My mom and I went to this nail shop on Saturday, wanting support a black owned business of course. However, the service provided was terrible. I got a no chip manicure and regular pedi, my mom got a regular mani pedi and as soon as we left her polish messed up after an hour of drying. My NO CHIP, has already chipped and it looks like white out on my nails opposed to my normal white no chip I'd receive from a different nail shop. The prices does not match the service they provide, the workers aren't trained good enough. I'm not understanding why my mom and I paid so much for something that didn't last two days. I have never been so Unpleased with a nailshop until now. I am truly disappointed and I won't be back, however I hope they improve their service and stop half stepping people that genuinely wanted to support them. read more

Only started getting Mani-pedi's about 5 years ago after my lady insisted we enjoy one together! Have been hooked ever since. Since then have been to many shops which featured harsh fumes and we're not very clean. Well this place is clean no fumes and no drama! Tomocha is very sweet and professional. She always makes my nails look and feel good. Some shops just push you around and try to get you out the door. She takes her time & pays attention to each customer so you can have the best experience. I have been coming for the last few years and have loved my services!!! Visiting APW on South 76th St is like walking into your favorite cousin's house! Everybody knows your name, you may run into someone who you haven't seen in a while, you may meet someone new. While this level of familiarity may be a little overwhelming for a new visitor, you are quickly put at ease and brought into the fold. The service is wonderful and the ease of booking an appointment, and follow up was great! The wine list (yes you are offered a little sip with your service) could use an upgrade, but at least they have one! My husband had driven past 'A Polished Work' several times and suggested we try it. I was a walk in but was helped immediately. I found the staff to be warm and welcoming and the atmosphere relaxing. My nail tech Jalissa asked about my foot care, made suggestions for future treatments and was very helpful and knowledgeable. This is such a lovely hidden gem on the South Side. Monica did my mani/pedi and she did such an awesome job. She was very meticulous and methodical, offered pleasant conversation and created an overall relaxing experience. I have been getting a regular classic manicure since February 2018...my manicurist is Minnina and she does a great job. The place is clean, the employees areprofessional, helpful and friendly. Nice location, welcoming owner, love the set up. Service was great, very good first experience. I was told my receipt was emailed but the prices were not listed. I checked my account to see that a no chip removal was the same price as my manicure, which seems a bit pricy to me. It should have been displayed/explained more clearly.
