It was my sorority sister's birthday and this was how she wanted to celebrate it. I'd been wanting to go to a range for a while and just hadn't prioritized it. Boy, am I'm glad I went. Im not an expert and I wouldn't even claim novice. I'm not a stranger to guns but I've never had to shoot one either (the BB gun I had as a kid is the exception). The service staff was great and informing me what gun to practice with. They really took their time explaining. I settled on a 45. The birthday girl was already inside getting a private lesson but she'd been the day before and bought a 22. Another sorority sister gave me a lot of tips so by the time the attendant came to walk me through, I was ready. I started with the 22 and that felt good. I did quite a few practice rounds with that one. I decided to try a small purple gun my sis brought with her. I had to! It was purple! The power from that gun was mightier than its size. I was blown away! So yeah, I went back to the 22 lol. I really enjoyed the day and was glad to celebrate with her but now I have a new interest. I priced the guns, I have no way of knowing whether I'm getting a good deal or not. I decided to have a talk with my cousin to see what he thinks and purchase later. If you've never been, just know the fees add up. You need ear protection & eye protection and they have it available for purchase. If you wear glasses, they count as eye protection. It's crazy loud, I used the ear plugs and the over the ear muffs. And of course there are fees to rent a gun (if you don't bring your own) and for use of the range. read more

A great place to shoot if you prefer indoor ranges. The staff was friendly and quite helpful to myself and my girlfriend. We're both new to firearms and gun ranges in general but the guys at this range helped make the experience a lot less nerve wracking and intimidating for us. We had great fun as a result. This place has gone downhill in regard to how people are treated at the range. The last few times I've visited have been a bad experience with range officers constantly starring and giving unsolicited advice. These things aren't so bad on their own but during our(wife and I) last visit there was a specific RO who was constantly behind us each time we looked back. It was very annoying and distracting to some degree and it made us feel like he either didn't trust us or was targeting us just to be a jerk. We did nothing unsafe or outside the norm and are both fairly experienced shooters but his excessive lingering made us feel like we were being micromanaged and incapable. It was very annoying and frustrating. This seems to be a theme for this RangeUSA location when reading other comments from visitors here. Further, during this visit a mag catch broke on a gun we had rented. Apparently this was a common issue with this gun. So I showed it to the RO. He asked if we were using store bought ammo and we informed him we were not. He said we have to use the store bought ammo for rented guns. I thought that he was trying to be a jerk and I just let it go. Then I took the gun back to the desk and got something else to try out. While there I asked if we have to use their ammo considering I am using the exact same ammo they sell(I was able to see the same box behind the counter) ...they said it would be fine if it is the same. So instead of buying a box to use with the new rental I went back into the range area with another gun and proceeded to use the same ammo. Only then did the RO enforce this rule that he had previously not cared about the entire time beforehand. So I told him: the front desk said it is okay because you sell the exact same box. He responded with: if it breaks you will be held liable for it. I responded with: okay fine I won't use it if it's going to upset you that much, and I did not shoot the gun at all. While I was gone he was giving my wife pointers on how to shoot and it frustrated her as she already knew a lot of what she needs to work on. I shot a few more from my own pistol but felt uncomfortable and like we were going to be targeted so we decided to leave. On the way out he noticed the chamber flag wasn't in the rented gun we had (it wasn't in there to begin with, it was only in the bucket they give with the gun) ...and he made sure to check us on it as if to flex on us for attempting to use the same ammo he let us use all along during the first part of our session. This experience went from bad to worse. If they are going to enforce a rule that they feel is important they should have a better procedure for doing so. It should not be emotion based and implemented only when someone upsets the RO. They should also be in agreement. Lastly, the rule should make sense. It makes absolute zero sense that we can't use the exact same ammo that they sell, if we didn't buy it from them, in order to prevent damage to their guns. Overall, I will still use this range intermittently for proximity but mainly just for transfer discounts that come with membership as it saves a lot on cost. I would have kept a constant membership and even taken classes here if not for the repeated micromanagement experiences and the recent one that really just was not the best. It is really upsetting as I had high hopes for this range when I first saw they were opening. What a letdown... read more

Transfers are $100 every where else in San Antonio is $45 and then you have to wait nearly an hour and a half to get your transfer. Customer service is very poor you literally have to get the staffs attention or you just stand and wait while they stand around and chat. I cancelled my membership. read more

Terrible service by the employees in the gun range constantly bugging us on our guns how there holstered at the table Then cleaning the shells off the ground. wasn't telling anyone else anything and said we were rapid firing but the people in the room beside us were doing it worse. we got bothered and talked to more then we shot our guns. read more

This place makes you fill out an extensive waiver before you even get to the counter. On top of that you have to pay and extra $6 first timer fee on top of $25 for the hour. The staff is also extremely slow. No thanks! Bye bye read more

The Range Staff needs to chill a little more they are super aggressive , super bad service

The range is only good for pistols. Too small a distance for rifle calibers. It's a clean place. Now to the cons; You will find consistent bad customer service. I've been here many times and the employees are there to hang out with each other. I was waiting to buy accessories with 4 employees on the floor and all are too busy to check me out. I left without buying anything. Another con is the membership prices and the excuses the staff give for the charges. Range USA doesn't know that the weekend is Sat & Sunday. They won't let you go shoot on Friday because the base membership is only good for regular weekdays. Since when did M-F change as a week? Then they charge a maintenance fee on top of your membership fee and try to justify it by letting you know that they screw everyone with that fee as if it's justification for the fees existence. One thing that they could change is hiring more customer service oriented people. NOT sales people or young timid kids that run away whenever a customer comes in. Nothing is as annoying to me than watching 'workers' chatting away while ignoring customers. If you can find a reasonable range close to you just go to that one over this one. read more

