Rene got a replacement door in 2 days, installed and _perfectly matched_ the (aged) 3-stage metallic silver color. A few years before, we had a bad interior roof leak. Rene diagnosed that the front window gasket was leaking. Unfortunately, it had rusted the front of roof so badly it needed to be rebuilt. Aiiieee ya! With that curvature in two directions and the lip for glass it should have been impossible. Not for Rene's team! Their prices are quite reasonable. Rene and his team are fast and darned good. I had my bumper replaced here after a rear-end collision, and within a short time the paint started chipping and peeling off in multiple spots. I took it to another reputable body shop, who immediately pointed out that the bumper was not prepped properly. The surface hadn't been sanded or treated with adhesion promoter before painting. When I brought this up to Mathew, he refused to take responsibility and wouldn't stand behind his work. Any professional shop knows that proper prep is the most basic step in refinishing a replacement bumper, so this was disappointing to hear. Now I'm left with a bumper that needs to be completely redone, at my expense, because of poor workmanship and a lack of accountability. I was super pleased with the autobody work done on my 2005 Toyota Camry. I had smashed rear hit and run damage. I also had unsightly clear coat peeling on my car and he gave me such a reasonable estimate on that so I decided to have that done also. The repair and paint job turned out beautiful. They even got all the dings and dents out of years of driving my car, painted the hub caps, and suggested replacing the headlamps which I'm glad I did. The car looks new! I was able to have them process the payment through insurance very easily and they were so quick to get everything set up. Before I knew it, he made my rental reservation set up and had already coordinated everything with Enterprise. They replaced my bumper and it was good as new! My husband had his Honda Insight repaired at AQuality, and so I already had a good recommendation. I brought my Prius in for a door repair, after getting 6 estimates in Goleta, and Rene's was the cheapest, so I decided I could also afford some repairs on my bumpers. (Those low Prius bumpers do not love curbs). When I picked up my car today, I thought I had a new car! Rene did an excellent job with some repairs, some new parts (no putty), a great paint job, and my car was sparkling. Very rare to find a company that provides great service, great quality and great pricing - but A Quality Autobody does just that! We took our 20 year old mini van into them to see if they could help with the paint and clear coat peeling on the hood and roof. They did an amazing job and even repainted the luggage racks black to match the other trim, pictures below. It looks like a new van again!! Right after that, our Nissan Leaf was in a minor parking lot scuffle. They replaced and repainted the whole back bumper and it looks good as new. I was directed by a source I respect to go see A Quality to help me restore and preserve my truck. They gave me a full body paint job, and a spray on bedliner at a great price. Worst service to have as a body shop. I took my car to Rene as I had a bad rear end collision. It took him 5 weeks, and had to go back 4 times to get my trunk repaired properly. When he finally ordered the right parts, and found someone who knew how to do the job, it finally got done. He and his wife went off on me abusively today. I am wearing a left wrist brace and he yelled at me I shouldn't have used the broken trunk. When I told him I had to go out of town to help a sick friend and had limited space, he said it was my fault for using his faulty work on my trunk and that I caused my own injuries. I told him I was slammed in the head 5 times, bruised all over my arms, and he said it was my fault. He blamed me for his shotty work. The trunk would slam down, and we had to use a 2 x 4 to prop the trunk open. I asked him over and over to let the Honda dealership to fix it right. He refused. His excuses were his back injury, his lack of staffing, his need to get other cars out before mine. Instead of saying he is sorry for my inconvenience, he and his wife went off on me today and he complained of having to pay someone to fix it for $300. Why is that my problem or my fault? Do yourself a favor and go somewhere professional, and get it done right the first time. He even blamed me for having to pay someone to fix it right when he has already been paid by insurance. He refused to give me the local agents phone number. Will never use this business again and I suggest you don't either. read more

Rene is the man. If you have a car (especially one you care about), bring it to him. The cost is fair, the work is fantastic, and the turnaround it quick. I have a Lotus Elise that needed some fiberglass restoration. Rene did the restoration, found a perfect paint match, and the car looks incredible. Now one year later I received a larger rock chip on the same bit of the car that had been restored, so obviously I took it to Rene. From the moment I took my car there to the moment I got it back, I knew I would be getting an excellent job done at the right price without worry of being taken for a ride. I went to other shops before hand to of course price shop, and everyone was quoting me outrageous amounts for some body work and paint. Half the people even refused to touch the car unless they could put it through insurance. Rene on the other hand, knew exactly what I wanted out of the work and what my approx budget for the job was. He realigned the hood and did an excellent job painting the car. He brought life back into it making it look like new all the while working within my budget and providing candid advice of what he would do if it was his own car. The shop is very personable and easy to get along with. They all take pride in their work and genuinely look happy to be working there doing something they obviously love. And boy does it show in their work. There is close attention to detail and give plenty of updates keeping me both informed and happy with seeing the progress. Overall, I would take my car back here in a heart beat, but then again; I don't think I'll have to! But if I do, it won't be because of the workmanship. read more

Thanks to other Yelpers I am extremely pleased to find A Quality Auto Body Body & Paint. The finish on the front of my newer vehicle was pitted with dozens of pebble chips. It's a fancy finish in that it has sparkly mica chip embedded in the paint. Rather than paint the entire car Ichung, Rene and team were able to seamlessly feather the new finish to match the untouched surfaces. The entire car looks as if just came out of the showroom. If my experience is not enough of an endorsement, when I picked up my vehicle Rene and Ichung had two, very high-end, antique cars in the shop for total make overs. read more
