Allen from Doyon came to our house, analyzed the situation and figured out it was a frozen pipe outside - under 3 feet of snow and frozen ground. He helped us dig into the frozen ground to thaw the pipe. We hit a snag when he realized the pipe had a fork - and was creative, thoughtful - and hearty - enough to dig into the ground in another spot to get to the offending ice. Meanwhile the temperature was minus 10 with the wind chill. We are so pleased and thankful to Doyon for sticking with this problem and fixing it!

They did the job, but they knocked over about 5 feet of stone wall and just left it there. My plumbing backed up a few months later; I called them and they said they "may have" crushed the pipe from the house to the septic tank by driving their equipment on it. They didn't seem surprised at all, like they knew they had crushed it and were hoping I wouldn't call them back. At least they fixed it for free a week later. I will do septic work myself with a teaspoon before I call these hacks again.

Roots had invaded the pipe going from my house to the septic tank. A crew showed up less than a…read moreweek after I called. They dug up and replaced the pipe and increased the pitch for better flow. They got rid of the roots and installed a manhole to the tank, so I'd never have to dig it up again. They pumped out the tank while they were at it. The crew worked within inches of the backyard birdbath, garden and bird feeders without disturbing so much as a single flower. When they were finished, they raked out the excavator tracks, leveled and seeded the lawn. The cost was on the low side of a very fair estimate. I surmise that they are just plain good at what they do, and hence are more efficient than the competition. They were polite, courteous and caring. None better.

I live in North Yarmouth and experienced my pump alarm…read moregoing off with some "stinky" flooding occurring in my basement, of course it was at night (aren't all plumbing problems at night when everyone is closed) plus, it was a Saturday night to boot. I called the next day on Sunday and left a message on their recorder, someone did called me back that day, who ever I spoke with told me that they would be able to come on Monday. Sure it was inconvenient for us to have to use the SuperMarket 2 miles away for our more urgent needs and we ate out, you don't know how much you miss running water or flushing until you don't have it! Anyway, the Arky guys came and pumped out the septic and replaced the filter on the pump, the young man said it was most likely caused by the gunked up filter, I asked if we should have the septic pumped more often, at that time we had lived here for 4 years, so I knew it had been pumped at the time of the sale. But he told me that what I really needed was the have the filter replaced every 6 months because of the configuration of the pipe from the basement to the septic, so I follow the instructions and keep a heathy septic and replace the filter every six months, they come automatically and do it. The problem is solved and the service and price is good. They did tell me that for just two people and keeping the septic healthy you should be able to go for several years without pumping the tank.

When I saw open 24 hours I quickly hung up because I didn't want to bother anyone on a Sunday, especially because I didn't have an emergency. My phone rang a minute later and the man was very nice and said I wasn't bothering him at all. We scheduled a septic pump for 4 days later. 2 days later I got a text saying he was in the area and could do it that day. A bit later the man arrived, I helped him find the tank, he dug to the cover ($25 or 50 extra), pumped out the tank and put the dirt back. He advised we pump at 4 years instead of 5 going forward, for the health of the system. I told him I'd call him in 4 years. Super nice guy, was honest and straightforward, especially given I'm a woman and didn't know exactly where the septic tank was in the lawn. He was patient as he poked a rod around my front lawn trying to find it with me. Happy to support local, nice people.
