Where do I begin. I have been coming to Sona Bella for years. I have never had one bad experience. I have had services done by Beth that have included hair cuts, hair gloss, and she has even worked her magic and made me look pretty for special occasions. Cecilia introduced me to facials...which seriously changed my life and can't believe I have waited so long to get them :) She has also given great advice when it comes to taken care of my skin. So of course when it came to getting my make up done on my wedding day, I did not hesitate to come to Sona Bella. Words can not describe how happy and beautiful I felt after Cecilia had worked her magic on me. My trial was so much fun and the other girls that work there helped and even gave their opinions, which helped as well. I was worried because I don't really wear a lot of make up and everyone tells you that you have to wear more make up than usual so you stand out in pictures. Well...they were right. I was hesitant at first, but then remembered whose hand the make up brush was in. Cecilia listened to everything I said I wanted and also gave her opinion. She will tell you if something does not look right. And don't be afraid to tell her you don't like something. She is more than willing to do whatever you want done, but will also steer you in the right direction if you seem to get off track. Cecilia isn't just there to do her job, she is there to make sure you look and feel the prettiest you have ever felt. My bridesmaid are like me and do not wear a lot of make up, and they were so extremely happy how their make up turned out. I actually had one bridesmaid that was not going to get her make up done but after she saw the amazing job Cecilia was doing, she changed her mind real quick. A lot of us got our make up airbrushed, which I highly recommend. MY MOM EVEN GOT HER MAKE UP DONE. And that is saying a lot. She has worn the same make up for close to her whole life!! This is a fabulous facility. It has a wonderful atmosphere which I am sure is set up by the employees and the decor. When I hopped into the chair my hairdresser was ready to please. I went in for 3 things to be done, a dramatic cut, first time highlight and an eyebrow wax because there are normally 2 right?. She was very compassionate but excited to cut especially since all I told her was make me beautifully and she did just that. I told her what I have been doing with my hair because I am not talented in doing it however I have been getting better, so she looked at my hair and me and decided on a sassy layer cut and I LOVE IT! I feel like a different person. I also decided to get highlights in my hair since it was my first time she eased me into change. She gave me a vast variety of options on what I could do. I went with her expertise. To keep the excitement up I didn't look in the mirror however every single employee noted how great I looked and that i was going to love it. Talk about building anticipation. When she finally turned the chair I almost didn't recognize myself. Neither did my husband. I love my new hairstyle. When she took me to get my eyebrows done I went upstairs, is this place huge, she was very thorough making sure of two wonderful eyebrows. I have so many wonderful things to say about Sona Bella, that I probably cannot fit them all into one review. The ladies from Sona Bella did the hair and makeup for my wedding party in June, and I also went to the salon for a number of services leading up to my wedding day (facials, waxing, spray tans, massages, makeup, and updos to name a few). These ladies do such an incredible job, and they always make sure that their customers are walking away happy. I had a large wedding party, and whether it was a last minute add to the list of updos, an uncooperative flower girl, a bridesmaid that wanted to change her hair once it was done, or someone who didn't get their makeup done but just wanted a little extra help with their eyeliner, the team from Sona Bella did everything the could to adjust, help, and make sure that everyone stayed calm and looked beautiful. I got so many compliments on the bridesmaids' updos (each was different) and on everyone's makeup as well. Even on a warm, muggy day, everyone's hair and makeup stayed put well into the night. A very special thanks to Beth and Cecelia, who did my own hair and makeup (respectively). Again, I have too many good things to say to fit here, but I highly recommend Sona Bella for a variety of different services, and I look forward working with them again in the future whenever I need my hair, makeup, or whatever else done! read more

Here is why I love Sona Bella. I'm obsessed with my hair. For years, friends have chuckled about this, past co-workers will randomly text or Facebook me to tell me my hair looks great today, sight unseen, I've trained my family to always comment on my hair. But these comments are always true (well, except for bedhead), because of the magnificent Beth from Sona Bella. I've been going to Beth for more than 10 years. She has gifted me with some of my favorite haircuts in all of my 40 plus years. And I remember them all, because like I said, I'm obsessed! 1) She has recreated a haircut from a haagen dazs commercial (all time favorite haircut). 