Officers Experience was great and quick waited at most 5-10 minutes. The Type of Care I got was cosmetic, I had a chipped tooth and they recommended to get a crown. Also I hardly felt pain for the other procedures like the fillings and root canals. Very great doctors and staff. I highly recommend everyone to come here. read more

The older receptionist is very rude and unprofessional, says very disrespectful things when she thinks patients are not listening. She made my visit VERY uncomfortable which is sad because the drs and other staff were a pleasure. Maybe don't have inappropriate staff in the front. read more

In July 2025, Dr Uka billed my mom's medicare for over $900 for a root canal and porcelain cap, for which she never had done. Appointment was only for a cleaning. My mom was x-rayed, and had her teeth cleaned only after I reminded Dr Uka that she had not cleaned my mom's teeth. Dr Uka then tells me my mom needs all of her teeth removed, after their office 8 months before gave her a new upper denture and a lower partial. For over 4 months, I tried to get the $900 benefit return to my mom's health plan. According to Dr Uka on 1-13-26, the benefits were returned in December 2025. Duh!!!, end of year benefits expired. What if my mom needed additional dental work in 2025. All of her benefits had been used up because of their so called billing mistake. Fortunately she didn't have any additional dental issues in 2025. I called United Healthcare 8 different times from Aug to Nov 2025 to get it straight. They would just transfer me from unit to unit promising to clear it up for 4 months. I spoke to Dr. Uka today with my frustration only to have her say it was taken care of in December and that I would have to contact my plan. Frustrated, I said thank you, only to not get a you're welcome from Dr Uka. She just hung up the phone. I sat there in disbelief. My mom has a 1-20-26 . I called back and canceled the appointment and told them I won't be coming back. read more

The front desk receptionist is rude and unprofessional!! Don't come here be aware Their customer service is awful the old lady entered my information wrong at the beginning of my appt and someone else's information popped up because they have the same birthday and last name as me and she refused to run my social to verify it wasn't me. Once she realized she had that wrong info in the system she said she would bill my medical and instead billed me through an insurance I don't even have. Once I left and called that insurance she is claiming I have they confirmed that I infact did not have that insurance that it was a mistake. I called her back and she said she didn't bill me but did. I've tired calling her multiple times and they hang up on me. Save yourself some time from coming here so unprofessional and scammers!!! Paid in full dental work, total lack of communication to customer, failure to refund my money, was reassigned from the LA location to Carson with multiple appointments and last minute told me that they only do implants there rather than denture work, which is what I paid for! Very disappointed with LA and Carson location. All I want is my money refunded as I have still not received the dental work I originally paid for IN FULL. It has been SEVERAL months. I hate to do this because I was so excited to work with a Black woman dentist and fellow Black Trojan (Fight On!). I have had horrible experiences in the past, and I have an emergent repair needed on a crown I think (I've been in pain and waiting for a week just to see this specific dentist). Like other reviewers, I'm sure Dr. Uka is excellent if we could get to her. Hopefully multiple similar reviews about the customer service will help her practice improve and grow! What happened: Like I said I was in pain and so I made an appointment as a new patient. Previous reviews mainly criticized the customer service so I thought ehh, I can get over that as long as the dentist takes proper care. I called and asked the receptionist "Is your Carson office still open?" to which she replied yes but we are only open on certain days. I said great may I make an appointment? (That would indicate I wanted a Carson appointment right? Right). She proceeds to tell me the first available appt is Monday at 11am of the following week. I said ok. She took my information and I asked her what was the address so that I can put it in my calendar. She says 441 E Carson St. which is what I put in my calendar. Of course, pulled up at around 10:25a because of the reviews about long waits, and Dr. Uka responding saying that intake of new patients and thorough cleaning due to COVID takes time (understandable). The door was locked so I called the number in the window (which is disconnected). I then called the number I made the appointment with. After explaining the situation in a calm manner (which I didn't have to because your mistake wasted my time and money), the receptionist tells me "You made the appointment with me and I wouldn't have told you that." and that "the next available Carson appointment is Friday." I fully understand mistakes happen, and if I wasn't met with that attitude I would have most certainly still be happy to reschedule. Or even a little accountability for the mistake. Based on mine and other experiences, Dr. Uka, I would recommend some professional development training for your receptionists. Also, maybe sending confirmations of appointments via email or text would be nice so this doesn't happen. I hope it brings awareness and helps in some way! read more

