Closed store at working hours with no sign

Extremely disappointing experience. I placed an order and was charged immediately. The restaurant was supposed to open at 12:00 PM. It showed as open on DoorDash, their official website, and Google Maps. I even received a confirmation text saying my order was accepted. I drove to the location -- only to find it completely closed. No staff, no sign, no explanation. I called about 10 times, and no one picked up. There's no clear way to request a refund, and I wasted both time and money. This kind of service is unacceptable. Update: About an hour after the official opening time, someone finally showed up and mumbled something about being "stuck in traffic." On a Sunday? The roads were completely clear. They refunded my order as an apology, which I appreciate. Hopefully, the pizza will be worth it next time. Adding a couple of stars for making things right. Final update: By the way -- the pizza was absolutely delicious. Truly one of the best I've had in the area. If it weren't for the earlier experience, I'd gladly leave 5 stars. I'll definitely order here again, and if this kind of issue doesn't happen again, I'll happily update my review to 5 stars. For now -- sticking with 3.

Everett WA. Down the street from the Indigo. Little place at the end of the strip mall. Almost missed it. Came to the shop and ordered a house special no onion add olive, and a Cesar salad. Going to have a slice in the car and see what it's like right out of the oven. Then maybe a picture. Run by a nice friendly man on the night I was in. The food was very average. I ate a piece right when I got to my car and while it was hot, the flavors of pizza just didn't hit the tastebuds. The ingredients were from a food service store and of average quality. I like they use fresh veggies. Even the Cesar I had didn't have a single piece with any rust color. With croutons and mozzarella it was fine but the generic canned dressing didn't scream Cesar and kind of ruined the salad. All in all, average. I think I would have like a pie from Culaccino instead but I was too lazy to drive there.

If you're familiar with CanAm Pizza, A Pizza House is very similar. We love CanAm and when we found out that A Pizza House has similar pies, we decided to give it a try. A Pizza House is in a busy strip mall in downtown Everett. The guys who work here are friendly but reserved. I think some of this is because they must deal with a lot of crazy energy. For some reason, the parking lot and surrounding area are always full of people--local, neighborly, and transient alike. While we were waiting for our pizza we saw someone barrel into the parking lot, go into a store, and leave the same precarious way they left, talking to themselves the entire time. A Pizza House is seemingly always busy. Our order took a little longer because it seemed they were a bit short-staffed. We tried the Mushroom Tikka pizza and the Achari Chicken Tikka pizza. I chose a tiramisu for dessert. The pizza itself is not NY style, which is my favorite pizza of all time. This is definitely more along the lines of most popular mainstream chains. However, the taste and novel flavor combinations make up for the crust. The Achari was heavier on the spice than I anticipated. Way heavier. I liked the Mushroom Tikka much better. And the tiramisu was surprisingly delicious. You can order on their website, walk in, or call. I suggest ordering ahead of time and giving them plenty of time to make your order.

...but they insisted the pizza must be 14" because that's what the box said. Seriously. After I sent them the picture measuring it as 12"

WARNING!!! I ordered a large (14") pizza and was not pleased to bring it home and immediately notice it was a medium (12"). (A life spent around vinyl records made that obvious on sight.) I called to let them know they made a mistake and asked if I could get the difference between a large and a medium refunded. They asked me to bring the pizza back, but after a 2+ mile roundtrip on foot to pick it up, I said no, just refund the difference please. They refused because the bottom of the box said 14", and therefore it must be a large. However, according to my measuring tape (and the very roomy box) it's obvious I was being lied to. But no, they kept insisting that since the box said 14", I got a large pizza, not a medium one. Yes, even after sending them photographic proof of the size of the pizza, they kept insisting that I got a large because the box said 14". When I called back after sending the pictures, they immediately hung up on me. Gee, that's not shady at all. So while I never order from them again, here are the pictures I was talking about. All I wanted was a refund of the price between a medium and large, which is roughly $1.30. Instead, I'm stuck telling y'all to watch out for these rip-off artists. Shame on you, A Pizza House.

