So I read the reviews and it seems people either loved this place or hated it. First to address the…read moreconcerns about the waitress. She is not overly friendly like you would see in an American establishment. Here they don't give a fake impression of friendliness. To be fair though she is a little unemotional, but not terrible. She definitely warms up when you show that you respect the Italian way. That leads me to the complainer who tried to return food and exchange it for something else. That is so obnoxiously American. The Italians believe that they are the e Peet's on Italian food ( which they are) and when you try to exchange something they see the problem with you, they do not feel that they should eat the cost of your mistake, so rightly so, in this culture, they were not happy. You should be thrilled that they went along with your insulting request. I showed up here 30 minutes after they opened and there was no issue, in fact there were already people in the restaurant when I got here. As for the food. I ordered my favorite wine which only came by the bottle, so when I asked if I could take it back to my room, she actually cracked a smile. I had Calamari it was fresh and was delicious. She didn't like me not ordering all of my food at once so at some point she took the menu thinking I was done after the calamari. When I pulled out the yelp pictures and told her what I wanted she explained that the picture had tomatoes but traditionally this dish came with a white sauce. I chose the traditional. For dessert I had ricotta and pears. My meal was delicious and my service was pretty good. I think the key is to make an effort to say something in Italian.

Thanks to our American Yelpers we decided to try this quaint little restaurant before flying back…read moreto Texas tomorrow morning. The food in Italy is something to rave about. We haven't had a bad meal in two weeks! This place ranks up there with the best of the best. Family owned and on a side street, this place is the bomb. Highly recommended! Italians dine late so us Texans like to eat dinner around 7:30pm local time which is their opening time. We were their first guests on a Friday evening and the restaurant began to get busier as we finished our meal. We decided to try the five course sampler and shared everything. The arugula salad over thinly sliced fresh tuna was our starter dish. Amazing! Second course was Italian salmon sashimi! Amazing! Third course was warm hummus miniature tacos. Pretty unusual as we have never had warm hummus. Amazing! We are getting full but the fourth course was egg pasta with cooked tuna in a tomato sauce. Holy cow Batman, crazy deliciousoso! 5th course was a cooked Bream Snapper with thin sliced potatoes. Amazing! BTW amazing really doesn't explain how good everything tastes. And drum roll please, for dessert we ordered the best Tiramisu we have ever tasted. God bless Italy and their many restaurants!! Overall an an awesome dining experience. Nicolo was our waiter and he is an all star too! Great service, great food, a cool little restaurant that when in Fiumicino near the airport you gotta try this place! Enjoy my fellow Yelpers! This place is Michelin level!!!

Our favorite was the tuna with some type of fried arugula. Great atmosphere as well. Menu was in Italian, but waitress helped us along.

The name says it all: "SALT" * Fish & Spirits. We walked by on Saturday at midnight when many other…read morerestaurants had closed looking for a pizza (we were still on Montreal time. The ceviche was what had caught my partner's eye so we had to go in. The restaurant is large opened and designed in a "industrial" motif. We're pleasantly greeted and assured that the kitchen was opened. Unfortunately no ceviche was available. A number of plates were recommended and accepted by us. A fish tartare, insalatina calamari and 2 arrosticino polpa (roasted octopus). The fish tartar was delicate and offset with bits of walnuts. The calamari of the insalatina were also delicate in a olive oil and basil sauce punctuated with cucumber (went well together). All three dishes were unique to us but the chef mentioned that they were quite common here. The chef would like to develop more of these small well priced staters for the menu for the late night dinner. We split a fettuccina gamberi e quan , which was fettuccine with fresh seafood cooked in a brown fish sauce again recommended for us and an excellent choice. The chef and his assistant came and talked to us after we had finished our meal. This was greatly appreciated and he answered our many questions that we had regarding his food, Italian food in general and life in Italy. He is well traveled having worked in England and France in a number of different cities. All in all pleasant atmosphere, positive and uplifting personnel made this a night to remember. An interesting side: one of the side rooms had the "fireplace " channel on a larger monitor which added to the decor.

Wow we're we shocked this was by far the BEST MEAL we had in Rome! Started with a ceviche that was very fresh and perfectly seasoned. Ordered the calamari and again perfectly cooked not greasy, chewy or bland! The best part was the main entrees my husband had the fettuccine with seafood, plenty of fresh seafood and perfectly cooked pasta! I forgot what mine was called but it was a pasta with a soy based sauce and again amazing!!! If you are even near this area EAT HERE YOU'll LOVE IT
