the wedding, he did mock-ups of the bouquets which really made me feel comfortable with what I would be seeing on that day. He also happily accommodated several last minute requests for arch flowers, extra boutonnieres, and a few changes in the colors. He even let me keep the trial flowers! I was absolutely blown away on my wedding day by what I saw. At the end of the wedding, I encouraged all of my guests to take home the centerpieces and flowers which were set up around the venue. Two months now after my wedding, people are still telling me they have never seen flowers live so long after they took them home! I kept a few and they dried beautifully. The first thing that people will tell you when they recommend Adam from AW Flowers is that you cannot judge a book by its cover. Adam's shop is extremely small (it's really just a counter and refrigerator), and when I first saw it with my mom I did not know how Adam was going to do the flowers for our 175 person wedding. The second I met Adam, though, I knew we were in good hands. Adam was able to see my vision for our wedding before I did, and as he recommended flowers to me based off of the few pictures I showed him on Pinterest, I knew that we were working with someone with a multitude of expertise. After checking with many personal references that my mom was given, we decided to go with Adam. The flowers he picked for us were beautiful. His budget was extraordinary for what we got (unlike most places, he charges you for just the flowers, no outrageous up-charges), and the flowers lasted for a week after the wedding. My bouquet was full and elegant, the boutonnieres lasted the whole night, and people were fighting over the centerpieces when it was time to take them home at the end of the night! He was on time with bouquets and boutonnieres the day of, decorated the ceremony and reception area beautifully, responded to and perfectly executed all of my requests, and he even worked closely with my father-in-law to help him build the chuppa and make sure it could be assembled and decorated the way we wanted it to be. Not sure how this place has any bad reviews, with Adam especially. I got married in March 2016, and everything went so smooth. We met with Adam about 8 months before our wedding, when we met with him about 2 months before the wedding he remembered every single detail. The day of our wedding the flowers were on time, and perfect. He even saw our wedding cake and took the time to add some flowers to it to spruce it up a bit. I even felt bad that his prices are so reasonable but his flowers came out looking as if we spent thousands on them. We used A W for our August 2010 wedding, and couldn't have been more pleased. I searched in New Jersey and in the city, and was saddened by what I was able to get for centerpieces for the price, and what I wanted definitely wasn't in my floral budget after meeting with several florists. I found a few reviews for AW online and decided to meet with Adam. When I told him that I wanted high centerpieces, he said he could do it, and he was actually a little under my budget. When my then-fiance' and I went in for our "mock-up" we realized that Adam knew what we wanted, but because the full centerpiece wasn't created we had to use our imagination a little bit as to what they would look like. Adam was very thorough though in helping us decide what type of vase, if we wanted lights in the vases, what color crystals, etc. We also had coral as our primary color, which I discovered was difficult to find the right shade in regards to flowers. Adam told me two shades of roses he was going to order for me to take a look at in order to get it to match up with a fabric swatch that I gave to him. When I walked in to see the roses and how they would match up, they were PERFECT! The day of my wedding, Adam brought my bouquets and boutounieers to my house himself, as well as a water bottle to mist with, and explained to me about misting the bouquets. I still had no idea what my centerpieces were going to look like, but I was hoping for the best. When my husband and I walked into our reception hall and saw our centerpieces, they were BREATHTAKING! We couldn't believe how beautiful they were, especially for the price. We received so many compliments on our flowers that day, especially the centerpieces, and we couldn't have been happier. I'm still in shock of how poorly of a job Adam from A W flowers (Kearny, NJ) did for my recent wedding. Everything was horrible, it's like he went the cheapest way out to cut cost. First of all, he returned all my phone calls after numerous attempts to contact him. He seems like a nice guy when you first meet him but you can tell it's all an act by his sarcastic smile. I would just go with the flow because it was too late for me to go elsewhere. When he arrived with my bouquet and my bridesmaids', I didn't know how to react. The flowers were not bloomed - they looked dead and my bouquet and the girls were so tiny. Also, my bridal bouquet and MOH's bouquet were supposed to have rhinestones which they did but he only put like 4 so you can barely notice them. It's so heartbreaking because unfortunately you can't do anything after the fact. For the church, I had paid for 5 aisles with flower arrangements and I think he only did two (I have to confirm when I get my wedding video) and they looked horrible as well. It's like he used dead flowers :( My alter pieces and centerpieces didn't look so bad but you can see green leaves after I clearly said I wanted all white flowers NO green. I am so VERY disappointed that I didn't spend more money on my flowers and would have probably gotten exactly what I wanted instead of what Adam wanted for my wedding. I will definitely NOT recommend A W flowers to anyone. I should have known better after seeing the store when we first met and dealing with his assistants which are very unprofessional. I will say that Adam was referred to me by a friend that used him for her wedding but I guess her expectations weren't as high as mine. To add, Adam was supposed to provide me with votive candles included in the package and I was going to use as my place cards (which he knew). He was the one who offered to provide me with them - long story short, two days prior to the wedding he told me that he wasn't going to be able to get them for me and also told me that he was going to refund my money if I didn't show up with the balance - I was in shock! I didn't know what to say - how do you tell the bride, two days before the wedding that you are going to refund her money and won't be able to do the wedding for $500 bucks that was owed! So unprofessional! Mind you, he didn't provide the candles as promised and ended up costing me more to have to get them elsewhere two days prior to the wedding and then make 100 place cards the night before. LIAR AND NON PROFESSIONAL! Hired Adam for my daughters wedding. At first he was very charming, attentive and even suggested some creative ideas. We had met with Adam at least 4times to make sure that he understood exactly our expectations. My daughter has brought in pictures. Adam verbalized his understanding and the contract was drawn. After he had received a deposit, it was difficult to reach him on the phone and the calls were not returned. We had asked for tree branches for the arches, cascading peonies for the chuppah which would later adorn the sweetheart table, trunks with inserts for the guest cards and modest center pieces for the tables. Here is what we received on the day of the wedding: - few dry twigs on each side of the arch -instead of cascading peonies on top of the chuppah, Adam attached few small bouquets on each trunk of the Chuppah. So no flowers at the bridal table. -as the guests were arriving Adam and his helper were still chiseling inserts for the cards and left majority of the haphardly lying around Adam has lied to us. He took our money and had given us almost nothing. He has taken advantage of the situation because it was not the time to deal with him. My daughter wanted beautiful peonies at her wedding. He has robbed her of that dream. This person has no business dealing with people on the the most important day of ther lives. If I could rate him minus five stars I would. I walked into the flower shop with an idea and several photographs of what I thought I wanted and he created floral arrangements that resembled what was represented in those images.
