It was time for me to reset the clock and do things different. But I knew I needed help and Rachel got recommended to me and I met with her and felt comfortable that she would be the right person to help me on my journey. I worked with her on a 3 month program that was initially geared to make better food choices while on the road and get more knowledgeable on nutrition while she would hold me accountable. Due to Covid19 things changed and other challenges e.g. lack of physical activity came up. Nevertheless, the knowledge and tools as well as the continuous consulting Rachel provided guided me through this phase with weekly weight loss goals and sometimes a pep-talk if needed. Just by changing my macro nutrition content and the caloric intake I was able to shed over 25 lbs. in 3 month with basically no loss of muscle. Working with Rachel was great, she is very knowledgeable and attentive to clients' needs but what distinguishes her from many others coaches out there is that I felt she really cares about you as a human being and understands that even failure can be a success if the right conclusions are drawn from it. She was always patient and encouraging but at the same time was clear on the goal expectation. I can definitely recommend her. Altogether, I've been a Lifetime member off and on going back to 2003, and while there's always plenty of comparison and criticism from members, there isn't a better fitness operation around. Even though I don't go to this location often, I'm very comfortable with its layout because it's pretty much identical to my old club in Columbus, Ohio. While I have not taken any classes at Flower Mound, it is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and want in a club. In addition to the multitude of weights, classes, personal training, and treadmills, it also has a recovery area which, although smaller than Las Colinas, offers the massage chairs, cryo chairs and leg compression found at my home club. The #1 reason I belong to Lifetime from an amenities standpoint is because of recovery/rejuvenation - that alone is worth the price of admission. I love that Flower Mound took one of its two hot tubs in the main lap pool area and converted it to a cold plunge - so it's worth the trip when I go over there to play pickleball and then go to the tubs. As for pickleball itself, the courts are next to the basketball court as they occupy part of what was once a full area devoted to hoops. The courts are side by side and have no dividers. Last time I was there the club left a basket of balls that everyone plucked from when they didn't want to chase down a ball from their court, which I don't think is a great fix as you end up with tons of balls lying around that someone could step or trip on. As for the pickleball experience itself, the players are friendly, the space is a bit humid, sometimes there's an attendant there - sometimes not. The experience is the equivalent of what you'll find at a municipal operation like Wagon Wheel in Coppell or L.B. Houston - smaller parks with some programming, except that it is indoors with fewer courts. I don't get the impression it's run very well, or that it's a top club priority, but it's good enough to work into my playing routine from time to time when I want to change it up. Overall, the Flower Mound Lifetime, based on the time I've spent there, is an excellent health and fitness choice packed with value no matter your health mission.

I took the 5:30 A.M. class this morning before my run and boy am I glad that I did!! I got a total body strength training workout and I'm already feeling the soreness as I type. If you are looking for a true community of fitness minded individuals this is IT. Plus, there are all sorts of running trails in the area (for my running peeps) so you could make it a double dose. But you can tell the instructors really care about the community here and are genuine and that is something that is so crucial when choosing a fitness program.
