Had my son's car break down in Big Bear over Labor Day weekend and needed a tow all the way to Santa Monica. Called Performance Towing and they had someone out within the hour. Timothy was super friendly and made it easy. Car got to the shop no problem, would definitely use them again and especially for long distance tows. Luckily I have the Premier AAA membership,(up to 200 miles coverage) so the tow was completely covered. read more

I have had AAA for 17 years, this is my first time using the service. My Ram 3500 over heated east of Baldwin Lake, Carlos arrived in short of 20 minutes from the end of the phone call, he got my vehicle loaded on his truck, strapped down and got us to Hesperia smoothly. Excellent operator as well as driver. Highly recommended. read more

Was visiting Big Bear this past weekend with a friend and 7 youth, on a yearly summer youth trip, when our church van blew a hose on our way back up the up the mountain. A-Performance got there quickly and got the van up the mountain safely. Thank you to the tow truck driver who was God sent. Will definitely recommend to friends and family visiting the area. read more

It's not every day you end up needing three tows in 24 hours, but that was exactly our experience during a Thanksgiving trip to Big Bear. After going off-roading in Fawnskin, our car died deep in the woods--truly the middle of nowhere. We called AAA, who sent Kevin from A-Performance Towing, and he arrived quickly. He immediately diagnosed the issue and assured us it wasn't the alternator, as I had suspected. With it being a holiday weekend, only one shop was open, and Kevin recommended we tow it there. He was right--our battery was completely done. An hour later, with a new one installed, we were back on the road. Feeling confident, we went off-roading again... and four hours later, the truck stalled again. AAA dispatched A-Performance Towing once more. We were much farther up the mountain this time, and my signal was so spotty that my location was pinging miles away. The owner, Corey, personally called me, knew the trails well, and still managed to find us. He navigated rough terrain, got us safely out, and provided incredibly helpful insight. It was clear the issue was more serious than a battery. Corey recommended towing to a dealership since no local shop could likely diagnose it over the holiday weekend. He even called the Dodge dealership in Moreno Valley himself to coordinate and make sure we could speak directly with the service manager. The level of professionalism was truly outstanding. This morning, their driver Reyes towed my truck to the dealership and was an absolute pleasure to work with--friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Most people don't expect exceptional service from towing companies, but A-Performance Towing is in a league of its own. From Kevin to Corey to Reyes, every one of them went above and beyond to take care of us, offering guidance, support, and genuine care when we needed it most. I'm incredibly grateful, and every time I come back up the mountain, I'll make a point to stop by and thank Corey, Reyes, and Kevin personally. Using this company is a no-brainer--truly elite service from start to finish. read more

Went through AAA and this company refused to tow to Upland Ca both the day of the collision and the day after. AAA, found a new company.

Worst towing company I've ever experienced! Timothy was the most unprofessional tow truck driver! What grown man balls his fist up in approaches a woman who calls her a stupid female dog! Pretty sure he was high or something ! read more

After a full day of motorcycle riding, my bike shut down at the highest point on Highway 38 near Big Bear. I borrowed a phone and called AAA, and they dispatched APerformance Towing. About 30 minutes later, Zion arrived--and I couldn't have asked for better service. Zion was a true professional and a class act. He took great care of both me and my motorcycle, and after a 65-mile trip, we were delivered home safely. I want to sincerely thank Zion and APerformance Towing for turning a tough situation into a great experience. Highly recommend--AAA+ service! read more

Outstanding service! This is my third time using this company. I can't thank David from A Performance Towing enough! We were stranded near Big Bear with both tires blown out from a pothole, and every towing company we called refused to help or make the drive. Luckily, David stepped up when no one else would. Not only did he manage to tow us out of a tricky spot with ease, but he also made the entire experience stress-free. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and a safe driver--making the ride down comfortable and reassuring. It's rare to find someone so considerate and skilled in a tough situation. If I ever need a tow again, I'm calling A Performance Towing and requesting David without hesitation. Highly recommend--10/10 experience! read more

A-Performance Towing - Spun out. Thanks A- Performance Towing! - Towing Near Me - Big Bear Lake, California

In February 2024 my car hot a pot hole when visiting our cabin in Big Bear. It was a Sunday and a holiday weekend so A-performance was the only company willing to tell me back home to Los Angeles. My experience started out excellent the driver was helpful and Even told me he was a shaman. When we arrived back to Los Angeles I paid the driver for the mileage overage and gave him a $200 tip. I was only over 15 miles because my first hundred miles is free being I am a gold member over 20 years with AAA. The driver ended up stealing my money Etting the fee for the mile overage and the Tip reporting that I never paid the bill to AAA. today I launched an investigation and I'm sure I will win this place hires thieves who pretend to be shaman and steal your money. today I started an investigation with AAA looking into the matter. Be careful keep your receipt these people are thieves. read more

My husband and I were stuck on the side of the narrow Hwy 18 with a flat and no spare. They don't supply them in new cars anymore. Who knew? Brian, from A performance tow wouldn't leave us at the side of the road and took us back to the yard, tried to do what he could to fix an unfixable tire, gave us water, a bathroom and just a lot of human kindness above and beyond. We Were lucky to get him. Highly recommend. read more