2) She put in these super cool panel highlights. This geek never felt so hip! 3) Most recently, she helped me go blonde and it's the most fun hair I've ever had! Beth is an artist! I'll never let another cut or color my hair again. The rest of the staff at Sons Bella is also excellent! Cecilia does amazing nails and nail art. And a great facial. She also cuts my mother's hair, mom drives all the way from the city to see her! And her hair looks fantastic! I've gotten massages and mani/pedis as well and I've always been more than pleased. And I've never seen anyone leave the salon unhappy since the day it opened. I had Cecelia and Beth do my make up and hair for my wedding. I was very specific about what I wanted (since obviously it was a very important day). Cecelia did airbrush makeup on me. I didn't even feel like I was wearing anything! It lasted all day and it looked so natural. My husband even commented that it was so perfect and I looked like myself and not over done (Thanks Cecelia!!!!) I showed Beth a picture of the hair style I wanted and she delivered perfectly!! My hair stayed intact the whole day (I needed to add some bobbie pins towards the afternoon/early evening which is normal) and everyone kept complementing how beautiful it was. I even had a headband that she placed perfectly and that do not move at all throughout my day. I would highly recommend these two women if you are a bride who might be nervous about finding a salon who is able to meet what you want and not what they think you should look like. Also one huge detail I didn't mention. They do come to your home to get you ready, which was a huge thing for a bride who did not want to run around to a bunch of different places on the morning of her wedding. Sona Bella, hands down, is the best salon I've ever been to. The atmosphere and decor is fabulous. You can really tell that a lot of thought and heart went into the design and decorations. There are always fresh flowers and wonderful treats to nibble on also - all from local businesses too! It's small businesses like this one that keep the small business community thriving. Now on to the services: Beth has been doing my hair for sometime and I feel awesome every time I leave her. She discovered my current color combination, and boy, does she know what's she doing. I got a million compliments over that next week, and most of them from the men I work with (construction business, only lady there, holla!) Anyway, men don't ever notice stuff like hair cuts and color. That made me feel really great. She's always helping me keep my hair really healthy too, which is a must if you color all the time. Bottom line, Beth and everyone else there is super sweet and wonderful to talk to. I am treated so well every time I'm there. This is one salon that I am proud to support. Love this place! I've been coming here for, at least, 8 years. The employees are fun and know their stuff. I've never had a bad experience or hair style. Beth, Cecilia, and Lynn know their craft like no one I've ever come across before. Sona Bella does more than just hair. There are nail services, facials, and massages. I cannot say how much I love that they offer massages. They are wonderful things that make life better after getting off crutches and I wish my health insurance covered them. As someone posted earlier about them not answering the phone, I think I've personally experienced that once. It's a small place so they don't have a receptionist who's job it is is to answer the phone, set appointments, and/or check people in. They care about their clients and do whatever they can to answer the phone. read more

Wow. My husband bought me a message, facial, manicure, and pedicure for Mother's Day (because he is amazing) to this place and I had the best experience ever!!!! I hate messages, think facials hurt, and would rather just do my own nails, but Sona Bella made me change my mind about all of that. When you walk in it's super cute, very charming, and extremely inviting. Then I met the staff and fell in love with the place even more! They were all soooo sweet, laid back, and super fun to talk to. Dana gave me an outstanding message and facial and Cecelia did my manicure and pedicure. We contracted with Beth and her salon crew for my daughter's wedding last month and we were very pleased with the personalized service they provided. Everyone, from the bride to the flower girl looked gorgeous. Hair was perfect, make-up was perfect and their easy-going manner kept everyone in a very relaxed mood. We had a large group with 7 bridesmaids, aunts and mothers and they kept everything moving flawlessly. In addition, we had a manicure-pedicure-massage party the morning before the wedding that was lots of fun for everyone. This was a great experience. Recently had a fabulous 2 hour massage with Ms. Nina at Sona Bella. I haven't had one in a while, so I definitely needed someone to work the kinks out. Nina was able to zero in on my trouble spots and worked out all the tension and stress I have been holding for a long time now. I was impressed by her super professional style and ability. It was unlike any massage I have ever gotten. Nina has a lot of love for what she does as well as for her clients. I finally am able to sleep better as well as feel more relaxed. I used to drive passed this salon everyday going to work but i am now working downtown and it was no longer thought about. Then one day i heard the no chip manicures were amazing and i remembered Sona Bella in tinley (since i live in the south burbs) long story short im SO glad they came in my radar again because Beth did an awesone deep red no chip for me! Just had my first appointment at Sona Bella and I'm extremely happy! The atmosphere of the salon feels charming and cozy, like you are among friends from the moment you step in.
