Services were not bad but when it became clear that tips were expected as a matter of course, regardless of quality of service, I stopped going. Also, choosing a different barber because the regular one was unavailable was considered an act of disloyalty. In short, you get what you pay for. After a several attempts at getting my hair cut at other places around Rita Ranch and ending up with uneven hair, I decided to give Gentleman Jacks a try. After reading the reviews, I choose to make a reservation online to avoid any issues. I went for one of their first appointments of day. I got there a little early and the store was open before the posted hours - didn't have to wait outside for them to open the door. I explained what I wanted and the guy cutting my hair did exactly what I asked. He noted that my hair was uneven in several spots. The atmosphere is very chummy, it seems like all the barbers know their customers very well. Overall I really like the place, but like I said you get what you pay for. If you are not prepared for a $28 haircut that will take about 30 minutes then this might not be the place for you. read more

My husband recently came for a haircut and was very happy with the results. He has a cowlick that is quite difficult but the way his hair was cut it actually lays really well which is impressive by itself. The barber was very informative, even suggesting certain changes he could make to the cut because they could help the aesthetic or even make the cut last longer (who doesn't want that advice)! The price was definitely comparable the other barber shop locations which I can appreciate. Also, based on where we live this location being off Mary Ann Cleveland could not be better. The only complaint my husband had was the wait. He made an appointment and was waiting for at least 30 minutes past that time before he was called back to the chair. Well, why two stars? the place is very nice clean you get greeted right away. You have to make appointments or else they won't cut your hair, which is fine with me, I booked it and I didn't have a problem with that, they even offer you whiskey or beer or whatever which is nice, but at the end of the day what matters is a good haircut at a reasonable price. They are fucking expensive! $28 dollars for a haircut, for which if i closed my eyes and open my eyes and I am at a shit hole like Sports buzz cuts or Great clips and look in the mirror, is the same fucking haircut, i could have saved my money else where. The first time I walked in this place, there were 3 barbers and 2 customers. I took a seat and was approached by one of the barbers. He asked if I had an appointment and I told him I didn't. He did offer to book an appointment for me. Apparently, they flat out don't accept walk ins. I would think for a first time client, they would try to accommodate me, especially when one barber is idle! However, my last visit to Supercuts, I was in that chair for 8 minutes (+ or - a few seconds). I am thinking why? 8 mins? Then I paid for what? A low grade haircut. I had a great experience yesterday getting my hair cut at the new Gentleman Jacks barber shop in Vail. I made an appointment online using their very easy online app. I really appreciate being able to make reservations instead of showing up and waiting. Alex, my barber, went out of his way to get my haircut just right. Very nice barbershop. Clean with water, coffee and even a shot of whisky if you want. Only negative was the cost ($24), $9 more than my old barber but in my mind, with the location and being able to make a reservation, worth the cost. Only true barber in the Vail area.