Used A Performance today! Awesome service. Joe came out quickly and pulled me out of the snow! Very courteous and efficient! I've used them before. Always the same, very professional, pleasant and efficient from the owner, Cory down to his drivers! Tim, Brian, Joe, Nate and Kevin. Just to name a few. Thanks A Performance! read more

Car got stuck in snow after a day of snowboarding and A-performance Towing was helping other people who were stuck so I asked if he could help us too. The man who helped us (my two girl friends and I) was so friendly and kind. No complaints there. He even tried helping us get the car out before actually towing us but we were STUCK. The only slightttt issue I have is I had asked how much for a tow (I have AAA but was told service with AAA is on a first come first serve basis and he had other calls and it was getting dark so didn't want to wait 2 hours possibly) and I was told it would be $250. I check my card the next day and it was charged $270. $20 isn't a big deal, especially because he was kind and helpful but if it's $250, I should've only been charged $250. Not a big deal, keep it as a tip, but just be aware of what they charge and what you're being charged. read more

A-Performance Towing - David with A Performance Towing - Towing Near Me - Big Bear Lake, California

My wife and I went on a weekend getaway to Big Bear a couple weeks ago. We ran into some car trouble and needed a tow. First, they came and were able to get the vehicle started. They actually had to come again because even though it was able to start, it was safe to drive. Most of my experience with tow truck drivers are negative. Generally, they seem to have a bad attitude. We were helped by Nate and another gentleman (I don't remember his name) and they had a good attitude and were extremely helpful. If you ever get stuck up in the mountains, give these guys a call! read more

We were headed down Hwy 38 when our hood suddenly flew open and smashed our windshield. We were not able to drive safely so we called AAA. They connected us with Joe at A Performance Towing. Joe was friendly & professional. He offered us water as soon as we got in the cab. It was an 85 mile tow back home and he entertained us all the way home with his towing adventures. I would highly recommend them if you are ever in need. read more

They are contracted with AAA so it didn't cost us to use their service. Would absolutely use them again, although I hope I never have to :) read more

I can't say enough good things about this company! We had a two-day towing fiasco after losing a fob while snowboarding, and needed to get the car to Arrowhead for the night and then back to San Diego the next day. Kevin was so patient and kind as we kept trying to figure out the best plan, and taking multiple wrong turns while leading him to the house. The next day was a Sunday and we called a bunch of different locksmiths and towing companies and nobody was available or willing to help, so we called A-Performance again and they totally went above and beyond coming to pick it up outside their normal area and towing 2.5 hours away to San Diego. So grateful for their help saving a birthday weekend getaway! read more

A-Performance Towing - Towing Near Me - Big Bear Lake, California

I just want to start off by saying, David saved us! We were in Big Bear during this recent snow storm, prepped with SUVs and snow chains thinking we were prepared. Well, it didn't stand up to the storm that happened this weekend. Our SUV was stuck at the bottom of the street, unable to get up the hill to our rental property. AAA quoted a response time of 2 hrs and David reached out within 15 minutes. He showed up shortly after to assess the situation and took a stab at trying to get us up the hill. Our car couldn't do it. We were yelled at by people trying to get by, telling us to move like we wish we could! David went above and beyond what any technician is expected to do, he even helped redo our chains and gave us his personal tighteners. He didn't have to but he did. There are nice people in this world but David is one of those that restores your faith back in humanity and that there are genuinely nice people who want to help just because, left in this world. We appreciate you David and can't thank you enough! We hope to meet you again but under different circumstances . read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Do not waste your time or money using them, even if you have AAA because they're the only contracted company in Big Bear, you're literally better off paying out of pocket for a more reliable service. Confirmed pick up from company to take us back home, waited 1.5+ hours, put car on truck, when we finally got inside THE OWNER texted and called the driver saying "yeah we're not taking them back home we have too many calls now" and they literally dropped us off back in Big Bear further than where we needed to be, with nowhere to go, in the middle of a parking lot. Then tried to say if you have nowhere to go you can pay $80 a night to keep your car with us?! Company cares more about $ than safety and well being of customers. They wasted our time and put us in a horrible situation that spanned 5 hours. Owner and company are the worst, driver was actually a decent human but his hand were understandably tied. read more

Worst experience I've ever had with anyone . AAA called and booked him he was rude over the phone with my tech. When we just needed some help he told them three hrs to wait for a tow which I get they are busy. I called him to get an update super rude ( I don't give a S... attitude) besides all this I was like at least he's going to help us with a tow and then last minute he canceled. What a real piece read more

AAA was sending them to my aid at big bear. They called and said 2 hours as one call was ahead of me, understandable. I later get a call for another 2 hours as yet another call that was ahead of me and had slipped their mind. At this point I cancelled as I was finding another option. My other plans didn't go well so I called back an hour later, their dispatch took up the call from aaa and later called me and asked if I was the guy that cancelled and when I said yes he said I shouldn't have cancelled now they are busy until next day. Felt like they were being spiteful and they also made sure to text me after letting me know I won't find anyone else to tow me, thanks guys!! read more

My husband and I got a pothole coming into Big Bear late Fri night and got a flat tire immediately. After some scheduling difficulty with AAA (no fault of A-Performance whatsoever), David Wyman came to get us at the Chevron we were stuck at the next morning. Shout out to Tim and Joe for being really awesome at customer service! they went above and beyond to help out! you can put a price on towing, but the value of a genuine human that actually is trying to look out for another human is priceless... Great people. Great service.
