They put you in a steam room and come in with various scrubs and rub the dead skin and what not off of your body and rinse you off with a bucket of warm water. You wear a paper pair of shorts and women get a top. For the price ($150 + tip) I thought it was not so great. The real bummer was my apple watch (a new wiz bang waterproof kind) was removed from my locker. Of course the lady in charge denied anything being wrong on their end because if I had the key and it was locked "it would be impossible" for anyone to get in the locker. There were only three employees and me in the place. I would think they have a duplicate or master key in the event the key got lost. Some factoids....one of the ladies directed me to the locker I used and there were several others, the lady who was helping me took my key off mid procedure to get to my whole arm (seemed sort of odd.) I won't be back. If you go here, leave your stuff in the car.

The cherry on top would have been if they offered to change into their robes while you waited but still a nice welcome party. Lisa invited me back to the room and re-confirmed my package - the Rest and Relaxation package came with a sugar foot scrub, aromatherapy, and a Swedish massage. The room came with a private change room, complete with a shower, a closet with a robe, slippers, towels and some toiletries. If you're staying in the hotel, you're welcome to use/take back to your hotel room. My masseuse, Lisa, was so professional and so gentle. She really made me feel rested and relaxed between the eye mask, foot scrub/rub, heated blankets and her massage. 60 minutes is never enough so ALWAYS opt for more time! After freshening up, she offered me some citrus water and escorted me to their zero-gravity room while I sat in their massage chair waiting for the indention from the pillow cushion to leave my face. I was excited to try another JW Marriott Spa after getting a massage at the JW in Dallas. I'm going…read moreto give several recommendations for those who are interested in attending based on my experience then get into my experience. 1 -Look at the spa services carefully and look for their specials and some of the treatments have combinations for extended time. I originally had issues trying to book my treatment online so I called and they were able to book the Perfectly Polished + Massage (80 minutes) for me. I wanted to add a mini-facial to it and the individual on the phone consulted me that I could actually add a small fraction of what I was already paying to the total cost and get a longer facial from the esthetician separately. So, while it was an upcharge, I was into the concept of giving myself the best experience so I booked that too. 2- Remember that you get free valet parking - I had this in the back of my mind but I forgot when I arrived so I purchased street parking one block over; the complimentary valet saves you time getting to the spa and of course money, so don't forget this. 3 - The spa is on the 11th floor - the elevators don't have a callout-there is a digital ad that pops up on the screen, but otherwise remember that. 4 - They give a discount for locals. There's a 20% check-in offer on my Yelp app, but they also give a discount for locals as well so remember to tell them if you are local. Just a note if you are staying in the hotel, it looks like they have specials as well based on the signage I saw today. 5 - Expect an efficient process - when you arrive you'll sit in a lounge until your tech is ready, then you will be in one room that will have a locker/shower and of course the massage items. After, they will offer for you to sit in one or two lounges, I chose the anti-gravity. More on that later. 6 - Share your Marriott status (if you have one) - When you check in, let them know your status and they may be able to offer you additional upgrades for your service - for instance, I was offered aromatherapy during my treatment. As for my service and experience: SERVICE I really enjoyed my treatment provided by Lisa. She started by reviewing items of concern from my pre-health check form and was great at asking about my comfort level throughout the process. I was able to immerse myself into the treatment and really enjoy the sensations. AMENITIES I stated before upon arrival you sit in a separate lounge and they offer you beverages, I enjoyed the citrus water but they did have coffee/tea available as well. After I finished my treatment I went into the anti-gravity room. I accepted the weighted blanket and the weighted and heated neck wrap which put me into a further calm state before heading back into the real world. The chair experience was relaxing and not too shaky. I wanted a little more sensation for my hands so I actually placed them on the chair. There are two chairs in the lounge but because it was pretty quiet today, I had it to myself and that was nice. STAFF The staff were wonderful - from Daurion, Lisa and the other individuals who helped me with booking, even with a few hiccups, it was still a pleasant experience. In fact, I have to return because my scheduled esthetician had a family emergency and we had to reschedule, but they were apologetic and offered a nice concession for when I return to have the service rendered. The only reason I didn't give this five stars was because of the issue with the booking and that there wasn't anyone else available to give the service that day but it's certain if everything had gone to plan, I would have given it 5 stars.

