This incident happened awhile ago but i still won't come back even after the owner or someone higher up got involved. i was recommended this place by a close family friend and when my friend and i came to shoot on a Tuesday we were welcomed with great customer service along with talking too one of the employee about his time in the army since i'm also military. Before entering the range the employee told us basic range safety rules and standards and then gave us the all clear. While on the range a range officer was behind us the whole time watching us and talking with us occasionally very nice guy btw. after shooting my shotgun and also renting some rifles to shoot we packed up and thanked both employees while leaving. Fast forward a week my dad wanted to go shoot my new shotgun so we go back and this time an extremely rude employee was helping us inside the building (I can't remember his name because this happened a while ago) i ignored it thinking nothing of it. once my dad and I get on the range i take two shots and this guy comes screaming at me saying i can't shoot my shotgun because of my ammo. i apologize to the employee saying "hey sorry i was here last week and no one told me anything up until now i'll buy the correct shells." he approached my dad and i extremely aggressive and rudely replies "oh yea i remember you and ur friend from last week ur lucky i didn't say anything. also our ammo here is pretty expensive so i don't know if you can afford it or not." after he made that comment i immediately packed up and left because i didn't feel comfortable with this guy just staring at me even after i apologized along with just approaching my dad and i extremely aggressive. Later that day i called them and asked to speak to someone in a leadership position and firstly apologized about the misunderstanding and how i wasn't told about the ammo rule the first time i showed up. whoever was talking too me was extremely understanding and apologized for that guys behavior he said i'm more then welcomed back but unfortunately after that incident i tell people to steer clear of this business. i understand it's a range so rules are important but having employees with loaded weapons act aggressive towards you is a huge no go for me even after stepping away from my shotgun and trying to apologize even after telling this employee the last time i was here i was told nothing about the ammo rule. read more

It was my husband and I's first time here. We have been to plenty of ranges, and we haven't had a very receptive or present staff at many ranges. I have to say, it's a great facility. The range safety officers are polite and pleasant. They were friendly, on point, and ready to assist and help guide anyone and everyone. I can't stress how much I appreciate a relaxed (where it counts), aware, and friendly staff to take care of me and anyone else. Prices are reasonable, a large variety of gun and ammunition selections, and the staff are friendly and efficient. Safety glasses are a must. If you don't have any, you can purchase some for $3-this shooting range is also kid-friendly. We'll definitely be returning. Large shooting area for handguns, rifles and shotguns. We were there for a competition shoot. It is all outside so dress accordingly. Long driveway off the main road, the main road is pretty rough so drive carefully, then the driveway is dirt with a lot of potholes. Ample parking. read more

Getting yelled at and threatened to be put out when we were missing just a couple of little things was a little extreme. We were in SA, from out of state, visiting family, and had nothing to do one morning so found this place on Apple Maps. My 11 y/o son and I had a great time! The employees we interacted with were superb. We were able to rent a gun each, ear and eye protection, with no problem. The place seemed well organized and staff were all friendly. There were an abundance of lanes to shoot from... we shot the 25yd targets, it was very convenient to have the binoculars there at each stall. On our next trip to see family we plan to drop by again. Staff is completely unfriendly and acts as though you are a bother. The range officers need a course in customer relations. Going there I 100% follow safety instructions to the letter but for some reason they like to talk down to you. There is one older man that is a range officer that really needs to retire as he is very combative. The facility itself hasn't been updated in decades so be prepared to drive down a road that looks like it's out of warzone. The rifle range is muddy if it has been raining. Do yourself a favor and go to another range it's definitely not worth your time to go here. read more

I love this range. They offer lots of variety and at reasonable prices. I come here often to use the pistol, combo (25 yards/ 100 yards), and long range (100, 200, and 300 yards). The combo is great to get your rifle on paper. The long range is helpful for dialing it in at longer hunting ranges. read more

