My job was not large. But he responded quickly. He got called away on a family emergency but returned right when he said he would. Quality of work was excellent. read more

The first time we used Adam he was great then we contracted him for a larger job and only completed some of the work he owes me about 1000 dollars for work not completed definitely wouldn't use again read more

UPDATE: Although we resolved issue before he contacted back I think at the end of the day he would have fixed problem, there was just a misunderstanding that we discussed & resolved...he contacted me & apologized for miscommunication, I would hire him again. Had our toilet worked on by him then had guests stay & they complained about toilet acting up, he came to check on the toilet & sent us a video showing toilet working, a friend stayed at our place & told us the toilet was acting up so I called him again which at this point I just have no clue why the toilet being such a pain! The plunger wasn't going up & down, so I called again & he told me he was out of town & that hed get with us on the weekend but didn't follow through, kind of tired of bugging but he worked on toilet which obviously still has minor issues, I had started a review for him that I never finished & wish I could have kept it at 5 stars but ill give him a 3 for showing up twice....and minus two stars for a problematic toilet and no call back & no follow up. read more

Do not use. He does small projects fine, but for more than a clogged toilet he will take your deposit and never show up. He then gives you the same excuses as to why he didn't come.. emergency drain line , mother in law with broken ankle, kids in urgent care or kids sick. After 3 months of jobsite being abandoned I hired another plumber that had to redo the little Joens completed and complete the job. Adam Joens take all the money up front so he looses nothing by not coming back. Do not pay him up front if you do hire him. read more

We had clogged bathroom and toilet on the 4th July holiday. We contacted Adam on Saturday 7/5. He responded within a few minutes and came to help us in a few hours. The repair was a little complicated, but he figured everything out. Great job! read more

I love doing business with AR Joens Plumbing. Adam was extremely prompt, very courteous and provided pictures and detail on the work. He was going to do and then a report when it was completed. Value for the dollar was extremely high. Dependable and it's nice to know he's there when we need him in the future read more

Very pleased with pricing & work for simple/moderate plumbing issues. However, if he can't fix something, the full price quoted is owed. Then you need to call in the 'big guns', which wasn't much higher than his quoted price. Therefore, I paid double for the same job, which came to $4800. Beyond this, he installed a new hot water for me, and I never rec'd a Warranty. I asked via FB messenger & email for the warranty. Never rec'd. For a big job, call the professionals. read more

We had a great experience with Adam. He was easy to get ahold of, showed up when he said he would, fixed the problem we called for & also fixed another issue we were having for such a great price! We absolutely recommend Adam & he will be the only plumber we use for our home & Airbnb. Thank you, Adam! read more

Adam, is hands down; the most professional and punctual plumber in Big Bear. I don't have enough fingers on my hands to count the many times he has saved me. An not only saving the day, showing up immediately in force to tackle any (and many) of my plumbing problems. I couldn't make it up here without having a plumber so on top of it, and a plumber that actually is licensed and knows exactly what he is doing. If you are reading this review and in the need of a plumber in the valley, please do not hesitate to reach out to Adam. Get it done the right way, the first time. He's never let me down. read more

They caused me thousands of damages in water damage, refused to help. Do not use, if you did use them hire a real plumber to double check their work before you end up in my position Now I have to see about taking them to small claims wasting my time read more

Adam was recommended to me through a friend and from the first contact and all the way through my repair he was courteous, helpful, and upfront about what was going to happen and when. Adam helped fix my running toilet. He's my go to plumber for any plumbing issues big or small. I can always count on him to reply to my messages and show up when he say he would. He treats you like family and I appreciate his work ethics! read more

We used Adam because he was highly recommended by our neighbor. He came out, was very personable and did a good job. A few months later we needed a new water heater, we called Adam. Having used him before we were comfortable paying him in full with the promise of him completing the job asap. That was in October and we have placed several calls with assurances he will be out to complete the job to no avail. No receipt, no warranty, no completion of the job, not very professional. read more

Adam is the man! He was able to help us late at night and last minute when we needed. He won't over charge you for the simple things and is just all around a great guy. I would refer him to anyone! read more

Adam replaced a 12 year old 40 gallon hot water tank for us. He replaced it with a high altitude 50 gallon tank and he artfully managed to navigate a pretty small opening into our crawlspace with the new larger hot water heater. He was fast to respond, fast to get out to our house, on time and he did everything he said he would do for the price. No surprises. Very easy, 5 star experience. Thanks Adam! read more

Always a pleasure working with Adam. Very reliable and I appreciate the work he does.

