They were dispatched by AAA when I contacted them because my car wouldn't start. Wasn't as simple as a battery so I needed a tow to the closest shop. They called almost immediately after I got through the AAA chat bot and the driver got here within 10 minutes. Blade was great, super nice, checked the battery and listened to what was going on and got the car up on the truck within a few minutes. My parking lot is not ideal but he got me out of my spot and to the shop with no issues. I appreciate the speed of his arrival and was a genuinely nice guy throughout our interaction. I would give 0 if it would let me. moron driver showed up for my fiance' because the rear main blew. Big puddle of oil under it. She told the driver it had no oil and left him with the car. We have him ON VIDEO operating the vehicle for 2-1/2 minutes until it died. He spent ANOTHER 30 seconds cranking it before finally winching. Now, the vehicle has a dead engine with no compression. Three separate mechanics stated (after actually looking at it) the driver killed it. The owner? Just flat refuses to even acknowledge his driver burned up the motor. Never looked at it, just said "nope". So now, I have to sue him to make this right. AVOID THESE ASSHOLES LIKE THE PLAGUE! read more

WHEN IS IT EVER OK TO DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT HAS BEEN REQUESTED TO BE TOWED??? Anything but A ONE service (as someone else said) ... Called for a tow because my rear main seal blew in my work parking lot. Told the driver this. Put it in the AAA notes to driver as well. Towed to repair shop and driver told the shop he knew what was wrong with my car - it lacked compression. He could only know that through operating the vehicle. I pulled video footage from the parking lot A-One's driver picked the car up from and it shows the driver getting in the car and backing it out to a degree that could not be in neutral, presumable leaving the car running while he got out & lowered his bed, then attempting to drive the vehicle onto the bed and as soon as the vehicle is in angled position it dies (car ran for ~2min 30 seconds) and rolls back off the platform then the driver continues to try to restart the car for 28 seconds. The owner / manager (???) Kevin Morgan refused to take any responsibility even after viewing the video evidence. BTW the driver stated he used a winch and had video evidence as such but never supplied it because IT DID NOT EXIST. And this happened on December 15th, right before Christmas. A-One took my vehicle from fixable to FUBAR. Cannot upload my video here because it is more than 90 seconds. -100 stars wouldn't be a poor enough rating for this. read more

This company is an absolute joke. I requested a tow thru AAA and they contract with them. They sent some incompetent driver to my home to tow my car, he arrived at 923am-had no clue how to tow a car! Ripped the side of my bumper off, had to call another driver to help him get the car on the truck (his name is Timothy). Then to add insult to injury, when he finally got my car to the Shop, he was aggressively shaking my car on the flat bed-so much that the mechanic came out and stopped him. Then my husband said if you damage my car, I'm going to sue you. Apparently he perceived this at a threat, called the owner of the shop and the police-because my husband threatened him. He refused to take my car off the flat bed, and blocked the business for over 30 minutes with his childish banter! After 2 hours and 20 minutes, my car finally made it to the Repair Shop. As a AAA customer of over 26 years, you would think any company they do business with would be reputable with knowledgable staff. A one towing is a hit or miss company, you may get a couple of potheads, or you just may get a decent driver. I had one of my vehicles towed by A1 this weekend. The two drivers showed up early which was nice, though when they went to load my car my delight quickly changed to mortification. The car is obviously low to the ground, being in the auto indistry for years, everyone knows you are supposed to put wooden blocks under the tires. this was not done. if I had my mufflers on they would have ripped off my entire rear exhaust. I called AAA to file a damage claim and A1 sent over the most condescending agent they had, I believe his name was Kevin. Apparantly since cosmetic damage was done near an exhaust hole, on the exterior of the car, that means his professionals would NEVER forget to use wooden blocks and drag a car by the undercarriag. with multiple photos showing FRESH damage to the bumper, Kevin hangup the phone on me initially when trying to explain my case. said to just take it up woth AAA. If you don't have to deal with A1, don't. unless you have like a cheap Corolla or a Honda, they don't seem to care about their customers vehicles after their drivers obviously make mistakes. beware read more