How good is A Place To Shoot? So good that I drive 2 hours to shoot here. As for a ranges go this place is amazing. A flat fee of $11 and you can shoot all day. Add $2 if you do handguns with the rifles (it's for the handgun target). I came here twice in 2 weeks and I must say both times I was very impressed. The 1st time I shot both rifles and handguns and the 2nd time shotgun and handguns. Both times I was really impressed. So much so I decided to purchase a little compact Taurus handgun which a smaller newer version than a model I already own.. They have a lot of lanes and I really feel like I'm in my own zone when I'm there. Yes they have range masters walking around but they don't hover over you in an annoying way like at some ranges. They just lay back in the cut and observe and answer any questions you may have if you need help. They also have ammo in stock which is impressive now a days since even Walmart has bare ammo shelves. This is the type of place you can either shoot quickly or relax the day away in your own world and take your sweet time. I definitely don't rush and tend to stay a while and shoot a lot of rounds when I come. I also always feel better after I go. There is something very relaxing after the addreline dump you get from shooting things.. everything seems very calm and serine afterward. Kinf of like meditation eith gun powder. You can also take concealed handgun classes here and get a discount if you are military. I like coming here for the different shotgun ranges, which shooting style varies depending on which bay you shoot in. This review is geared more to first time shooters as I'm a first time shooter like literally, first time EVER. First, shooting a gun is nothing like the movies. I suggest you come to the range with someone who has experience shooting a gun, but the staff is also very helpful. This range is outdoors and it's loud everywhere, the kind of loud you feel inside your body, especially when you yourself are shooting. This place is also a store where you can purchase guns, ammo, and other supplies. They also let you rent guns but there are some requirements for that such as you need a buddy to rent a pistol. It cost about $11 for the day to shoot at the range and there is no down town. They also give you a target. They don't have any ammo requirements either. They do ask you to wear safety glasses at the range which you can buy ahead of time. I also recommend getting ear muffs because of how loud it is. When you get to the lane they have a manual line to adjust your target if you want it near or far. I thought the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Overall I had a great first experience here and will go back to get more comfortable at shooting. read more

This is a good out of the way place to go shoot your pistols and rifles. Also have crazy quail and trap stations for you. Inside is fairly spacious. They offer new and used guns, as well as the appropriate ammo. Holsters, backpacks, virtually any gun accessory can be had. They charge per person and not per gun, as some gun ranges do. Two people comes to about $23 for however many guns you bring. Eye and hearing protection is required. We have our own, but I believe they'll rent you what you need. You pay and they give you a target. You can keep the target afterwards, but return the piece of cardboard it's attached to. They keep the spent shells, so don't be picking them up like they are still yours. There are a couple of 'range guards' I'll call them who make sure you follow the rules, are being safe and not stupid, etc. They are armed and do not put up with nonsense. They are OK. Today someone cut themselves and they came over with a first aid kit. Several years ago we took our concealed gun class here. They are still offered. Go there to shoot and learn. read more

Today my husband and I took the beginner handgun safety class and our instructor was Sean. The class was very informative and Sean was a professional and great instructor, he had the patience to answer all of our questions and made the class very helpful and not so intimidating. After taking the class I'm excited to start target shooting and get more familiar with my new Glock 19. We also sign up for the LTC class for April. My husband just bought a Glock 17 can't wait to start practicing together and getting better for our own safety and reassurance. read more

I took my LTC Class with Allan today highly recommend! Very organized no wasted time, the instructors first priority is safety making for a very reassuring classroom and range environment. We have been coming here for a few months to shoot and we love the place! Rifle range is nice 25-50-100-200yrds. The handgun area is covered which is a big plus for us, and they have grates for spent ammo to fall into so you don't have to stand on it. Good prices and they offer military discount. I recommend you bring your own ammunition, because theirs is a little pricey(not outrageous). The ammo cost would be my only complaint but they let me bring my own so I can't complain about anything this place is great and safe! read more