This place is awful! The pizza smelled like a foreign food that we could not identify. The pizza could not be eaten due to the smell and taste, but the owner claimed that she does not know how to give a refund! I would give zero stars if that were an option. read more

My first visit to this downtown Everett establishment since moving into the Everett area. Because of other Yelpers... thanks to all your reviews, I've found another gem in my new neighborhood! We order two medium sized pizzas and an order of hot wings. Their house special was amazing! One of the main reasons why I decided to try their pizza was because of the crispy bacon bits...I've only found one other pizza establishment in all of Washington that use this ingredient as a topping and it was another family owned pizza establishment in Burien! Since I've moved from the area over 10 years ago, I've been on hunt on the north end to find a similar style pizza and I think I've found it with A1 Pizza!! So looking forwards to trying the other pizza specialties now that I've discovered them. read more

My family came here on a whim (the place we were going was closed). What an amazing find! The meatball sub was amazing, the spicy italian was delicious, the chicken parm was awesome, and the calzone was super good. The bread was crunchy and soft, you can tell it's homemade. And not nearly as expensive as we thought it would be, for such high quality food. We will definitely be back read more

I stopped in today and purchased Italian grinder they call it a hot sandwich and a slice of pre-made pizza the pizza was good you could definitely taste the garlic in it the sandwich it was okay overall for the value the meal was well worth it however for authentic Italian food I think I I'd go somewhere else probably won't come back unless it's just for the slice of pizza I wasn't impressed at all with the hot sandwich the place is not ran by Italians it's run by Indians that's probably what the difference in taste is. The fella waiting on me was okay barely spoke didn't really seem overly friendly or over-enthusiastic that I was even there for lunch. read more

They don't skimp on the cheese, that's for sure! Small family owned and operated business. Pizza is delicious, you can buy it by the slice if you want or have an entire pizza made. My favorite is the garlic cheese bread. TONS of fresh garlic (not minced or powder) and TONS of cheese. Can't go wrong. The location is sketchy. A lot of street people hang around the midnight convenience store next store, including the shared parking lot. Nothing fancy inside, looks like an outdated pizza joint. One individual bathroom. Regardless, I love cheese and they are very generous with their cheese portions. read more

A great place for pizza in Everett. The garlic cheese sticks are my favorite, but the pizza is great too. Toppings are under the crust which allows for all the cheese to get gold and bubbly. The staff/owners are lovely people with great customer service. Recommended! read more

I just started eating my pizza. I love pizza. It is my favorite food. I have seen A Pizza House so many times, but never ordered. I looked at the good reviews and thought I would give it a try. I called in and ordered a x-large double pepperoni and double black olive pizza. The crust is done perfect and the amount of cheese is great! I love spicy food so I added red pepper flakes. This will be my new "go to" pizza place. The only thing that I will want to improve is to add even more black olives. But that is me, and not a reflection of the establishment. The lady who helped me was very nice and I think she may be the owner. I ordered late; I think they were closing soon. Even with that she was very pleasant. Many times when a pizza place is closing they get cranky if you order. She even took the time to open the box before I left with my order. These types of small gestures are what I like. Yes, I will be going here as often as I can. I like privately owned stores and will support them over large chains. Please support this store - she/they deserve it! read more

The pizza is decent but they screw up my order every time. Customer service is terrible. I've had it happen twice that I arrive to pick up my food at the quoted time and still have to wait 20+ minutes. The person working there had the nerve to argue. They have also made substitutions (cheese bread instead of cheese sticks) when they run out of things without checking with us and still charge full price. read more

Pretty good pizza. Got the house special and a pepperoni pizza. Not too greasy. Great crust. Giving this place 4 stars because they make a beautiful fresh green salad, but their ranch is a low budget Kraft type of dressing. Not good and we couldn't eat the whole salad because the ranch was just bleh. Would be great if they made their own ranch like other top notch pizza places do. read more

They serve a decent pizza at a decent price. I do like their meatball sub quite a bit as well. Overall, they would be four stars, but recently they started charging me for extra sauce (I like my pizza saucey). I've ordered pizzas from all sorts of places across the country, and never get charged for getting my pizza with extra sauce (by which, I mean additional sauce on the pie itself, not on the side). To get charged a whopping $2 like a regular full-on topping for extra sauce is totally unreasonable. This is a recent development here as well, only in the last couple months has it happened. read more

Bought a lg. pepperoni mushroom for take out. Cheese was good. Toppings were okay, but the tomato sauce was actually quite special. It has a unique taste with just a slight spiciness that was actually really good. Some places have sauce that is too sweet but this was great. I think it made the pie, if that is a thing. read more

I have no idea how anyone can give this place one star unless they're a New York style pizza snob. No, it isn't thin. No, it isn't crispy. It's thick, it's loaded with toppings, and it's drowning in cheese- just the way our family likes a pizza. We come in here about once every two months- not enough to feel like regulars, but they always remember our order. They're friendly and their service is great. It goes without saying we'll be back. And back again. And back again. Get the house special. Unless thin, crispy pizza is your thing, you won't be disappointed. read more

The reviews sounded good so my fiance and I decided to try it... I hate leaving mediocre reviews, but this place didn't wow me. Maybe just to much cheese for my taste.. and way to many onions that were too thick and uncooked and this really has nothing to do with the quality of the food, but I really really dislike it's location. It's in a know area for drug related activities and in my opinion, not a safe place if your in any way, vulnerable. I feel bad because the owners of in house pizza are, in fact, very nice people, and that's why I gave them 4 stars. read more