When I initially walked in I first noticed that it had a grand opening sign hanging but, yet the lettering of the sign that stated 'dentist' was faded red. Also, there were two people already in the waiting room and I walked in expecting to of course fill out paperwork for a quick second then be briefed with someone before the dentist came in and talked to me. I was welcomed by Kendall, I believe her name was, the hygienist/assistant and she proceeded to go ahead and start the X-rays. Of course as anyone knows that is the worst part and it can be a bit discomforting lol but, she tried her best to keep me comfy during this. A little more practice wouldn't hurt of course. Then, after this she went ahead and cleaned up any excess drool and told me the dentist would be in shortly. Now while I waited for the dentist, 15-20 minutes later. I started to observe my surroundings and what I'm so used to at my moms work place which is a dental office as well, isn't what I saw here. The machines looked as though they had a bit of wear and tear and also, the floor was a bit dirty. Another thing I noticed was the area where you spit out after rinsing after a cleaning was that the area was a bit dirty or had gunk stuck to it. Now like I said I'm used to my moms dental office which is pretty clean despite being there for some years and I mean YEARS and is still very clean. It was a bit obvious there equipment was dated and they haven't been here that long.. So now the dentist, I forgot her name sorry, really pretty btw. She came in the room introduced herself and took a look at my X-rays, proceeded to tell me after examining my mouth I had no cavities and just a few minor things that braces could fix of course. After that I don't really remember much of a conversation besides, her stating she was just going to go and take a look at my insurance. 5 minutes later, the front desk person Wanda came to the back and explained to me the insurance I was on with my mom didn't cover me for a service that Wanda was trying to tell me to get, and she said the dentist recommended this. Yet the dentist never went into detail with me about this service or mentioned it to me. Being a new patient I would've expected a little bit more knowledge on certain things. Of course I asked questions here and there but, being a new patient I expected a little bit more. At the end of my service today, like I said being a new patient and also this was my first appointment made on my own without my mom I walked out without paying anything which I'm sure my insurance must've covered but, I was expecting some type of break down ya know? This was very nice since was close to home but, I'm not sure if I'd come back. Thank you anyways of course! Sidebar, my appointment was at 10. I was asked over the phone if I could come in at 9:30. I really like Dr. Uka, I think she is an excellent Dentist. BUT her staff/receptionist is the worst I have ever seen. I have been there on 3 different occasions, I call and give my insurance information each time they wait until I get to my appointment to check my benefits. She has an attitude like and just very unprofessional. I came in and she advised me she could not check eligibility because her system was down. She began to ask me insurance information I advised I gave all of that when I made appointment. She then calls my insurance tells me all is good and ask me if I still want to be seen. I did not understand so I advised yes I took off work have an appointment what makes you think I am here and don't want to be seen. Her response with a nasty tone was. " I told you that our system was down" She is rude and should not be in the front office. As I go into the room to be seen, a dental assistant said she was going to do my cleaning. When I called to book appointment I asked specifically for the hygienist Sherman and was told he is not at this office any longer. I said thank you and whoever was assisting said Dr. Uka can do the cleaning I said great last time she referred me to Sherman. Well at my appointment they wanted me to get the cleaning from an assistant and not the Dr. who I scheduled with. It is safe to say this is not my Dentist and I hope no one has that experience. I have lost money, taken off work for nothing. I really try to work with my people but they have no idea about Customer Service. So sad!! read more

My husband and I had a great experience at Aplus dentistry. My husbands crown came off so we came in just to get it re cemented. Dr. Uka took an X-ray and explained to us the reason why it happened and what we should do next. She wasn't pushy about it but did explain what could happen if we keep waiting. I really liked the way she talked with us. Very professional but personable. Guess we found our new dental office. read more

She really takes her time to talk through my total oral health. She makes recommendations without being pushy. After talking with her, I decided to start Invisalign treatment. It has been going well. It took about 20 minutes to get to the back but it's because I gave them the wrong insurance info. My bad!! I had a great experience at Aplus dentistry Carson office. From my research it has been a dental office for a very long time but under new management. Dr. Uka was great! She really took the time to educate me on my oral care and I was able to get a cleaning and X-rays the same day. Dr. Uka was very gentle and the staff were really nice and didn't hurt me.
