I believe this office has several things to work on. I've had a total of 3 visits, and 2/3 visits were very chaotic, unorganized, and simply put, not a great experience. The first visit, I scheduled for my kids' cleaning (due to our former dentist no longer taking our insurance). Upon arrival, I was there 15min early. I was given forms that I already completed and filled out online. The lady at the front desk was very rude and did not appropriately run my insurance, which caused a 45min delay. Once that was cleared up, I was not issued an apology, I was asked to reschedule, because it was an hour past the appointment time, and they were unable to see my children. Upon the second visit, I was quickly greeted, and the staff and doctor were great! However, I again, had to fill out the forms I previously filled out a third time. However, we were in and out with their cleanings, X-rays, and assessments. Ms. Cookie was our hygienist, and my son has asked for her several times since that appointment! She was very attentive, personable, professional, and explained the process each step of the way. The third visit, we arrived 15min early to our 9am appointment, with 2-3 families ahead of us in the waiting area. All of the families were taken back around 9:30 as a group, and then dispersed per the necessary treatment. We waited an additional 40min until my son was seen to receive his treatment. I encourage management to stop overbooking while short staffed. The staff are clearly overwhelmed and unhappy with conditions due to the workload and patience required to deal with upset people all day. The level of professionalism and side comments to patients and guests about their experience as employees is impertinent. Patients' time is not considered, and it truly makes me want to find another dental office because it is such a chaotic environment. read more

Wasted my time. I had an appointment for my son last Wednesday, and they cancelled it because they said they didn't get the insurance information they needed ahead of time. They had reached out to my husband (who was traveling for work and in meetings all day), and he didn't get back to them in time so they cancelled it the day before. Fair enough. I called as soon as I found out it was cancelled and rescheduled for the next week. I had hoped to get a Thursday or Friday appointment, but they said Tuesday at 8:15am was all they had so I took it and rearranged my schedule to get my son there. I provided the insurance information I could on during our first call, and called back two days later with the pending information I had to get from my insurance. They said they had all they needed and would call the insurance company to confirm everything before his appointment. Flash forward to this morning - we show up and they tell me they haven't called to verify his insurance information, that the doctor isn't in today, and that he does not have an appointment because it was never rescheduled. It absolutely had been rescheduled, and I had taken the time to gather the information they needed and get it to them in a timely manner. Overall - it was a very disorganized and frustrating experience and I won't be wasting more time trying to make a third appointment. read more

I should have listened to the other reviews that I read on yelp, but I wanted to see for myself since this office is conveniently located near my home. 1. The office was not warm or inviting for children, which surprised my because I thought it was a pediatric friendly dentistry. There were no toys, books, magazines, no soft music playing and nothing on the television in the waiting room. 2. The office (especially bathroom) was not clean! There was a full trash upon opening of the business, along with urine on the toilet. The front desk associate eventually went and wiped the toilet seat off, but it was just gross in there! Is there not a regular janitorial service that occurs? Floors were filthy. Windows and doors were filthy with finger and hands marks that looked like had been there for who knows how long. This can't be sanitary! 3. Both of the women up front at the desk had coughs and were coughing all into their hands. No masks on, and were not taking care to sanitize their space after coughing. 4. My appointment for my daughter was scheduled to begin at 8am, but we did not get seen until 8:26am, which was inconvenient because I had to get my daughter to school afterwards in a decent time. 5. I had to ask to go check on my daughter for her cleaning, and when I went back, it seemed like the dentist was rushing, quickly trying to move to the next client. 6. Since this was our first visit, I definitely expected more. But there was no talk about my daughter's precious dentistry or records (that we sent over prior but received no confirmation of receipt). 7. When I was waiting for my daughter, there was another patient who stormed out and said she would "never be back".....lots of red flags for me on an initial visit. Just because this office takes Medicaid, doesn't mean Medicaid patients want to or deserve to be treated poorly. We should not have to be subjected to unclean treatment and rushed appointments. So I am at A Smile 4 U with my granddaughter. I didn't go inside until the appointment time 8am because of COVID-19. I get inside only to find out there is about 7 sheets of paperwork to fill out. That made me mad because that could've been sent in an email to fill out. Plus you have to sit or stand outside to fill out said paperwork. That is not the kicker though. They are charging a $5 PPE fee because of COVID-19. That's still not the kicker there are two receptionist I over hear one tell a man before me there is a $5 fee per child for the PPE. Like me he is shocked but he pays. I get called by the other receptionist only for her to tell me there is a $10 fee per child. I immediately ask her why when all the man who went to the other receptionist paid $15 because he has three children with him and I only have one. She looks back at the other receptionist but their back are facing each other. She then says I'll give you a discount. What do you mean give me a discount he only paid $15 for three children do you see another child with me? It wasn't just me or the man that paid a difference in fee. Everyone that went to the Spanish receptionist paid $5 and everyone but me paid $10 with the Black receptionist. What in the ham fuckery is going on? I swear the PPE better cover her entire body or I'll be back to update this RANT but a justified one. One more thing my granddaughter is 3 years old and I couldn't go back there like her mother normally does. Also the PPE fee is for what they wear not the patient and who's to say they even change between patients? I'm just saying. It was also a two hour dental visit which could've been avoided by emailing the paperwork to each patient. This grandma is pissed and has questions I need answers for. read more

