I gave dave 4 thousand dollars to paint an empty 800 square foot condo with no furniture and he didn't finish painting kitchen or hallways or closet shelves. It was an easy job. But it was a nightmare. I have a list a mile long. The straw that broke the camels back was him doing something simple like putting a rod in my closet to hang my cloths. Well I put my last piece of clothing on rod and the whole closet rods and brackets came out of wall on top of me. He came back after his vacation 1 week later and fixed it then he measured wrong and I couldn't open the drawers from dresser inside of closet that he knew I had to open the drawers. So that being said I couldn't trust Dave installing my cabinets for premier. He can't even hang a closet rod let alone cabinets. Hit or miss kinda a guy. Live and learn. Reviews are for a reason. Next time I will listen. That was a lot of money for me Beware.

We started with an idea of what we were looking to do. Didn't really know what was feasible or attainable with our space. Pete showed up, reviewed the space and dimensions, took notes on everything we were really looking to get out of the space. He didn't just take down the specific things we asked for but everything we were really hoping to be able to enjoy about the space once done. He sent over designs and reviewed them with us together, had no problem with the numerous adjustments we made along the way. Not just from things we wanted to change about them, but ideas he brought up that would work really well in the space as well. Much of which we didn't even know existed. Given this was going to be a massive update to our kitchen, den, laundry room and mud room; going in we were definitely anxious about how everything would ultimately play out. However Pete communicated the timeline, how it would all take place in which periods, and what to expect along the way. Everyone performing the brunt of the work our direct employees as well. The painters and flooring are from separate companies, but they're all friends and every one of them is friendly as can be. It was comforting knowing that the largest percentage of the work performed was by direct employees and not subcontracted help. Lastly, Pete's pricing structure is top notch. It is broken apart in multiple phases. Our's was a big job, so it was 5 chunks with the first roughly a third of the cost in the first chunk (not sure if that's how it works for all jobs, just our experience with this one). With the last 4 payments being paid AFTER each phase was completed. This form of payment breakdown is also the sign of a well established contractor that knows exactly what he can deliver and when, truly putting his money where his mouth is. We've already discussed other areas of the house we're looking to update in the near future and can't wait to see them come back. Thank you so much again Pete, Chris, Mike and Tim! P.S. I should have guessed when I tried to schedule with him, and he asked me to remind him the…read moreafternoon before. I sent him pictures of the jobs we wanted him to do, which he acknowledged, saying that it looked like a full day's worth of work. I reminded him the afternoon before, as requested, and he then told me he had another job in the morning. He then texted me the morning of and asked if he could bring a helper, doubling the hourly rate but getting more done more quickly. I approved (stupidly). He then showed up and asked me if they were going to be working inside or outside (all of the jobs I had texted him about and sent pictures for were obviously inside). I walked him through it, and he told me he could do all of the work. Fast forward to when the work was completed (poorly). My wife called him to complain about the way his guys left things, and he started trying to pit my wife and I against each other. He changed his story several times--despite the fact that most of our communication was via text, so I had records of it--and tried to paint me as the bad guy to my wife. To his credit, he wound up coming out to try to fix some of the problems himself. However, he wasn't able to fix much of it the day he came, and he offered to get us a discounted quote on fixing the rest of it. We declined. He explained on this last day (after the fact) that it is difficult to exactly match paint colors (for covering patches he did on the walls) and that he wasn't able to tack down the area of carpet we had asked him to on the first day because he isn't a carpet-layer. Had he explained these two things upfront--and had he not engaged in all of the emotionally manipulative b.s.--this review may have been different. As it is, I wouldn't recommend hiring him for any more-involved work. If you need a cabinet fixed or bathroom hardware mounted, he's probably a fine candidate. For anything more complicated, my experience leads me to recommend going in a different direction. Photos are of "completed" work.

Chris invited me to visit the company's shop before making my final decision. He welcomed me in, proudly shared their work, and even had a walnut sample made for me! That sealed the deal. They are true artisans. Long story short, I ended up hiring them not only for the cabinets, but for the entire kitchen remodel from countertops to lighting, electrical, painting, and appliance installation. They brought great ideas to the project -- and did it all in less than 3 weeks!
