I emailed Kevin (the person who emailed me months earlier about servicing my septic) at 6am because I knew they weren't open until 8am. You know what he did? He called me 45 minutes later at 6:45am, walked me through some diagnostics and even FaceTimed me so I could figure out what was going on. Spent 20 minutes on the phone with me, figured out the problem, and educated me on how to prevent the problem from happening again. Didn't charge me a penny. I live in North Yarmouth and experienced my pump alarm…read moregoing off with some "stinky" flooding occurring in my basement, of course it was at night (aren't all plumbing problems at night when everyone is closed) plus, it was a Saturday night to boot. I called the next day on Sunday and left a message on their recorder, someone did called me back that day, who ever I spoke with told me that they would be able to come on Monday. Sure it was inconvenient for us to have to use the SuperMarket 2 miles away for our more urgent needs and we ate out, you don't know how much you miss running water or flushing until you don't have it! Anyway, the Arky guys came and pumped out the septic and replaced the filter on the pump, the young man said it was most likely caused by the gunked up filter, I asked if we should have the septic pumped more often, at that time we had lived here for 4 years, so I knew it had been pumped at the time of the sale. But he told me that what I really needed was the have the filter replaced every 6 months because of the configuration of the pipe from the basement to the septic, so I follow the instructions and keep a heathy septic and replace the filter every six months, they come automatically and do it. The problem is solved and the service and price is good. They did tell me that for just two people and keeping the septic healthy you should be able to go for several years without pumping the tank.
