Unfortunately, my barber was still working on his prior appointment. No problem as the offered me a cold drink from the fridge. The had Mordelo beer or Diet Cokes. I had a Diet Coke. We got started about 15 minutes late. He asked how I wanted it cut and explained that I like it tight on the sides, etc. he asked me a couple more questions to clarify and he went to work. We made a little small talk while each barber's workspace had their tv's playing. But for example, he's been cutting hair for about 8 years and had two kiddos. Not from Tucson but says it's growing on him. My favorite part comes at the end. You get a wet razor around the ears, a hot towel and a short shoulder massage that helps you relax! She missed a pretty big area on the left top side of my hair, so when it grew out my left side bangs were an inch longer than the right side. But aside from that I had no complaints and my hair looked decent for a while. This second time I went in just for trim, and she chopped more than half of my hair off. I showed reference pictures and gave what I thought were good descriptions of what I wanted. She even had one picture up on the table to look at while cutting and the result came out awful. My hair came out 2.5 inches shorter than what I wanted, which is a huge amount for my style. I asked for layers, and she thinned out my hair with a razor and left some long strands of hair in the back to mimic the style of one of the reference pictures. She also asked me zero clarifying or follow-up questions about what I wanted before and during the cut so I assumed she understood my requests. my hair was already in a similar style to the reference picture so I just wanted a trim and clean-up on the sides and back, for some reason that was taken as cut most of my length and thickness off. I would not recommend coming if you are looking for stylistic asian men hair cuts. Shes ok at doing perms but any good salon would know how to perm hair. This cut was so upsetting.