The worst dental experience I have ever encountered. Constantly cancelled appts. Appts rescheduled without my knowledge or permission and no one keeping track of my payments. I had to call my insurance to provide the office with dates of payments my insurance made because the office wants me to sign a document saying I'll pay $1500 for my braces that I have had for over 2 years which was only supposed to be 6-12 months and they can't track my personal payments I had to pay out of pocket. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate of time I had to schedule off work to be seen only to not be seen. read more

Go anywhere but here. My son broke his front tooth when he was 7 years old. Since then, he has had his FRONT tooth temporarily covered until he gets old enough to have a permanent tooth placed. Both times, the temporary has lasted YEARS. Why, because the dentists were competent and skilled. Dr. Human replaced the tooth and it lasted THREE weeks. My son was doing National public Service but I called in October to make sure he would have a dentist appointment when he came home for Christmas. That's three months in advance. (( Our regular dentist, who is not seeing patients during Christmas, said Dr. Human made a mistake on his bite profile and that is why the tooth broke.)) Kristin said there would be no charge and they would make sure he went back to service with a tooth. B.S.! Mercy, from the office, called me at 9am for insurance. I offered up our insurance but then called back to ask why they needed it if the visit was free. Turns out Kristin, although promised she was making notes, did not make a notes in his chart. Surprise Surprise. Two hours later, my son was still sitting in the waiting room. Problems sorting out the insurance, was their excuse. B.S. Oh but wait, now they needed to do an evaluation to see why the last work broke. I pressed Mercy. Mercy slipped up and let out the real real. She told me Dr.Human was over booked with a root canal that would last all afternoon. Ah, the root canal makes many more dollars for the practice than my son's work. The evaluation was just a way to charge the insurance more. My son will now be returning to national public service with a broken tooth. He'll have to live with this broken FRONT tooth until he is finished serving his country in July. You should be ashamed of yourself. read more

I had a wonderful experience with A Smile 4 U and Dr. Humam. I came in for a root canal and they were able to work with my schedule and responded quickly. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The staff treated me as if I was a good friend. I had good conversations with everyone and felt really comfortable being there. Dr. Humam is an amazing Dentist and person, I never worked with someone who cared so much about making my teeth look great and making me feel so comfortable in a dentist chair. I really liked hearing him sing while working on my teeth, he was so friendly and it was really easy to work with him and talk to him. He pays attention to detail which I really love and you would want someone that cares about the look and comfort of your teeth, especially something I will be using for a very long time. I'm very happy with my teeth. I felt like the prices of the procedures were reasonably priced and cheaper then other places. I actually shop around and they do a fantastic job for the price. It was also my first time coming there just about 2 months ago and my teeth feels great, strong, and beautiful. I would definitely recommend A Smile 4 U 100%. I am really not the review type of person I rather call cooperate & make them aware of there company situation , but this matter needs to be shared. first in for most I have brought my family members to their appointments here on numerous occasions however every time it's always a slight situation that catches my attention , I waited to write this review once all of our dental work have been completed. I most definitely will not be returning;me or any of my immediate family for the simple fact that this Office is basically a shit case the office manager is a rude ass lady (excuse my language) She doesn't know how to talk to people professionally even when someone is trying to be as nice as possible or even comply/understand company policy , even down the the insurance breakdown you know? who hired you to talk to people the way you talk to them ?! I need answers ! That's one , TWO the hygienist is rude too ! speaks very loud when mentioning problems that may occur in a patients mouth or cases they may need some attention , whichever everyone shouldn't hear it. Made a comment on how she said that "we must've had a rough childhood cause we have a lot of work that needs to be done . Only reason I didn't flip the f*ck out is because that's what they expect . I had a great experience with A Smile 4 U and Dr. Humam. I came in for a broken tooth from a past root canal. He was able to listen to my hesitance from prior dentist experiences and address the concerns before moving forward. Because of my comfort with Dr. Humam, and Kianna the amazing hygienist, not only did I continue with repairing my tooth with a crown, cleaning and x-rays but I am also assigning Dr. Humam as my new dentist. I am a former employee. I had a issue with the manager as well. She was very rude and disrespectful to me and other employees. Three people quit since I started working there. I got so stressed working here, I'd go to the bathroom and cry every other day from frustration, after 3 months I quit without having another job. I emailed Maha in corporate of my issue and resignation and they didn't even have the decency to email me back. No good luck on your future or we will take what you said into consideration. NOTHING! That shows they didn't even respect me as an employee or will bother to fix the issue. Poor customer service when u call to schedule an appointment. The staff at the DECATUR location is HORRIBLE!! They charge you for services you don't need. And will tell you the dentist will NOT perform an extraction if you don't get the bone grafting. You can't force a patient to get services he or she can't afford if the insurance company does not cover it. Dental services are very expensive. I wouldn't pay to have my dog teeth cleaned at this location. I had to pray about my bad experiences with this company. Fortunately I have found a new dentist who has a passion for dentistry and cares about his patients. I'm looking forward to my second appointment next week. read more

