Visited Atlanta Oral & Facial Surgery today to have a tooth extracted…read more My experience this time was just as pleasant as my first experience. Ms. Shaquita, was extremely helpful with directions and making sure we parked in the correct place. I was greeted immediately as I entered the office door. My wait time in the lobby before being called back for my procedure was no more than ten minutes. They offer very spacious waiting area, so you're not sitting on top of other patients while you wait. Steve Harvey, Family Feud marathon is on the TV offering a great distraction if you're nervous. Dr. Sruthi was great and explained the procedure as she went along making me feel comfortable. If you need Oral surgery this is the place to go. It was the amazing experience for me the 2nd time around.

I had a really bad experience here and would highly recommend not coming here. Overall it was…read moreunprofessional, and even disrespectful. It felt like they are focused on money and not on providing the best patient experience. I scheduled an appointment for a tooth extraction. I was pushed into having my consultation and procedure on the same day. On the phone prior to the appointment, I was informed I would be paying the full price out of pocket, and that the procedure would cost in the range of $600-800. This was very palatable to me. Once I got to my appointment, I met Dr. Cole for my consultation. He did not discuss the details of the tooth extraction, but only discussed two different options for an implant. I had no prior knowledge of how the extraction or the tooth implant process works, and had no idea we would be doing the implant today. He sent me back to the waiting room while they put together an estimate. When the staff pulled me back, they presented me with an estimate for over $6,000. I was understandably very shocked and didn't know what to do. The staff member did not walk me through the line items, and I had to ask questions to understand it while being in shock and trying not to cry. I felt I had no time to make an adequate decision, and that the doctor/office was pressuring me into an extremely expensive surgery. I think this could have been easily prevented by providing me an estimate of the implant prior to the appointment. Or not pushing me to have a same day consultation and surgery. I decided to go ahead with just the tooth extraction because I had an infection that I did not want to wait any longer to treat. I was taken back to the procedure room and put on laughing gas. The doctor came in and noticed I had been crying and asked why. I explained the pricing was shocking to me and the lack of communication around it had made me very flustered. He offered no reassurance or compassion. He literally said nothing. He numbed my gums and left while that set in. At this point I was alone in the room and I continued to get more panicky and stressed, as I now did not trust the doctor and I also did not know what was going on. The doctor had still not explained any details about what the extraction would be like or what the recovery would be like. I was also stressed that I wasn't getting the effect of the laughing gas becuase my nose was stuffy from crying. One of the staff came in and told me to try to calm down and offered to turn up the laughing gas. When the doctor came back in, he asked if I was numb and I said yes and then he started working on my mouth. He did not explain what he was doing and I was terrified I was going to feel more pain because of the laughing gas not getting to me. The doctor could tell I was uncomfortable, I still had tears in my eyes and was wriggling around in the chair, so he told me I shouldn't feel any pain, just movement and to raise my left hand if I felt any sharp pain. But he still didn't explain what he was doing and it all happened very quick. It felt very crass to come in there and rip my tooth out in 30 seconds without trying to calm me down. It was traumatic. Then he left abruptly without any further information. I got very little verbal after-care instructions from the staff in the room, and I felt left alone to figure out what to do despite being given four different prescriptions (including a narcotic) and two different rinse procedures. I'm also left confused if it's normal that there were no stitches done, if I'm suppose to have any kind of follow up appointment, and also what the next stage of the process looks like for me now. One thing is for sure, I won't be getting the implant done by Dr. Cole. They also charge $10 for wifi in the waiting room which gives you an idea of their priorities.

I blamed my British genes for many…read moreyears, but recently my dentist took time to explain to me that my teeth formed in a way that made my dental problems inevitable. I know that there is a lot of anxiety and shame around going to see someone in the dental industry. I was referred here for an emergency extraction of a tooth that had broken under a crown. The first place my current dentist referred me to offered to see me on a Thursday, with the assurance of no action, just consultation, despite the fact that I called on a Tuesday in pain and was leaving the country on a Saturday. Needless to say, I requested a second referral. They then referred me to Georgia Oral Surgery, where the kind front desk manager set me an appointment for Tuesday afternoon. Everyone here is the picture of professional: kind, friendly, and able to make you relax as much as you can in an office where you know you're going to leave behind a piece of your body. Rachel walked me through the medications they were prescribing and the process, then Dr. Muse came in. He was gentle, kind, sweet, and above all, was willing to do whatever I was most comfortable with. I was going to lose the tooth either way, unfortunately, but he thought that I could get through my trip out of the country without extracting it beforehand. However, I figured it made the most sense to just get it out and eliminate any possibility of needing emergency dental care in Mexico or Honduras. He moved around his Thursday morning appointments and made that happen for me. Day of, they prescribed me Xanax to help with my nerves and were so friendly and personable that I wasn't even sure when I actually fell asleep. Even after my appointment, they answered my questions through my sniffles (I always cry coming out of anesthesia), sent me home with written instructions, and called me later in the day to make sure I was doing okay. One day after surgery, I'm back at work with no swelling and no pain. I'm taking antibiotics and ibuprofen to head off any possible problems, but I expect to board the plane tomorrow morning and head to the Caribbean with no dental worries in sight. I plan to send them a handwritten thank you note, but wanted to leave them their very first Yelp review first. I could not have been happier with my experience with Georgia Oral Surgery.

