This was the first restaurant I dined at in Anzio, and the first meal I had after my flight. You can imagine how hungry I was !!! I highly recommend this restaurant. My aunt, uncle, and I do not speak Italian, but there were several servers who attended to us who knew English! Our server explained the menu, and once he asked us if we preferred fish/seafood or meat, he provided us with his recommendations for dishes. I ordered a tortello (stuffed with a cheese and seafood mixture). It was so tasty, and the pasta was definitely made fresh. My uncle ordered the seafood carbonara, which was an interesting take on the classic carbonara. It also used paccheri pasta rather than spaghetti. He reported that it wasn't his favorite carbonara he had, but it was still fantastic. My aunt got a salad, which we all shared, and chicken meatballs. The chicken meatballs were FANTASTIC and a must order. They came breaded, with a crispy outside, but were so juicy and tasty on the inside. The meatballs are placed on a maiz-based cream, topped with saffron. SOO GOOD!!! When we were ready for dessert, another server came over and shared the dessert options. We ordered tiramisu, which was perfect to share and end the meal. I really appreciated the servers who gave detailed recommendations, were patient when communicating with us. Overall I've found that many people in Anzio, due to tourism, speak at least some English, and everyone has been super friendly!

Started with the €20 antipasta which I regrettably shared. 12 finely crafted and presented dishes both warm and cold (crudo) ranging from a fried Bacala (cod) on a chickpea purée, a beautiful eggplant parmigiana, cous cous with calamari ...... salmon cheesecake. Amazing! Problem with the antipasta we enjoyed it so thoroughly I didn't have a chance for photos. Oh well. The mains ranged from a beautifully creamy risotto with gamberi an awesome grigliata mista (lobster, calamari, gamberi, spigola). An amazingly generous amount of lightly fried gamberi (pic). No room for dessert. That's ok. Will definitely return.

And yes, our dog was very welcome here! We took a table right in front, to enjoy the sun and the views. The menu is pretty small, but has something for everybody. It looks more like a kiosk/bar than a restaurant, so we didn't expect much from the food... but we were pleasantly surprised! We ordered two beer (nice and cold), Spaghetti and some grilled seafood. All for a reasonable price of 33 Euros. The grilled Shrimp and Calamari were really tasty, nice grill-flavour and most importantly: fresh! The Spaghetti were another nice surprise: A rich and thick sauce made of olives, pecorino cheese and pieces of pulpo. Cooked as it should be: al dente. Really interesting sauce, never had this one before, but works very well! Service was friendly and fast. A real nice surprise. More than you could expect from a beach bar & restaurants. Recommended!
