When I was a teenager a lifetime ago I was once told by a barber I have "outta been hair, outta been on a dog" and he wasn't totally wrong but, hey, I'm still kind of attached to it so I'm still picky about both the hair and the chin mullet and finding a shop that can do it all and do it well is priceless. Was up early and walked in earlier that my appointment and they took me in right away. Barber was excellent and informative. I am pretty particular about my flat top cut. The barber was on point . First time here . My nephew needed to haircut and my brother recommend this place. Chris was the barber name, nice guy helped me out a little with the haircut. My Brother told me just to say a 2 faded. Turns out you can't do they all over so the guy said he will leave it a little longer in top. Long story short! Barber was polite and focused during the visit. They do have "preference barbers" allowance and it's sweet seeing people coming in and working with barbers they're comfortable with. I used to be a Tucson resident but moved away years ago. My son is currently at the University of Arizona. I was driving around on a Saturday morning and passed by this barbershop. Saw the reviews and decided to give them a chance. I was very pleased with the quality of the haircut and the customer service. The barbers there were very nice and accommodating especially for a walk-in. I get the feeling their calendars are very busy with people who've made appointments. Buddha's is the place to be. I only wish I could find a place like this in Los Angeles that has great prices, great barbershop atmosphere and TVs set to guy's channels to keep you entertained while you wait. They give great haircuts, and Buddha and the guys will keep you laughing the entire time. If I lived in Tucson, this is the only place I would go to. They don't have all of the frills of a Floyd's, but the haircuts are better in my opinion. This is a barbershop, not a salon, which is fine by me. Buddha is a vet...and I support my fellow vets. And they have Fox News on...my kind of shop. This is, hands down, one of the best barber shops I've ever been to. I was so impressed I wrote a paper on it for my MBA, and I had never met the guys before I got a haircut there on a business trip. read more

5-stars with the caveat that I don't get anything fancy done. I get a "gentlemen's cut", but these guys nail it every time. Each time I've been it's been a different barber and none seem to have any issue cutting my hair the way I want it. And the price, at I believe $11, is great. Hands down, this has become my go-to barber. After searching for a couple years, it's nice to finally have a place to go. read more

Horrible experience! Went there today to cut my little brothers hair for his promotion and this so called barber put a bald spot on my brothers head from pushing the razor into his head and not taking his time. When asked he played it off cool like my brother been having it and I paid full price. The cut was $14 gave him $20 he had the nerve to try and keep the whole $20 as if he did a outstanding job. Lucky I was able to cover up the bald spot but I wouldn't recommend this place at all! Expecially if you're taking your kids. read more

My first time at this place and I liked it. There were 3-4 barbers and it should appeal to both an elderly crowd (11 buck senior discount, and older barbers) but I think it has something for all ages as I saw a young barber there too and they tend to do more "tricks" for the youngsters. They have a "take a number" system but I was taken before I sat down. My barber was cool, quiet and efficient. He did a good job and I felt like I'm in capable hands here. I usually see a regular barber but circumstances meant a change this time around, but I know Buddha's is my new standby. They have a TV on for distraction and everything went by in a good amount of time- not too fast, not too slow. I liked that he used scissors too and not just clippers (scissors just seem to work well for me) and a razor. read more

Very nice place. Old-school barbers to young hipsters, they could obviously take care of any hair cut desire. For me, any place that shows prices for basic haircuts ($10...very cheap) with only 2 additional lines...fade (not my style...for the kids of course) and flattop ($12, now you're talking...that's some old-school right there) is a winner in my book! Oh, and they had Fox News playing on the big screen TV...this place is a winner! read more

This place gives a great cut. You get everything you pay for to. It's pretty cheap and I can guarantee you'll get a much better haircut at one of those chain places that are not very good. The new bald guy gave me the worst haircut of my life. He hacked at my neck and left me with a bunch of bumps on my neck. Super aggressive with his clippers and he cut my hair like he was in a hurry. I just left Buddha's (1st time) , I'm new to Az, and I just happened on this shop without any recommendations.... When I walked in a woman was cutting someone's hair on first seat. The guy who uses the last seat (furthest from door) cur my hair. I don't know his name but he did an EXCELLENT job.... I'm losing my hair, and have a number of patches that usually become very visible after a haircut... I let him know this, and when he finished he handed me a mirror, and I quickly glanced at it (I didn't want to see those unwanted patches) When I got home my wife said the haircut looked great (I thought she was being nice) & she handed me a hand mirror and told me to look for myself... When I looked at the back of my head the expected patch wasn't visible!!! This guy did a great job of covering up the patches !!! I was do surprised by this haircut that I called to thank him (forgot to azk his name) He will be my regular barber for the rest of my stay here in Az. ! read more

I have lived in Tucson for twenty two years. At 86 I am the barbers joy-it does not take much time as my hair leaves the earth. I had a home in the foothills and used a barbershop in the Oracle and Ina area. It worked fine until the management closed the shop. At the same time we moved to a new home in the Fort Lowell-Swan area. I drove past Buddha's Barbershop and decided to take a chance. It was convenient and I became a continuous customer. I got a fresh taper here today. its a great place spacious welcoming and u even got some entertainment as well. Dont go spend 15 bucks at headliners when u can get a hook up here for 13. and how many barbers still use straigh razors? you also have your barbers who can do senior citizen cuts.