Call Adam first!!! He is a great guy. Skilled at what he does and totally honest. Very trustworthy and a great communicator. He went out to do some work on my cabin when the water heater went out. He noticed water in the pan and thought it was leaking. He lit it, and went back later to see that it dried up, and it was just the wind and water. I am not there, and a lesser man could have taken advantage of me for this. I am happy there are people with integrity like Adam in this world, who care about the customer and are honest and dependable. read more

Look no further! Adam is the guy for your plumbing needs. He is prompt, informative, and quoted a great price for job. We had an access door on the side of the cabin that blew off. It was the door to get to the electrical for a jet tub. With the frigid cold weather, and wind blowing right into the access hole, we had a pipe burst, and water flowing full force under the tub into the basement. Of course this happened on a Sunday, and while we had company. I called several plumbers in the Big Bear area. Most didn't even call back. But even after 3pm on a Sunday, Adam called. He came out to assess the issue, provide suggestions, and gave a quote. Instead of taking out the tub and all the decorative rock surrounding it, we opted to cut into the back side of the house via the deck, which is closest to the pipes for the jet tub, and install a new large access door there. It was late on Sunday, so Adam purchased a new access door the next day (and even painted it to match our siding!), then came early the next morning to fix the pipe and install the new door. He showed us the pipe work, verified there were no more leaks, and even caulked around the new door. The whole time Adam was super pleasant. He even hauled away the siding debris cut out of the house. And he was true to his quote. I'm sure we will need a plumber again in the future, and when that happens, Adam will be the first person we call. Thank you Adam! read more

I called Adam and he responded in like 20 minutes... He was professional and got right back to me immediately. I had a water heater where the pilot light would not light. Well it was only 7 years old and frustrating due to it was an expensive one. He said to me that he could fix it or replace it with a new water heater. I like that he offered both options. I will keep his phone number in my phone. He always responds back quickly and for that he truly deserves 5 stars.... read more

I've had the opportunity to use Adam 3 times, all with outstanding results, so I thought it was time to Yelp his business. I have always found Adam to be extremely honest and truthful; he has never upsold me on any work which is quite refreshing in today's marketplace. Adam is conscientious, courteous, professional, and responsive . It is obvious Adam cares about his customers, and the quality of work he does shows it. Let me tell you about Adam AKA A R Joens Plumbing. First, know that this review is currently about his response, communication, and inspection, we haven't had the work done yet (because Adam is honest)!! So, I had a guest staying at my cabin. Guest reported 'no hot water', to me, that's no acceptable, especially during winter. I called BV Plumbing first, I was told they could come urgently in 4 DAYS , tho they were very nice about it. I then called Adam, he said he was swamped, but would check on the issue on his way home!! WOW!! I respect a family man's time, so when guest reported some hot water finally arrived, I asked him to wait until morning, so he could go home! Adam arrived as promise, very polite and pleasant to work with. He let me know the guest was 'probably not 100% honest':(. My water heater needs to be replaced in the pretty near future, but not on an emergancy basis! I recommend that you call Adam when you have an issue and I'll be sure to update this as soon as we get the work under way! Thank you!! read more

I needed a tankless hot water system installed and contacted multiple vendors in the Big Bear area. It is amazing how many contractors did not respond, and some of the ones that did provided dates that were longer than 30 days out for an appt, or offered extremely expensive quotes without even seeing the project. While I ultimately selected another contractor, it was a very hard choice. With that in mind, I want to leave this positive review for Adam. Adam responded to my contact promptly; he arranged to come out the same day to meet and evaluate what was needed; he arrived on time and as promised and spent the time to explain what was needed, discuss options, and stayed in communication during the evening to address questions that came up. Adam is clearly a very caring professional. I would highly recommend him, and I am looking forward to working with him in the future. read more

During the middle of a giant snow storm, we could not find anyone to help our cabin guests with a broken heater! Adam came to the rescue! He sent Fred over first the the following morning. Fred arrived exactly on time, and solved the issues quickly and easily! Adam and Fred were both really easy to work with - we will definitely hire them again should any issues arise. read more