Since this location is so close to where I live, I've called them about five times and the phone just rings and then goes to a busy signal. I finally got a receptionist on the phone who sounded half asleep but booked me an appointment. However, I then called my insurance who call A Smile 4 U to try to confirm if they are a network provider. It took 20 minutes to get someone on the phone and then they were not able to give an answer to my insurance. I tried calling back but the phone just rings so I texted them to cancel the appointment. This was by far the worst dental experience I have ever had, actually worse office appointment ever! I took my daughter in on Friday after an hour and a half wait I got up and asked what was the problem? Her response was we are short staffed. I said okay but several people have come in and gotten taken back but my daughter has not. She rudely told me that they were there for more than a cleaning and need to see doctor. So I said let me reschedule for Monday. I came in today and watch ten people, TEN come in after me and got taken back. I finally went to desk and spoke to a man this time, at this time I was there two hours and my daughter had not been seen. He said we are a-little behind and people are here for different things. He then rolled his eyes and said let me check to see where she is in the list. Talk about pissed off! Only then was she called back! I was walked around back and then told I couldn't sit with my daughter so I don't know what they did to her mouth. My appointment was at 10am. We did not leave until 1:45pm for a CLEANING! Customer service is terrible. If your understaffed why book appointments back to back. I will NEVER NEVER take my daughter back. No apology, no explanation, and the extent of being talk to about my daughter was "Mom she is great no problems, no cavities, and come back in 6 months." Run from this place! Terrible, rude, unprofessional front office staff. Rude nurse or MA. The x-ray tech was friendly which was the only positive from this pathetic establishment. We have given this place multiple attempts but that was our mistake. We will never go back. Not allowing parents to go back and then stating "oh you must be in the medical field" -- what are you hiding? There was no explanation of the plan of care by the dentist. Very unprofessional. I went for a deep cleaning at their Decatur office, after several cancellations they gave me an appointment with Ms Amber their hygienist who was v impolite, I told her my history and to be careful about the cosmetic procedure that's v expensive and called build up in between front teeth and told her again and again not to pull that out while cleaning and she was like oh u are just being anxious about it and didn't pay any attention!!Once she got done and I saw the mirror my build up was gone she took it out while cleaning and said I it's still there thought she left the huge gap between my teeth showing clearly that she took it out!!! I went to the doctor available who politely looked at it and said tgereymight be plaque that's why she took it out but I said she should've asked me coz throughout the procedure I was concerned and telling her not to remove it as it's v expensive and I was not there to get it out!!! The doctor dr Patel tried to convince me that there was plaque so she had to but she never informed me and never took permission from me for that. The doctor cleaned my teeth more and said to wait a week and told me to come back for the build up. I got the appointment with Dr Patel as he said if the gums healed he will do it!! Today when I went for my appointment the ppl at the desk had wrong info their computer stating I came for two different fillings which I refused as soon as she mentioned and I told why I was there. She went back returned never called me till after half an hour took me back where doc came checked my gums and said it's still not healed and I need Depp cleaning and root planning and then u can do the build up!!! I was like they already did deep cleaning last time He said no it needs anesthesia ( which bring a doctor myself I know she did it and said that she did deep cleaning and charged me for Deep Cleaning and removed my expensive build up saying it's still there while it wasn't there anymore) So my question is I'm the first place their hygienists if they are not caps enough and they don't know what cosmetic build ups are and they are not listening to their patients concerns while doing the procedures why they are working at the first place???? They should be exposed to such patients with these kind of treatments done coz I have got my cleaning done before and they knew to save my cosmetic build up and clean around it not remove it!!!! And above all denying the fact that they removed it!!! Next if u have done one thing wrong and charged me for the deep cleaning for the first time and did deep cleaning second time why the doctor denied that they did deep cleaning and removed my build up???? Come on admit it u are a dr and am not a lay man!!! What about code of ethics and all!! Am highly disappointed from all the staff and the doctors and will never ever step in there!!! read more

Brought my boyfriend in to get 5 of his teeth extracted . Staff was very informative and really cared about the patient. Surgery took 20 mins tops with 15 min recovery very professional I would recommend anyone to come here. read more

Do not recommend this office at all. They frequently cancel appointments the day before and today had my children come in and wait 2.5 hours only to be told the dentist who accepts our insurance was not working today. Totally unacceptable and inconsiderate of working parents who are taking time out of their day (and pay!) to bring kids in. It takes months to get into an office in the Decatur area and now my children will be overdue for their cleaning. Very poorly run office and overall horrible experience. read more

The staff was great. It was clean environment. They get you in and out. Very efficient friendly and polite. I called at 8 in the morning and they told me to come in and the doctor seen me . If you're after customer service I wouldn't bother. When I brought my son there the "treatment plan" came out and I had to ask to see a dentist for an explanation which they were hesitant to do. I heard from an extremely rude business manager that "I had great insurance" so this is what should happen. After receiving a second opinion many of the procedures weren't suggested. Really...