Went today with my family to shoot some clay. The man who checked me in was cordial and friendly, but the lady who checked me out must have been having a bad day because she very curt. Her demeanor and tone was very non-customer friendly. When I explained to her the count was off on the portable remote release tool. She just replied that it counts every time you push the button as if I was lying. Beware that sometimes when you push the button no disc is released and you will be charged the .36 each time. For me, I was charged an additional 4 discs that never shot out. I'm confident that I'm not the only one which means this place is generating quite a few false charges. This is generally a great place with a variety of ranges to shoot what you desire, but some of the employees sour the experience. read more

I understand you have a job to do as a range instructor but you honestly don't have to be an a**hole about it. We get it, you're in charge. I cannot count how many times I have been to "A Place To Shoot". I did get my CHL from A Place To Shoot. I have used all the shotgun ranges. I have used probably shot over 100 times at the pistol range. I have used their 25 yard, 50 yard, 100 yard, 200 yard and combination 25 / 100 yard range. I want to try out the new precision 100, 200, 300 yard range; but, I have not as of yet. Everything is high quality there. The Range Masters are nice; but, Safety First! Last Friday, I spent 9 hours there breaking in a rifle barrel. The staff never questioned it. I like to think of "A Place To Shoot" as my shooting range. read more

Very decent place, I came here a few years ago to practice for my LTC class. Check in was easy and they also have armed employees onsite for every flys safety. This is a outdoor range so on windy days your targets could trouble you by blowing in the wind . You self load your targets with a cabled mechanism. The street to drive up was a dirt road at the time with HUGE potholes that look like craters so low riding cars or sedans you're aware . My truck started overheating after range time so I fixed it right in the parking lot. Also parking was easy and abundant. read more

Took the introduction to handguns class with Sean this morning and had a great time! Being a first timer, I didn't go into the class with many expectations besides learning how to shoot a gun. Sean did a great job of getting to know everyone's objectives for taking the class and paying attention to the individual expectations of each patron. Sean emphasizes safety at all times during his lesson. During the first half of the class, everyone gets to shoot 4 different guns. During the last hour Sean let's you have free range with the gun of your choice. Definitely a great experience for my first time shooting. We'll definitely be back! read more

So I came here yesterday and the range is really nice and fun to shoot at the guys watching over the range were nice and helpful. I had a red dot that I wanted to transfer to another rifle to shoot it for the first time as my friend just bought it but had not gotten a sight yet, I forgot my tool to remove the sight and went inside to ask if they had a tool I could use. The first young man was very helpful and offered to transfer it for me. Then I went back in after shooting to ask to transfer it back. The older gentleman inside was free so I asked him, his response was what am I doing this for free in a really rude manner. I believe his name was Hank, thankfully the young man came back over and helped me out. While the range was nice all it takes is one person to talk down to you to not want to come back. If you are gonna charge someone for a service that's fine but he didn't have to come of rude and talk down to me. read more

I took the Basic Pistol and Safety class with Hank today and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. I booked my class easily online a few months ago. The description of the class perfectly describes what you will get out of this class. I received multiple reminders, and directions on what to bring. I simply showed up this morning about 10 minutes early, and walked in to meet my instructor, Hank. Hank was super knowledgeable and a talented instructor. Most importantly, he was patient with me and my one other classmate, and kept us completely safe. I had never shot a pistol previous to today, and I walked away with skills, experience and confidence needed to practice on my own, or use my pistol for defense if needed. The class started from absolute beginner and adds layer upon layer of knowledge, starting with grip, then the slide control, loading a magazine w practice ammo first, then putting that all together with actual ammo and beginning shooting at a target from three yards. Hank was quick to correct my many beginners mistakes in a respectful yet stern way. We're doing serious work, so I appreciate his commitment to safety and learning good habits. We moved back, and ended up shooting 40 rounds. I can't wait to come back and take the next pistol skills class, and to shoot at the range. Thanks y'all! read more