Adam helped us fix a leak under our home quickly. When everyone else was booked or too busy, he came to our aid. In fact, he even picked up his phone at 10pm, and came right over! My boys were so thankful because they thought their snowboarding trip would be canceled, and we'd have to come home. No way, thanks to Adam! We appreciated his prompt attention and friendly service! We will definitely use him again in the future!! read more

Was disappointed with the lack of communication had two appointments set both no call no show all I would've asked for was a text saying I can't make it but my wife rearranged her whole week to be there for both days and not even a call or text found another plumber that was very responsive read more

Adam is an experienced professional, and an all-around nice guy. He helped us repair a DIY nightmare involving duct tape, pipes (water and gas) hanging from twisted metal wire or resting on cinder blocks, and a maze of both galvanized and copper plumbing in our basement. He worked the better part of 4 days under our house. We live on a hill, so his work space began with a low-ceiling basement and ended in a crawl-space of about 12 inches. Adam is the kind of plumber you can trust to give you honest feedback, even if it means a less expensive job for him, or even a delayed repair. As a small business owner, he seems much more interested in building a client base, whereas the larger companies send out employees who get paid a salary regardless of the quality of work or advice. I highly recommend giving Adam a shot. Help a guy support his young family. He'll try to earn your business for life. read more

A friend referred me to Adam, and let me know he's the best. He spent 4 hours fixing our leak issue, and I have to call out that he is the BEST! Quote was accurate and the cost was very very reasonable. Unlike other shops who will have to subcontract the digging, Adam just did it all by himself. That saved time and money for me. Very friendly and gave a lot of information! read more

Adam is my go to plumber for the Big Bear Area. He is not just a skilled plumber, but a top notch professional. This is hard to say about many services in this area because many just don't practice quality business and customer service. He stands atop of the list due to his commitment to his clients, work ethic, and accountability. Even when I have a question that does not require him to do any billable work, he is there to address any of my concerns. If you want a plumber that you can rely on and build a great relationship with, Adam is your guy. No question. read more

Adam is now our "go to" guy for any plumbing needs. We first used him for an emergency toilet/sewer line back up (yuck) after the first plumber we called took one look at it and said "I'm not doing that" and walked out. Adam responded quickly and got things flowing again. We have since used his services on 3 other occasions for repairs to a kitchen faucet, garbage disposer replacement and gas line repair. Besides doing the job right, the thing I most appreciate about Adam is his responsiveness and communication skills. read more

Just purchased a new home in Big Bear and within a month a small leak started in the bathroom sink. Also started getting error codes on our tankless water heater that is heavily used for our heated floors. Adam was quick to respond with a quote, stop by to see the job, and get me in on his schedule super quick. Will definitely be using him for our plumbing needs in Big Bear. Thanks again! read more

We had an emergency with the only bathroom in our cabin, and called Adam at about 7 am on a Sunday. He showed up an hour later and quickly fixed it. My boyfriend and I came back up to our Big Bear cabin this Sunday to a clogged main sewer line. (Insert total freak out here.) Amidst my panicking, I found Adam on Yelp and I'm so glad I did! He was at my house within the hour even though it was Sunday night and he spent an hour snaking the sewer line in the dark and freezing cold. When he couldn't get it clear, he promised to come back the next morning, first thing with heavier equipment. And just like he said, Adam was at our door at 8:20AM. He cleared the line, gave us some good maintenance tips, and we're back to having working plumbing. Thank you so much Adam!! read more

We didn't end up needing the work done, but Adam was great - very personable, quick/responsive, knowledgeable, and good prices. Would definitely recommend him! read more

Reasonable price. Great communication. Great documentation of the work performed. After getting several competing quotes for a plumbing repair project (some via Yelp; some via referrals and calls), I hired Adam / AR Joens Plumbing to do the work. While his estimate wasn't the lowest I received, it was definitely competitive, and I was impressed at how responsive he was when I asked questions (via Yelp) about the work, the price, and his availability. Adam was also very quick to respond via text, which helped a lot when coordinating on the day the work was scheduled. He also took lots of photos and a couple of videos during the work - both of the broken pipe that was the cause of the initial problem, and of the finished work after the repair, before he reburied the pipes. read more
