I have been taking my clothes to A+ Tailor (across from the mall) for months and have been very pleased with the quality and professionalism of the work. It seems many people confuse a tailor with a seamstress, not realizing the difference in quality and time for custom tailoring. The woman who owns this business is not a seamstress, she is a tailor, and she approaches her work from a professional tailor's viewpoint, such as the strength of the thread, whether or not the edges of the hem are to be turned under, and even the curvature of a person's body (most people are not symmetrical). She always explains what is involved in an order, and sometimes, the quality/time of the work involved is greater than what the customer might have expected or even wanted. The best comparison I can make is between having a handyman do a quick fix-it job or getting a professional to do a more advanced repair. Some jobs are just right for a handyman (compare to a seamstress putting in a hem or sewing on a button) and sometimes you need a professional (electrical, plumbing, etc). The owner of A+ Tailor is not the equivalent of handyman, and some of the people who come in really just need a handyman and not a professional. She does not compromise her work for them and tries to let them know if she's not what they need. I happened to be picking up an order recently and walked in while a disgruntled man was insisting on a particular job being done the way he wanted. The owner explained to him what would be involved on her part and that the time spent on it would be more expensive than what the garment was worth. He was disrespectful and demanding, and she told him she would be uncomfortable doing business with him. As he left, she said she was sorry not to be able to help and wished him luck. He cut her off and said, "Stop right there." I think he was surprised she had turned down his business. The only one who was disrespectful was the man. I'm glad to do business with A+ tailoring and I enjoy working with a professional who has high standards. read more

Sung is hands down the best! She's so skilled at tailoring and her prices are extremely reasonable. She's done regular clothes for me, and my wedding dress. Can't recommend her enough! When I took her my wedding dress for alterations, I had no idea the construction of the dress would require such extensive reworking. In addition to taking in the sides and sewing cups in the bust, the hem turned into quite a project. She literally took off each layer of the tiered lace, repositioned it, redid the gathers, and put it back together again so that the layers would become gradually narrow. It took a little more work than she initially projected, but Sung refused to charge me more than the initial quote. I went back in a week (shocked, right?) and it fit *like a glove* ... and the french bustle she made for the train -- WOW. She fashioned it with a dozen hidden snaps -- it was so beautiful. Unfortunately my dress got a small rip at the wedding (too much dancing!) and Sung repaired it no charge -- so sweet. My husband and I take all of our vintage AND new clothing here, including jeans, trousers, skirts, and shirts. Since I'm rather short and petite but still curvy, but Sung manages to make sure everything looks like it was made for me. Every time I go in to pick up my garments I always say "it's perfect." The prices are also much better than many other tailors in town. Like I said -- can't recommend her enough! read more

I recently lost a ton of weight (size 16 to 4), so treated myself to San Marcos Outlets a couple weekends ago and bought tons of jeans and pants on sale (pennies on the dollar, folks) - but they were all either too long or big in the waist. That's what I get for getting pants that are less than $10. :) On a recommendation from a friend who recently got her bridesmaid's dress tailored there, I stopped by with a closetful of clothes. Sung carefully took the time to do fittings on each pair and even let me borrow her shoes to get the length on the pants' hem just right. Now, I've gotten clothes altered before and it's always been a couple of weeks of turnaround time. Since I had 10 pairs of pants, I just assumed it was going to be 2 weeks, at the very least. Sung takes down my information and asks me when I need them - I tell her that it's no big hurry - and she says, "okie dokie, how about this weekend?" I was floored! She was going to have all 10 pairs of my pants done in 3 days! I happily (but skeptically) returned in 3 days - and still couldn't believe that she had them all done and ready to go! To me, the most impressive thing was the speed and quality of work. I'm wearing them right now and they really feel like they were tailor made! Going to go back as soon as I can - just another excuse to go shopping! read more

Really reasonable rates and she's really quick. Dillards recommended that I take my suit to her, and Sung had it done in a few days -- which is saying a lot, considering that I bought the suit on clearance and she basically had to make me a tailor-made suit out of the original. Dillards says that they send all their customers to her and she even gave me 20% off. Can't say enough good things about A+ tailor. Oh, just a note, this is the A+ tailor across the street from the mall and next door to the Eyemasters. I accidentally took it to the other A+ Tailor (one that was inside a dry cleaners) -- but the guy was so rude and the place was dirty and cramped. A lot of people think that it's owned by the same people, but they're owned by completely separate people and have no affiliation. read more

I'm pretty picky about my clothes and so my brother recommended that I go here. He's a cop who gets all of his uniforms altered here, and for this recommendation, I will forever be in his debt. I'm going to follow suit here and begin by saying that Sung is great. She's really friendly and knows what she's doing. During the fitting, I don't know what exactly she did, but when she was done pinning and measuring, she was able to show me what my suit would like and it looked like a million dollars. From past experience, I expected a 4 week turnaround, but she had it ready for me in 3 days. Price is very reasonable and the work is excellent. I cannot recommend her highly enough. I've stopped looking for a tailor because I've found the best in Dallas. read more

We go here all the time for all my family's tailoring/alteration needs -- which means that I am in here at least once a week with one type of crisis or another. One week it's my husband's suit that he needs in 3 days because of a last minute business trip, the next it's my daughter's homecoming dress that needs to be taken in and hemmed, and the week after that is a visit to A+ to get my boys' uniform pants hemmed. Sung is always fast and really accommodating, both with her pricing and timeline. Because of my height, I've always had to get my pants hemmed -- but when I take them to Sung, they look like the original pant with no alterations done on it. 5 days before my wedding + nightmare situation with Alfred Angelos (they're not worth the savings - but that's another story) = A+ Tailor to the rescue! Long story short, after hearing about my ordeal, a co-worker recommended that I take my dress to A+ Tailor to see if they could help. The nice Asian lady seemed shocked that my wedding was in 5 days and my dress was still a boxy mess. Without wasting a minute, she started working and did what Alfred Angelos had said would take four weeks in 2.5 days! I don't know how, but it was perfection. And the best part was that it was cheaper here than what the bridal store had quoted me! Will be coming here for all my tailoring/alterations needs! read more

I had just bought a suit from Dillard's and was recommended to come here for my alterations for my pants. That lady was the most unprofessional person I have ever met, I hope she wasn't the owner. I felt belittled and she seemed to mock me when I couldn't understand what she was saying because she talked so low. She didn't bother to come to the front to ask me what I needed, she continued to work as I explained what I needed and then scoffed and said she was booked through October! Certainly not with that attitude. Completely unprofessional and rude, first and last time going here! If I could give her zero stars I would. read more

I took my Vera Wang wedding dress here last minute (I needed it in 3 weeks!) and she was welcoming, accommodating, and fitted me several times to make sure it was exactly to my liking.