I'll sum it up for those of you who don't have time to read the whole review:…read more $85 "full-body" massage DOES NOT INCLUDE: - hands - feet - THE ENTIRE FRONT SIDE OF YOUR BODY - your head - stretching Worst "massage" I've had.. I feel bamboozled by the reviews on google and by many of you on here. Here is at least not as bad, but google gives this a 4.8. Anyway, I feel so ripped off. Within the first 5 minutes, I should have put my clothes on and left. I just didn't know how to do so without it being completely awkward and without them charging me anyway. You could tell the masseuse did not know the human body. I have had many Thai massages and typically they are quite skilled in where to put their hands. She just seemed like she was randomly pushing around on my back. She was unable to recognize knots in my muscles throughout my body. It was a Thai massage and she wasn't even going to use the bars above us to stand on me. I had to specifically request that. That should be a given for any type of Thai, Thai-combo massage. It was supposed to be "full body". She didn't touch my hands or my feet and she DIDN'T EVEN FLIP ME OVER. HOW IS THIS FULL BODY WHEN YOU ONLY DO ONE SIDE, AND YOU DON'T INCLUDE THE HANDS OR FEET? She just sucked. And I blame the management. This would have come out very obviously had they had her perform a massage prior to hiring her. $100 was a total waste. I'm getting more and more pissed off as I write this. Do Not Go Here.

First time visitors who normally don't venture outside of the I-10 loop, we accidentally passed the house and had to make a circle, but it is right on Studewood, so stay alert or you might just miss it! There is a tiny lot behind the house, but there was only one other car there so we were able to park without issue. (Not sure where you would park if there were more than 2-3 cars..street parking a couple of blocks away? Won't be a problem while businesses are limiting capacity due to COVID though.) Our room was simple but clean. Didn't notice any hooks or places to put our clothes so we just placed them on a counter near the separate fridge-but-for-hot-things (It looked like a mini-fridge but I'm pretty sure the hot towels/coals were stored there, haha). Jamie and Sammy were our masseuses, and they asked us the pressure level before they beginning. The boyfriend wanted deep tissue, and I went with medium pressure. Next time, I will probably ask for deep tissue for my upper/lower back, but medium pressure was perfect for my legs and arms. They really stretched out our muscles and massaged areas I didn't even know were sore! My boyfriend proclaimed this was his favorite massage he's gotten. Sammy pinpoint all his knots and targeted all his sore spots. If I had to be nitpicky, I would say that in the beginning of the massage the phone rang several times (like at least 4 times in a row), and even with the doors closed and the background spa music it was audible. Perhaps if there was a way for their phone system to automatically go to voicemail or be silenced if there is no one at the front desk, that would have elevated the overall experience. Prices are pretty reasonable, perhaps a little higher than I can afford to come back regularly but worth it! We'll return.

I was taking a shot since I just didn't have the time to go to my old spots and was in the area. The two ladies that helped me were very kind. If you're looking for ambiance this is not the place. I was a little surprised they didn't play any music at all. I was started by the lady that checked me in at the front and took my payment up front (not what I usually do at foot massage places). She got a call and heard the front door after getting my foot soak started and had just began rubbing my temples. Then, "Fifi" came in to help me while the other woman attended to the customer I heard come in. She was wonderful. She had a great translator app on her phone and will ask you several questions to make sure you're happy. I had to tell her that my feet were very sensitive since my treatment and stem cell transplant and I apologized if I jumped a little but she wasn't doing anything wrong. She shared with me that her brothers wife had cancer that had spread with a tumor to the brain. She was very caring and even when my time was up she asked if she could continue a little longer at no charge to finish my neck area that was bothering me badly. Overall this is a quick and easy spot at a reasonable price. Fefe has great technique and strong hands for a tiny Chinese woman. She's super sweet, too.