First time trying based on top 3 in Live in Everett poll. Ordered the calzone. Very large with lots of filling. Good flavor to the crust and sauce. Crust a little overdone for my taste, with a very small cup of sauce considering the size. Also wish there was a build your own calzone option. Reasonable price. I will be back to try other menu items. In a small strip mall at a busy intersection. Easy to get into and plenty of parking but only a few tables inside. read more

Loved this place before, during and will after COVID. Pizza is good and the spicy wings are great (not hot, flavorful). Love the owners, they're always friendly. Visit at least once every two weeks. Definitely recommend trying this place!!! read more

Picked up a pie here today for the first time based on other reviews. It was great! We got the Bakers Delight, loved every ingredient except for the balls of sausage, but I've never liked a ball sausage ever. Crust was perfect for me- medium thickness, light and fluffy. Cheese was plentiful and delicious. I chose 5 stars because it's the first pizza I've had in a long time that was delicious without being almost unbearably salty, even with bacon bits. Looking forward to a more veggie-forward pie next time. read more

The pizza here slaps. If you go in for the walk-in deals, it's literally the best bang for your buck pizza in town. They introduced indian pizzas recently and they're also about as good as you're gonna get unless you want to go down near Lynwood. I hope they keep improving on these recipes, they're a few iterations away from culinary greatness. read more

I have pizza a couple times a month and this was the first time I tried A Pizza House. What a surprise! I've tried many of the pizza houses in town and found them to be OK. The pizza at this place though tastes a bit different from the rest. And the difference is great! We had a large Special and a small Hawaiian pizza. Both had plenty of ingredients clear to the edges of the pie - almost as much filling as the center. A nice combination of ingredients adorned both pizzas. I highly recommend this place. I'm going again. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Super friendly delivery drivers, their house special is amazing but I always try something new from here, always tastes very freshly made and they never disappoint. They use some of the best cheese I've ever tasted on a pizza, if you live in North Everett and you're looking to order A Pizza there is literally no better place to call :) read more

I'm pretty sure I have that location 5 stars. I have a friend who lives in Snohomish County and I had told him about Jet, so we decided to get pizza during the Seahawks Playoff run. Immediately, I was concerned. When he called, we got a bot and the bot couldn't understand our order. We wanted to remove peppers from the pizza and add flavor crust and the AI Bot fumbled all of that. When we got the pizza, it tasted nothing like the one I had in Tacoma, this was dry, lacked flavor and crispness. And the AI Bot didn't get our order right. My friend, who is a certified Pizza Fiend, looked at me like I had sold hold on life changing pizza that tasted like it came from a grocery store freezer. I ate one slice and tapped out. He ate 2, which is far few then he would normally have and the kicker was him telling me to take the leftovers with me. He is a certified day 2 pizza guy, but he waved it off. I'll be honest, that pizza was so bad, I don't know if I'd even go back to Tacoma. Oh well, there is no shortage of pizza on the planet, so we'll all be okay.

My son discovered this place when he was a freshman in high school. He has been out of high school for six years and Gulshan remembers us EVERYTIME we come in. She even knows our voices on the phone and remembers our order. Most everyone has reviewed the pizza (which I agree is amazing). However, I would like to talk about the chicken wings. Quite frankly they are awesome. There are three varieties to choose from--Spicy, barbecue, or Italian. Spicy is definitely spicy. If you like hot and tasty you will like them. Barbecue is just the right combo of spicy/sweet. My favorite is the Italian wings. Delicious spicy herby flavor. The "hotness" of the spice will leave heat on your lips and the inside of your mouth. And there is this aftertaste that is sort of herby and aromatic. The skin is crunchy and the actual wings have lots of moist meat. I am addicted to these things. The price is such a sweet deal too. For a 10 piece $6.99, 20 piece $13.99, and 30 piece $20.99. I usually order the 20 piece. I eat about 8 for a meal, so I always have leftover for lunch the next day and snacks. You can get a side of creamy sauce to go with these delicious spicy, crunchy, moist and yummy gems or you can eat them without. I love them plain. OMG!!! THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA EVER. So it has a layer of cheese then toppings then more cheese. Its a little bit more than other pizzas.... BUT SOOOOOOOO WORTH EVERY BITE. Buy a smaller pizza than you think you need unless you wan left overs because it is so yummy and filling. mmmmm cant wait to go again. Thicker crust pizza loaded down with goodness. Like the other review states the pizzas have some heft to them, I can make a large last through the week.
