I rented a unit at Southern Self Storage in Reserve, LA for nearly two years before being told in…read moreAugust 2025 by Property Manager Yaitza De Leon to vacate because my payments were sometimes a few days behind. The property is clean and well maintained, but the way management handles customers is disappointing. Every late payment already comes with a $40+ late fee, which is a clear financial benefit to the company. If someone doesn't pay after 30 days, the unit goes into foreclosure and belongings can be auctioned--again, the company profits. Wanting to "remove all late payers" (as I was told) is harsh and unrealistic. No facility with hundreds of units will ever have every single customer pay on time. Forcing out loyal, paying tenants--even those covering late fees--is unprofessional and unnecessary. In the end, I paid what I owed, but was still forced out. Customers deserve better treatment than this.
