Caveat emptor on Yelp!…read more You're in great hands with Kris and Beale Mechanical, but I can't say the same for all five-star-rated establishments on Yelp. [[[OTHER COMPANY: When our 35-year-old Day & Night heater finally died on the coldest days last fall, the need was urgent and I quickly found a different establishment that came and installed a Goodman heater in a couple of days. The service tech arrived three hours late, complained that our heater, 20 feet away from parking, was a hassle to reach, and was generally rude, and even apparently broke our ladder. ]]] Our new heater was as loud as a jet plane and when I discovered our gas bill had doubled, I decided to do something about it and called Kohler, where Bill, who was too busy, referred us to Kris at Beale. THANK YOU! BEALE: Within an hour of my talk with Kris at Beale, Rich was at our house. Very respectful and pleasant. Without slamming any previous work, Rich fixed several botched things about the Goodman heater (which is apparently not known for quality) installation. The damper was closed and he fixed that. He turned the gas and blower way down and now we have a quiet yet still warming heater. He even fixed a broken fitting in our adjacent water heater. Did the other company break it? He didn't say, but efficiently fixed several parts of a botched installation of an expensive investment. I hate slamming hard-working businesses, so I'll just heap praise on those that do awesome work and really shine. Get references beyond Yelp if you can, avoid Goodman heaters, (think about avoiding Cyclone), and definitely definitely call Kris at Beale! Thanks Kris, Rich, and Beale!

Had a lot of fun talking to Delano while he worked. Friendly, funny guy. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the price seemed a little high. He was at the house for exactly an hour, and charged me $160. I didn't argue, since I hadn't asked about the price in advance, but I was definitely a little surprised. Well, at least I won't forget and put soup in the garbage disposal again.

So I will start off by saying this review is rather delayed, and deserves ZERO stars. I had him…read morecome do a job at my house in January. It's been a while but I remember his poor customer service like yesterday. And it's rather odd that his bad reviews have since been removed. Hmm... My garbage disposal wasn't working properly, as something was stuck inside and not allowing the blades to move. He got his vacuum and got it right out. Everything worked fine after. So as far as my garbage disposal working again, that went well. First off, I called him the day before he came and everything was fine. We agreed he come at 8:30AM. I text him my name and address. I also asked if he could install a light for me as well. I know he isn't an election, duh. But I was trying to kill two birds with one stone so why not ask? He said he could do it! GREAT! The next day rolls around. I called him at 8:31AM exactly and told him I was running to the ATM, which would only take about 15 minutes. He said OK, he was at Home Depot and would be on his way. I didn't mind because I was running late as well. But that's where it started... Around 9AM he called and asked where my house was on International. Um, I text you my address the day before, so I feel as if you should have directions to the location ahead of time and not be calling me 30 minutes after you where supposed to be here to ask where I live. He called again about 20 minutes later, by this time he had arrived. He came in. He did "fix" my food disposer. He took it apart to find the clog and there was not a clog- that took About 20 minutes with no luck. So be took his vacuum and sucked out the blockage, which took less then 5 minutes. He started packing his tools. I asked if he was still going to install the light, and he looked at it. Took a deep breath, and said there wasn't enough time. UMMM, IF YOU WEREN'T LATE MAYBE YOU COULD OF AT LEAST HAD TIME TO OPEN THE BOX! He said he would come the next day to install it, then charged $75 dollars for the bullsh*t... $75 bucks for 30 minutes of work and all you had to do was vacuum? OK. AWESOME! He came the next day and attempted to work on the light. He opened the box and told me I needed to call an electrician. Waste of time! I told him I was NOT at ALL happy with his service from yesterday, and the crap he pulled today. He got loud with me and yelled "OH OK YOU WANT YOUR MONEY BACK BECAUSE YOU WERE NOT HAPPY! HERE YOU GO!" And handed me $20. And left. I never ever want to deal with someone who's customer service is this rank. He is not courteous of how you feel as a client, your schedule, or your budget. I read a review before (which seems to have gone missing) in which a Yelper insisted you ask for pricing before he finished the job. Something I didn't do. Long story short I was ripped off. And my time was wasted. I regret even paying him...
