I was not expecting much since my previous shellac was all peeled off and I just wanted to find a place to do a quick mani. I walked in an was immediately greeted by friendly staff. Honestly, I walked by this place so many times and I always thought eh, not sure if I want to go inside. For only $30 (tax included), i got a full shellac manicure (and removal of previous colour) in less than an hour. I thought this was a pretty good price for a downtown location. The staff were really accommodating, even though their English wasn't good they tried really hard to help me find the colours i wanted. The shellac was not clumpy and there is absolutely no flooding near my nail beds. For the price, i think it was a pretty well done job. But if youre looking for a high end shellac or gel mani/nail art i suggest you look elsewhere.

He does a really good job shaping and filing the nail. Knocked off one star only because I have had bad experiences here with other nail techs; sloppy paint jobs, gel lifting& peeling off. I sit down and show my technician (her name tag at her station said helen) the picture she said she could do it. It's a lot of different colours. Her colleague and I spent like 10 min choosing them all to match the pic. Once we get started the girl next to her (she spoke English really well didn't get her name, she was very rude) went that'll be $5 extra cus it's REALLY time consuming. So I went ok. What if we just make the mismatched colours the same on both hand? Extra charge then? She said no. Cool! The whole service took an hour and a half. (Very very. Long for a shellac polish change and removal). She didn't even get off all the bio gel!! So my nails are shaped all weird. When she was done I took a look at her shaping and most of the nails were super uneven. I pointed it out and she tried again but it didn't help much. They look really amateur like I did them myself. So disappointing. (The matte top coat also burned like hell under the lamp. Is that normal??) So to top it all off, I go to pay and another girl is at the register and she says $37. $37? What we agreed to 30? She's like the extra colours were an extra charge. I had to remind them that we had agreed that it wouldn't be an extra charge?? I've been before and had seen another guy. When her other co worker came in, she sat right next to us and they started having a whole conversation in mandarin with each other. Her attention to detail is not the best, and when I was told to wash my hands, I noticed one finger had a chip already, and asked her very politely if she can fix that one corner; in mandarin she said I was meddlesome, which is pretty much the same saying in Cantonese, as she proceeded to fix my nail. Maybe if she had paid more attention to her own work and stopped talking and getting distracted with her co worker, then she wouldn't have done such a sloppy job. Now I understand why the other 3-4 nails salons on the same floor were busy, except for this one. Won't be back.

She's gentle and puts in a lot of time and effort to clean my cuticles and everything. She really puts in a lot of attention and detail to the work. All of my nails turned white after the polish chipped off. They told me it was due to expired nail polish. Can you imagine - new salon/expired nail polish?? The last time I was there, I noticed that the staff tried to skip an important part of pedicure and did a very lazy scrub! Furthermore, I just noticed on their receipt that they apply sales tax to your tips too, which is totally ILLEGAL!!! I will call & let them know. It better be corrected or my next call will be to CRA. The most disturbing fact was she used the same set of instruments on my hand nails, as she used during my pedicure. I also observed that at the end she scrubbed them under running water for about 5 seconds & put them back in her container. The instruments were not taken for sterilization and will be likely used on the next customer. Seeing all this killed all of my trust in them! I would advise anyone NOT to go there if you don't want to end up with some kind of nail decease!!

Decided to check out Nail and Beauty Station after reading the other reviews and honestly, I was not disappointed! At first glance, the establishment was very clean with a cute interior design. Lindy was the one who did my nails - she was super nice, professional, and extremely patient with me, especially when I was trying to describe exactly how I wanted my nails shaped. She also helped choose the colour, which I am a big fan of! I had a full set of bio gel nails done, and couldn't be happier about the result. Definitely coming back soon for my refills (they also gave me a point loyalty card). I've previously been to a few salons in the past that for some reason, always managed to slightly knick my cuticle a little bit which led to some bleeding, but no problems here!
