As many others have stated, I called to get a repair and was told that there was 8 calls ahead of me so they would called back the day before to get a credit card number to hold my spot. Very unprofessional and rude. My appointment was cancelled twice. First for 'jury duty' and then 'family emergency'. When he finally came to property he looked around a little bit provided no useful information and then said I would be getting an invoice. I received a charge for $186. This was apparently an 'inspection fee'. I was not aware I'd be charged this and didn't receive any kind of inspection report. My understanding was that he came out to bid on pool repair job. This is the first negative customer review I have ever written. So frustrated with Chad and this company. read more

I had a horrible experience with A Pro. Excuses, always excuses. Little to no support. If you want to buy an Arctic hot tub, call Premier in Chanhassen. Long way away from us but they know the tubs, provide lots of info and instruction and have a great tech! Bought the tub in early August, and finally up and running 1st part of October. Of course, our fault because we were out of town a few times but no reason for us to be there. Just another excuse! Arctic Spa in Canada helped us. Follow up; We bought an Arctic Spa from Chad a few years ago. He had recently taken over and had unexpectedly lost the main guy who really knew the spas. And, unfortunately suffered through their learning curve. We were very upset with our decision. However, now a few years later, much has improved and while we have not had any big issues with tub, Chad has been more than willing to take care of us whenever we call upon him. read more

I unfortunately had a couple bad experiences with A-Pro, which I truly wish wasn't the case. They are local and family run so I really wanted it to work. The first time they came out to my residence they didn't announce their presence. They proceeded straight to the pool without my knowledge or permission to assess why a pool heater wasn't working. Only after all that they came to my door and didn't introduce themselves but said I had a fire in the heater and I needed a new one. I immediately thought I was being up-sold. They begrudgingly showed me the heater and why they assessed it the way they did, but it still didn't look like a fire had occured. I was really hoping for more of a relationship, but it seemed they were just money hungry. I had a larger company come out and close the pool this past fall instead and the experience was just that - very corporate and not really my jam. So.....I decided to try A-Pro again in the spring to open the pool up and replace the heater (which only after the larger pool company had convinced me that a new one was needed). A couple emails were traded back and forth on the same string that included the quote they gave me for a new heater from the fall. I also received a quick call from Chad, the owner, confirming the location. Not once was a new quote emailed to me or verbally told to me over the phone (which Chad will deny). I was working off the knowledge of the only quote I had received from the company when asking for their business. The experience during the heater replacement and pool opening was pleasant (which is the reason I didn't give 1 star). Chad's son was the technician and even walked me through some basic pool maintenance. It was the invoice I received that was the real disappointment though.....it was a whopping $800 over the quoted price! I called to question the bill and Chad insisted that he told me the price over the phone, which he didn't. He also threatened to come to my house and remove the heater when I told him I was willing to pay the quoted price. The only thing they offered me was to wipe away their 3% surcharge on using a credit card. At that point, I unfortunately didn't trust them enough to even do that. If you decide to go with them, hopefully you have a better experience than me. read more

I went in to purchase 2 new spa filters, I did not know the size I needed and brought the old one in. They advised to match it up before I opened as it would be non refundable, I did, but I opened both because they looked identical, unbeknownst to me he gave me 2 different ones and 1 fit, the other did not. I went back hoping to exchange it but they would do nothing. I said you gave me 2 different ones and he replied, you bought them. Thanks for a $50 filter I can never use. Going elsewhere even if I have to drive an hour. read more

I can understand why there is such a low rating for A-Pro pool. I have never had such bad follow up or communication from a company ever. I would highly recommend you find another company to assist you in your pool needs. You are wasting your money even trying to get this company to fulfill their obligations or comments. The employees are very nice and helpful. We are new pool owners, and have had to call several times with some questions after picking up our start up chemicals. They are so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be using them for all of our pool needs in the future. read more

Just had A Pro out to do a review of our 2005 Bullfrog. Having no prior experience (we just purchased the property) I was at a loss as to understanding the quality, lifespan, cleaning, etc. of our whirlpool. We recently bought a house with a hot tub. Being novices, we have called A Pro for advice because we like using local businesses. This last week I called asking if they could help move our tub across our patio to accommodate a house repair. They started by saying it would be $350 and it would take a half hour. I have no idea what's involved so I asked if we should drain it before they come...oh, no, he said it only takes them 5 minutes to drain it. Then he said they were booked out 7 weeks and if we wanted them before that, it would be time and a half. Then he said it would be $50 to drain it. "I thought it was only 5 minutes?" Well, his guys would just be standing around during that time so he has to charge for the draining of it. I just have a bad feeling from them. read more