Order a gun online and it arrived Thursday 3/13/25 at 2pm. I keep getting update emails that it has been delivered. I called on 3/14/25 and they said I had to wait to be contacted. I'm going on 48 hours. This has been by far the worst experience ever. I would not recommend this place for a ffl transfer. There are better, faster and cheaper options in San Antonio. read more

Still a great place to shoot! I've been going here since it opened and will continue to do so. A $29 monthly basic membership pays for itself on the second visit. The location is close enough that I can go weekly or more. They have a good selection of ammo, fairly priced compared to other locations locally. They do have a strange method of sorting the ammo on the shelves and you may need to ask for assistance in finding a particular type, but there's almost always a clerk ready to help. Firearms are also competitively priced and the have a good variety to peruse and rent. I haven't tried any of their classes yet, but I plan to do so. read more

Cool and decent place to shoot. Cheapest membership fees in San Antonio especially if you are a veteran or law enforcement. Not as busy during the week compared to other indoor ranges in the area. They have a good collection of guns for sale in store and fairly cheap ammo depending on caliber. Staff are very friendly and helpful regardless of your level of knowledge on firearms. I usually learn something new every time I stop by to see what they got in store. They always give their honest opinions on firearms in stock. I recommend checking this place out. read more

Nice folks work here but corporate policy is not good. For Years I've been buying firearms and carrying for work with permit. I had a lower shipped to Range USA , for some reason after two months no reply from NICS. Law states after 5 days the ffl May release the firearm to purchaser. Range USA will not. Never! Corporate policy. After my years of service in law enforcement and security the manager said to me we won't release it because we're keeping the community safe. Huge insult. In town for son's USAF graduation. Came here to pass the time and let wife try out some shooting. Great customer service. Good rental selection and very nice clean range. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Ammo is expensive but that's every place. Also another review gives 1-star because your first time there can't be solo. It is frustrating but there's a good reason (suicides)-there's always a story behind every rule. They surely won't post the reason-but I can assure you that is it. Good call with military nearby. Went in to see about buying some parts tonight in between 6 and 7 p.m. A guy walked up asking if I needed help and then literally ran away. I turned to a chubby guy behind the counter and we made eye contact and as soon as we did he turned around and ignored me. So I'm not one to stick around for a third snub so I left. I've had a membership here for about 6-8 months. Reasonably priced and not a bad drive. Good customer service, friendly folks any time I've checked in or made a purchase. My issue is with the range management. They have two ranges making pistol and rifle caliber separation easy. Unfortunately, there's no effort to run both ranges or separate the bazookas and pea shooters on the same line with an empty lane between. Time to find another place to shoot. read more

The workers were very helpful and professional. This current visit was to purchase ammo and look at a few guns. I went in about a week ago and spent $1300. got a new sig and a romeo 1 red dot for it. I noticed it had some blemish marks on no big deal real good gun place nice range if you like indoor ranges. so did some research to find out if the romeo 1 sight would fit my weapon. It does not fight i have to have the romeo 1 pro is the only one that will fit. I took it back never had it out of the box, all I wanted to do was spend more money and get the pro. The man at the counter told me cant do it, asked him why not he said it was used, I explained to him that is the way you sold it to me, he told me know it was not. Long story short if you buy something from this store make sure it works, or fits and look it over real good because they do not stand behind there product. read more

Tonight was my first night here, Tuesday, ladies night - every single person that works here is SO HELPFUL! From the girl at the register checking us in to the amazing range master, Alfonso (seriously I hope he is or has an opportunity to teach classes for the range). If it wasn't for Sylvia I probably wouldn't have felt comfortable enough to begin this journey for the very first time. I was very nervous because it was my first time handling a firearm however, as soon as we entered and looked around a bit my hubby and I was greeted by Sylvia and her happy go lucky personality. She was very informative and instantly made me feel so comfortable and worry free. She helped us get everything we needed to get started and she also offered plenty of guidance from herself or from anyone that worked there especially the Safety Officers in the range. We interacted with 2 Safety Officers that more than likely did a shift change mid way through our session and both of them were very informative and had such a positive attitude. If I could give zero stars I would. Went here on super bowl Sunday. Shot on lane 2. Never experienced anything negative until this day. A couple showed up to the lane next to me. I guess the guy worked there as well because the "RSO" began chit chatting with him. I didn't think anything of it at first but the couple would not stop talking. They never took a break to breathe. No one wants to go to the range to hear a couple yap the whole time. The "RSO" was not doing his job and continued to yap with the couple. I guess they were buddies. His appearance and demeanor confirmed that he did not know a thing about being an RSO. He was a very scrawny little kid who looked like he was in middle school. He didn't pay attention to any of the other shooter when the couple showed up and they continued to talk and talk. I finally said something like, "holy shit do y'all ever stop talking??? Y'all haven't even taken a breathe." The "RSO" then approached me and said, " I'm sorry sir but people are allowed to talk. You can leave if you don't like it." I'll just leave it at that. I left and talked to the supervisor. He apologized and said that I have to understand he is a young kid and is new to being an RSO. He offered to put me on another lane but I was too angry at this point. What if another shooter shot someone by accident because the "RSO" was too busy yapping about what he ate over the weekend?? I will never go to this place again and will tell everyone I know that this place has horrible customer service. Can't believe I've wasted so much money here in the past only to experience this. As a Marine Veteran, you'd think I would have some level of respect from some scrawny "RSO" who probably can't even hit a target at ten yards. read more

This was my first time here and I was greeted immediately. I needed to zero a rifle and was assigned one quickly. Prices for the range are very reasonable. The shooting lane I had was clean and the area is well maintained. I will have to bring my own spotting scope next trip, though. The one provided is okay but my eyes aren't what they used to be.
