Ok so I went to visit Sage Salon today so I can have my hair done for New Years Eve. I bought the…read moreLiving Social deal they had for $25, so I said what the heck, I really didn't feel like doing my own hair. The place is really nice, warm, relaxing, and inviting. The receptionist was nice and friendly as well as everyone else. My hair washer was nice but nearly scrubbed my head to death, she was scrubbing really hard that it hurt, thankfully she asked if it was to hard and she eased down a bit. But she didn't use a detangling shampoo on my hair therefore it tangled all up. She asked me if my hair tangles this much and I told her not usually because I use a detangling shampoo and I always comb my hair out before washing it which she never did which resulted in my hair being a big tangled mess after she washed it. When she was trying to comb it out I could tell she was having a hard time and she tried ripping my hair apart which I could hear my strands of hair being pulled apart and she did not finish getting the tangles out of my hair before putting me in the dryer for a deep conditioning. My hair washer was black like me so I would have thought she would understand how to wash my hair properly. Oh and some of the shampoo actually smelled like smarties candy, lol. My hairdresser Amanda was really cool, she blew my hair really straight to where it already looked press, so I really liked that. Amanda's work if very articulate she really takes the time to make sure she does everything to near perfection. She did a good job on trimming my ends, although I really didn't care for the hairstyle. But for $25 it was nice to get my hair washed and straighten. The flat iron left my hair smelling a little burnt. They use Aveda hair care products which worked on my hair nice. So all in all, for the first time I think they did good, I think I will try them again in the future maybe. Update: they used my contact info to send me emails which I never agreed to, as well as text messages. I hate when companies do this, it's quite annoying.

I…read moremade an appointment for a mani/pedi based on a recommendation from my sister who lives in the area and could not be more happy with the service or the genuinely nice people who work here. I arrived wearing a mask and was asked a series of health questions to ensure the safety of employees and clients. The girl asking the questions was both polite and professional. The salon is spotless. No dust or hair on the floor or the retail shelves. While waiting for my service I observed tons of cleaning going on with an emphasis on high-traffic touch points. The pedicure chair was comfortable and had a nice massage feature. Each pedicure chair was separated by a clear shield so you could still see everyone around you. All employees were wearing a mask, and more importantly, wearing them the correct way. I didn't see a nose or a mouth the entire time I was there, LOL!!! I was fortunate to have an appointment with Lindsay. In a nutshell, she's fabulous. Besides being very friendly and easy to chat with, her work is immaculate and precise. I've never had anyone pay such attention to detail when doing a pedicure. My nails were cut and filed gently. After applying the polish to each nail, Lindsay painstakingly used a brush soaked in acetone around each nail plate to ensure there was no bleedover of color. Calluses were smoothed over and I was given the choice of warm towels and a shorter foot massage or no towels and a longer foot massage. Who wouldn't choose the longer foot massage???? My manicure was just as good. All the filing is done by hand, which is a lost art these days and something you definitely don't get at an average nail place. Lindsay took her time and shaped my nails exactly how I asked and made them as short as I wanted them with no complaints, all the while making great conversation and making me feel at home and relaxed. This was my first post-covid manicure and my cuticles were a mess. Lindsay was gentle but determined to get them cleaned up correctly. After weeks of quarantine, my first salon visit was truly a treat. I walked in as a new customer and left being a new client. Thanks for a fabulous experience, Lindsay!

Service Quality - My highlights came out yellow/orange and uneven, without proper toning or blending. The stylist also did not provide the blowout that was part of the service, and I was sent home with wet hair. 2. Follow-Up Visit - I had to return the next day just to receive a toner, yet again I left with wet hair. For the price, I expected a polished, finished look, not multiple trips and unfinished service. 3. Customer Care - When I raised my concerns with management, instead of an apology or solution, I was told that the stylist "shouldn't have taken me because she stayed late." This response felt dismissive and unprofessional. Overall, I left feeling undervalued as a customer, despite the significant amount of money and time spent. A simple acknowledgment and correction would have gone a long way, but unfortunately, that never happened. Emily, Hair Stylist and Kelly management/owner.

There's a lot of "chain" options in the area - Mario TRICOCI and to some extent Jeffrey lamorte but the attention I get and the knowledge shared by the stylists is truly unparalleled. I've seen Carolyn, Julia, and Kay and each has brought their true A game. Carolyn is the business owner and you can tell she creates an environment where her stylists are respected and respectful of each other! I mean how many salon chairs have you sat in and observed petty fighting? I've always been so relaxed and honestly enjoyed my time there chatting in the intimate and beautifully designed space. Its aesthetic is truly precious and perfect for downtown Frankfort. Carolyn was so excited to have me see Julia, a newer stylist and holy cow she did not lead me wrong! I have hand tied extensions installed by Julia and honestly I feel like a goddess. The waves and styling after the installation were perfection. Kay has also done an installation for me and I never felt more confident as when I walked out of the salon. I asked for kacey musgraves and while they couldn't replace my vocal cords, they could give me her hair so I could pretend As a city expat, I was worried when I moved to the burbs that I'd miss out on the "latest and greatest" in hairstyle fashion, but Carolyn and her team could be easily transplanted to a high end salon in the most cosmopolitan of cities. If you want Kate gosselin, I mean I'm sure they'd do it for you if you asked lol but trust you will not unintentionally walk out renamed Karen. Lastly I've been going pre and post covid, I've felt that the precautions they've been taking to make me feel safe are more than adequate and I am very conservative in terms of the places I'm willing to go. So if you want to support a small business, get some nice relaxation, and feel like the stylists are just as excited as you are for your new look, Mackenzie hair parlor is def the place for you.