I researched and really liked the "feel" of Atlanta Dental Spa. Their "No Judgement" attitude is what I liked the most. I walked in the front door (BIG step) and Tiara took such great care of me. She is so sweet!! After x-rays and scans, I met with Dr. Gandhi who was very understanding of my fear. He was gentle and explained everything that needed to be done and what those options were. It was scary looking at all that was needed, but they offer sedation dentistry and that's what I did. After a good couple of hours of being "consciously knocked out", Dr. Gandhi, Whitney and Britney got the work done! I left being able to smile showing my teeth for the first time in years! But more so, correcting the things that could affect the rest of my health. After I got home I did NOT have ANY pain which is saying a lot as I had a ton of work done. They said that days 3-4 might be the worst for pain, but there was NONE. And that's taking nothing but ibuprofen. The advancement of dentistry is amazing. More than that, finding a dental office that treats you like family, sees you at your scheduled time, offers you neck warmers, blankets, headphones with your choice of music...but most of all truly cares about your patient experience. I'll keep my mouth healthy at Atlanta Dental Spa-Highlands and Dr. Gandhi is my dental guy going forward! (Also thanks to Tiffany who helped answer my financial questions!)

I recently visited this practice with a relatI've who received care at this practice. The front…read moreoffice staff were very pleasant and the medical support staff were awesome as well. The issue with this visit stemmed from the unprofessionalism from the doctor himself before the procedure began. When the doctor entered the treatment room, he had the chart in hand with the information from the insurance company. The doctor scanned the insurance page claiming that a certain service was not covered and my relative had not paid for said service. That information was incorrect. He did not read the insurance data correctly, which clearly showed the approval from the insurance company along with the amount payable by the insurance and the patient responsibility. My relative reviewed all of this information during check in for the appointment with the front office staff and paid the portion not covered by the insurance in full ( not a payment plan). This behavior is very troubling and gives the impression that the money is more of a concern versus the patients health. Also, that is what the front office staff/ practice manager is for. If there was any disagreement with the insurance nor no payment was received by my relative, my relative would not have been allowed in the treatment room to begin with. I understand that the doctor has a business to run, but this situation could have been handled more professionally and with tact. The procedure went well. I would recommend better pre-op instructions. If I ever need the services offered by this practice, me personally, I would go elsewhere. Also, I would not recommend this practice to anyone I know. I do not tolerate humiliation nor disrespect. You show me who you are the first time, I take the interaction at face value and move accordingly. I don't care how much experience or renowned a doctor is, you humiliate me or my relatives, that is the last time you will see me or my family. On another note, I have seen the clientele that receives services at this practice, so I can see where the warped perception of patients may come into play. Well, listen here doctor, you are not dealing with rif- raff on this end. You are still practicing well beyond your years, so who needs who? Treat your patients better and it may be time for you to hang up the white coat. Good Day.

From the consultation to pulling teeth, the ENTIRE experience was amazing. I went in for a consultation, and since my teeth were impacted, Dr. Rockwell made some suggestions on how to get that wisdom tooth out. I trusted him from day one. I came back about a week later to get the tooth extracted, and he made sure I had plenty of medicine before coming in to get my tooth taken out. I was assisted by Ceena, and she was AMAZING through and through. She got me together before Dr. Rockwell came in, ready to pull a tooth!! LOL. I might be a little biased, but I'm Dr. Rockwell's favorite patient. I just want to thank Dr. Rockwell and his entire staff for taking care of me. If I had any concerns, they truly understood. Dr. Rockwell will make sure you're healed for weeks and even months before you leave his sight. He cares about you as a person before he sees you as a patient, and that's what I look for in every industry. Dr. Rockwell, please continue to keep up the great work. They explained everything to me and even shared their own experience with the procedure. To my surprise, I didn't need sedation. I had never heard of that. But the staff made me completely comfortable with moving forward. I can also say that the price was very reasonable, IMO. Dr. Rockwell came in and took a look at my XRays and came off as extremely competent, comfortable doing the procedure, and with an incredible "chairside manner". I scheduled my procedure right away. The procedure went very well, I felt no pain until later on that night when my mouth started to "wake back up". I opted for numbing and laughing gas. Highly recommend because I'm super nervous at the dentist and it calmed me down during the process. Dr. Rockwell and his assistants were quick, thorough, calm, and checked on me several times during the procedure. Although I wasn't sedated, I did have to be driven home because I took preliminary medication for pain management. I'll spare you the details of the healing process (I had no issues at all) but I'll say that each time I came back for a follow up, Dr. Rockwell expressed how I had progressed and let me know of which foods that I was then allowed to eat. Just a great experience. IF I needed more dental surgery ( I pray I don't), I would come back to Dr. Rockwell1 They do have validated parking in the garage around back, just FYI.
