Shrimp Pesto Pizza and the Sampler Trio!
Dan K.

Wonderful place for homemade, hot, fresh delicious Italian food, served with a smile. Tried something different with the 12" Shrimp Pesto pizza. The shrimp was perfectly cooked with supremely gooey melted mozzarella. Generous helping (but not overwhelming) of pesto "schmeared" across the hand-tossed crust provided a sturdy foundation for each slice. We also ordered the Sampler Trio. Three fried mozzarella sticks, three fried raviolis, and 4 chicken wings. Accompanying the trio were good-sized tubs of marinara sauce and buffalo sauce. My only complaint here would be the size of the wings. They were on the smallish side - I can't be disappointed, though, as the chef added the 4th wing even though the menu states 3 wings. The mozzarella sticks are from fresh mozzarella, superbly fried with a satisfying crunchy batter that compliments the cheese nicely. Same can be said with the ravioli. Homemade ravioli stuffed with fresh ricotta, and like its mozzarella dish mate, was perfectly battered and fried. "A Touch of Basil" is looking to get their beer/wine license within the next couple of weeks (hopefully by July 4th!), so you will be able to complete your dining experience with a cold beer or glass of wine. But don't let that hold you back from stopping in now! Ice cold soda, tea, and water are aplenty. A steady stream of customers came through the door to dine-in, grab take-out, or pick-up phoned-in orders*. *Insider tip...as we all know so well, parking in Cocoa Beach along A1A is a nightmare. You can park temporarily in the back employee parking to for carry-out and phone-in orders. We'll be back with friends and family!

Really good pizza! Quick service. We ordered takeout so didn't get to experience the ambiance.

Menu

I seek out pizza places like this one. We landed in Florida and drove an hour to try it. We decided on the supreme Bianca style. The oven is old style stone not conveyor! The pizza hand tossed and the oven tender made the crust perfect. Light char, a little pull to the crust and crispy. The topping were ample without making it a soggy mess. Fresh vegetables and quality meats and pizza making skills made a great pie.

The restaurant is very big and it looked like they had a large room in the back if you have a group of 10 or more. It is ideal for families but you have to ask what's on the kids menu. They have one just not printed out. We went with the Alfredo Pasta with chicken for the kids and one order could have feed three people. The portions are huge so go into your lunch or dinner knowing that. We didn't go for the pizza because our server recommended the lunch calzone which was about the size of my head. Not joking at all. He said the dough was made from scratch and you could tell in the craftsmanship of the cooks in the back. Conveniently located Just a stone's throw from the cruise port, Zarrella's is an ideal stop for travelers looking to enjoy a hearty meal before heading out to sea. It was also walkable from almost every hotel. Zarrella's Italian & Wood Fired Pizza stands out for its authentic flavors, welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it's a great spot to savor some Italian comfort food.

It sits right on A1A in Cape Canaveral, just beyond the traffic light as you cross the Cruise Ship Terminal. Parking is plentiful, easy to access, and easy to get in and out of. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and inviting. The service was top-notch, and our waiters were extremely knowledgeable about the menu, including how everything was prepared. One thing that really stood out to me was the freshness of the food. There are no heating lamps keeping plates warm and no "Chef Mike" (microwave) shortcuts. Everything is made to order, exactly the way you want it. They have a great regular menu, but they also offer specials, which is what I went with. I had the NY Strip special, and it was cooked to perfection! The steak was incredibly well-seasoned and paired with a zucchini and squash medley that tasted like it had just the right touch of truffle oil and garlic. It was seasoned perfectly. I normally don't eat zucchini or squash unless they're prepared a certain way, and this was exactly how I like them. Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend stopping in and giving this place a try. Be sure to take a look around at all the space-related items throughout the restaurant--they add a really cool Cape Canaveral touch to the experience. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and a memorable evening. You won't be disappointed!

From the moment we walked in, you could tell this was a truly locally owned place with original recipes and a real love for the people they serve. Our server Reesa was incredibly kind and attentive. She somehow struck that perfect balance of being there whenever we needed something without ever interrupting our conversation as a family. That's not always easy to do, but she nailed it. She also made a great recommendation for us. We ended up getting a half cheese, half New Yorker pizza, and it was fantastic. I was planning to stop at two slices...that plan did not survive. And definitely don't skip the garlic knots. Super fresh, rich with garlic, herbs, and flavor, and absolutely worth adding to the order. If you're in the north Melbourne area and haven't tried this place yet, do yourself a favor and stop in. Great food, genuinely kind people, and the kind of local spot you're glad you found. We'll definitely be back

4/5 Stars -- Incredible Food, but the Atmosphere Needs Some Love!…read more The food here was absolutely fantastic, but unfortunately, the dining experience itself left a little to be desired. The restaurant is noticeably dated, has no character or decorations with tables positioned far too close together, making the overall atmosphere feel cramped and uncomfortable. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and friendly, but unfortunately, she seemed unfamiliar with much of the menu. We eventually needed assistance from a manager to answer some of our questions. Now, let's talk about the FOOD, because that's where this place truly shines! We started with the Caesar salad, and the portion was enormous! Fresh romaine, plenty of shaved Parmesan, crunchy croutons, and a generous amount of delicious Caesar dressing. Definitely a great salad for sharing! Next came my very first deep-dish pizza, and OH MY GOD! I have never seen so much cheese in my life! If you're a cheese lover like me, this is an absolute must-try. The pizza was overflowing with gooey, melted cheese, stuffed with different meats, and topped with a fantastic, flavorful tomato sauce. The slice was so massive and filling that it literally took me THREE DAYS to finish it! It was rich, indulgent, and absolutely incredible. We also ordered the Peruvian wings, and they were excellent! Beautifully seasoned with a flavorful dry rub, just the right amount of spice, and cooked with a delicious char on the outside. But the real star? That Peruvian green sauce served on the side. I could have practically DRANK it! Seriously, it was that good. Overall, the food easily deserves five stars. Everything we ordered was flavorful, generously portioned, and memorable. Unfortunately, the dated, cramped dining room and lack of menu knowledge from our server brought the overall experience down to four stars. Would I return? Absolutely, for the food! I just wish the atmosphere matched the quality coming out of that kitchen. I'll definitely get it to go next time.