There's some street parking right out front and on the side street, but if it's a beautiful day, I would park a little further and try to decide to which restaurant you would like to take the new you after your appointment. The actual salon is the perfect mix of boho chic and eclectic glam. It feels like a vacation home that I would love to spend a weekend (ok a week) with the girls. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. I always feel like I'm part of the family when I'm there. They offer you refreshments as well. I believe they offer water, wine, and coffee. I always have coffee so I never really pay much attention to the other offerings to be honest. Julie has been my stylist for years. She's extremely knowledgeable, patient, honest and her skills are beyond compare. I'm one of those people who always wants something different and sometimes my requests are off the wall. She always takes the time to listen to my requests and add in her own suggestions as well. She takes into account my lifestyle, maintenance needs, hair texture, face shape, and skin tone. I always know that no matter what I request, she'll always nail it or at the very least if I've asked for something that won't work for me or my lifestyle, she will find a happy compromise. I value her insight as a professional and she never steers me wrong. She's also just a really great person to talk to while I'm in the chair. And she's really funny if you get her going! Overall, give MacKenzie Hair Parlor a try and you'll no longer wonder what your hair has been missing!!!

Everyone was very friendly and kind, and I was even able to book a last-minute appointment to have my eyebrows done, which I appreciated. However, the cost of the nail services is insanely high compared to nearby salons. I paid $92 for a simple solid blue color, and my nails started chipping just four days later. About a week later, one nail actually began peeling off, so I called and gave them the opportunity to fix it. I also mentioned fixing my eyebrows, as they were not shaped and I was never given a mirror to see the final result. I was scheduled to come back two weeks later (keeping in mind that I called only one week after the chipping started). I asked if I would be charged for the chipped nails and was told yes, because I was outside of their "two-week window" -- even though I had already called a week earlier. At that point, I was going to be charged around $45 just to fix the chips, which is nearly the cost of a new set elsewhere. I ultimately canceled my appointment, especially since I was never informed during my initial call that I would be charged to fix the chipped nails

I originally started visiting Charles Morris Salon due to good reviews from family. I first started…read morevisiting and had good experiences with the staff for eyebrow appointments. Before a vacation I booked to get a full set of eyelashes, facial, and haircut with toner added. First, I had shown up to my hair appointment with Eleni. She refused to perform a toner on my hair because she said that I do not understand what a toner is and it does not change the color of my hair. I reiterated that I understand a toner does not change the color of my hair but can take out brassy tones and only lasts a few weeks at most; in addition I have had my hair toned many times by other salons with no issues. Once we got to the bowl to wash my hair, she had rinsed my hair but then abruptly stopped because she said at that point she would prefer to do an all over semi- permanent color. Once we got back to the chair she then said that she will not dye my hair at all, but she can perform a simple cut because she no longer had time to perform my scheduled services ... then sprayed my hair with a water mist in order to do so. I did then agree to get a cut. The cut was an uneven blunt cut, upon arriving home my best-friend asked me why I would take scissors to my own hair due to how uneven and crooked the cut was. The next day I arrived to get my eyelashes done with Bella. I had followed the aftercare instructions as this is also not my first time getting eyelash extensions done; they all fell off less than two days later. The photo provided is one day after the eyelashes were done. Additionally, the salon was selling handmade air fresheners which I had purchased for my brand new car that is less than one month old. About a week later, it had been a hot day and the oil from the air freshener had spilt all over my car. When I went to gently wipe the oil off, it also took off the finishing of my vehicle. I then attempted to get into contact with the store manager for over one week, I had called three times and left my name and phone number. I was promised a call back all three times, but had never received one. I then was able to call when the manager Sabrina was in store (4 calls at this point), where she told me the store does not give any kind of refunds, but I can come get my hair fixed by another stylist. I also offered to send her photos of my hair and car, but she said she will only look at those things in person. She also told me she checked the cameras and that I was taken to a bowl (not what I was arguing.. yes she did take me to a bowl, but she never actually washed my hair) and that I must have mis-used the car air freshener. Overall, I felt the manager was not sympathetic or apologetic for the situation in any regards. I had never shown up to a hair appointment and been refused a service which was booked and not had one service be done in entirely or with a professional who I did not feel was there to help me feel and look my best. I shared my story with close friends, my best friend also had her lashes done at this salon around same time as we were going on vacation together and hers also fell out. My sister then shared she had a bad experience with a haircut, and my manager shared that she had a bad coloring experience and service experience with the store manager, so she switched salons. To conclude, please be aware before taking your money to this salon. Unfortunately, my brand new may 2026 vehicle is not repairable. I did take my business to another salon who were able to fix my haircut and had no problem toning my hair to get my desired effects.
