UPDATE: Although we resolved issue before he contacted back I think at the end of the day he would have fixed problem, there was just a misunderstanding that we discussed & resolved...he contacted me & apologized for miscommunication, I would hire him again. Had our toilet worked on by him then had guests stay & they complained about toilet acting up, he came to check on the toilet & sent us a video showing toilet working, a friend stayed at our place & told us the toilet was acting up so I called him again which at this point I just have no clue why the toilet being such a pain! The plunger wasn't going up & down, so I called again & he told me he was out of town & that hed get with us on the weekend but didn't follow through, kind of tired of bugging but he worked on toilet which obviously still has minor issues, I had started a review for him that I never finished & wish I could have kept it at 5 stars but ill give him a 3 for showing up twice....and minus two stars for a problematic toilet and no call back & no follow up. read more

Do not use. He does small projects fine, but for more than a clogged toilet he will take your deposit and never show up. He then gives you the same excuses as to why he didn't come.. emergency drain line , mother in law with broken ankle, kids in urgent care or kids sick. After 3 months of jobsite being abandoned I hired another plumber that had to redo the little Joens completed and complete the job. Very pleased with pricing & work for simple/moderate plumbing issues. However, if he can't fix something, the full price quoted is owed. Then you need to call in the 'big guns', which wasn't much higher than his quoted price. Therefore, I paid double for the same job, which came to $4800. I needed a tankless hot water system installed and contacted multiple vendors in the Big Bear area. It is amazing how many contractors did not respond, and some of the ones that did provided dates that were longer than 30 days out for an appt, or offered extremely expensive quotes without even seeing the project. Look no further! Adam is the guy for your plumbing needs. He is prompt, informative, and quoted a great price for job. We had an access door on the side of the cabin that blew off. It was the door to get to the electrical for a jet tub. With the frigid cold weather, and wind blowing right into the access hole, we had a pipe burst, and water flowing full force under the tub into the basement. Of course this happened on a Sunday, and while we had company. I called several plumbers in the Big Bear area. Most didn't even call back. But even after 3pm on a Sunday, Adam called. He came out to assess the issue, provide suggestions, and gave a quote. Instead of taking out the tub and all the decorative rock surrounding it, we opted to cut into the back side of the house via the deck, which is closest to the pipes for the jet tub, and install a new large access door there. It was late on Sunday, so Adam purchased a new access door the next day (and even painted it to match our siding!), then came early the next morning to fix the pipe and install the new door. He showed us the pipe work, verified there were no more leaks, and even caulked around the new door. The whole time Adam was super pleasant. He even hauled away the siding debris cut out of the house. And he was true to his quote. First, know that this review is currently about his response, communication, and inspection, we haven't had the work done yet (because Adam is honest)!! So, I had a guest staying at my cabin. Guest reported 'no hot water', to me, that's no acceptable, especially during winter. I called BV Plumbing first, I was told they could come urgently in 4 DAYS , tho they were very nice about it. I then called Adam, he said he was swamped, but would check on the issue on his way home!! WOW!! I respect a family man's time, so when guest reported some hot water finally arrived, I asked him to wait until morning, so he could go home! Adam arrived as promise, very polite and pleasant to work with. He let me know the guest was 'probably not 100% honest':(. My water heater needs to be replaced in the pretty near future, but not on an emergancy basis! He helped us repair a DIY nightmare involving duct tape, pipes (water and gas) hanging from twisted metal wire or resting on cinder blocks, and a maze of both galvanized and copper plumbing in our basement. He worked the better part of 4 days under our house. We live on a hill, so his work space began with a low-ceiling basement and ended in a crawl-space of about 12 inches. Adam is the kind of plumber you can trust to give you honest feedback, even if it means a less expensive job for him, or even a delayed repair. My boyfriend and I came back up to our Big Bear cabin this Sunday to a clogged main sewer line. (Insert total freak out here.) Amidst my panicking, I found Adam on Yelp and I'm so glad I did! After getting several competing quotes for a plumbing repair project (some via Yelp; some via referrals and calls), I hired Adam / AR Joens Plumbing to do the work. While his estimate wasn't the lowest I received, it was definitely competitive, and I was impressed at how responsive he was when I asked questions (via Yelp) about the work, the price, and his availability.