I have received service from A-One before, for a dead battery. This time, it was for a tow to a repair center after my car was hit yesterday and badly damaged. I needed the vehicle towed from my home to the collision repair location, and A-One sent Chris M., an efficient, knowledgeable, and cheerful guy who was all about getting the car on its way, but also remaining present and personable while doing so. Although he expertly completed the task in mere minutes, I enjoyed the brief chat that accompanied his professional and expeditious approach to the work. Yesterday was my first encounter with this company. And it was horrible. The tow truck driver ran over my dog! When he was waved down his only words were," I didn't do it." This company has THE softest drivers I've ever heard of at a towing outfit! I used to be a AAA member and AAA used them for a contractor, they called me to let me know they were on their way, I had already told dispatch that the car was at a shop and needed it towed back to my house. The driver asked me if I was going to be with the car, I said no, I wasn't there and they could just tow it to my house, I'd be there to receive it. He stated I had to be there, with an ID for them to pick it up, so I replied, F, it, I guess I'll be there then. He told me how far out he was and then called dispatch and told them I cursed him out and they cancelled my tow. So guess what, I cancelled AAA and called Cardinal Towing who were cheaper anyways and much fast, better deal for me all the way around. AAA tow. The operator attached the tow chains to the tow hooks on my Miata and let the linkage go under the car. When he used the cinch to pull the car onto the bed of the truck, there was not enough clearance between the lip of the car and the bed so that when the chain tightened, it deformed the lip of my car as the chain dragged under it. I watched this happen. I told the driver (who had to see it happen), and he acted as if he didn't know what I was talking about but said he would take photos at the service station. When he backed the car off the truck using the parking brake, he went too fast and the lip hit the bed again. I called in my report to AAA and to A-1. A-1 asked for more photos even though the driver had taken them. I got the car on a lift, took the photos, and sent them. A-1 called and told me that the damage was pre-existing--like I had run up on a curb (you don't run up on curbs in a Miata--you run into them). Told me he would let AAA mediate the claim. DO NOT USE. I witnessed the damage, reported it, the driver had to see it happen, offered proof of the damage consistent with what I saw happen, and they denied it. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Well, I'm going to give A-One 5 stars. My son was stranded about a week ago at 1000 at night and calls me and tells me the engine just quit. A-One was estimated at 1035, Tyler, the tow truck operator was there at 1015. He was careful putting the lowered Honda on the flatbed and was very courteous the entire time. I had the car towed home thinking I could figure it out, no such luck. I called AAA again and A-One came out to pick it up on time again, the young fellow, didn't catch his name was very courteous as well. He towed it to the garage I was working with and again was careful loading and unloading. I can understand how tempers flair when it doesn't go your way. I am a service advisor for a car dealership and when the car breaks, it's not opportune, understood, however, A-One went above and beyond. Highly recommend read more

If I could give him the correct rating it would be a -1000. Caleb arrived and tried to start the battery on my dad's car without success. The AAA $200 battery has a 3 year warranty and he called GARY who did not want to honor the warranty. He kept giving conflicting information to Caleb and told him he didn't give a Flying F if I was the president , he was on Caleb's speaker phone. I told him I heard him and he wasn't the president either how do I get the battery replaced? He told me to F OFF!!!! and told Caleb to leave. I am reporting him to the Better Business Bureau and AAA Corporate. I am not sure if he only acts like that with Minorities and just MEAN AND EVIL. MY money is Green too! I called in April to get my car towed, and they were abusive as a company. The tow truck driver told lies and fabricated stories to his supervisor after damaging my car. I had told him that he would see a "nuclear karen" if he damaged it. He decided to tell his supervisor that I had threatened to destroy his life. Nothing could be further from the truth. By "nuclear karen" I obviously meant extremely pissed off. As they walked away, the supervisor said that "there was no way they were paying damages to that bitch". I have been trying to find a defamation lawyer ever since, but apparently, there are none in Missouri. So I decided to post this review to warn people about their practices and that they need to find a different towing company. One that is honest, hardworking, responsible, and trustworthy. In a nutshell, that means avoid A-One towing. Do not ask for or accept any kind of dealings with them. They will not treat you like anything but their bitch. I'm giving them a one star rating only because it's required to post. If I could, I would give them a star rating below zero. read more

Don't ever accept them as your service provider if you need a tow from AAA I got stranded in the middle of nowhere no gas station no service. I was on a country road with my two dogs. I didn't expect them to drive me anywhere but I also didn't expect them to leave me with out any place & it be unsafe. I asked if they could wait to take my car until my friend arrived the driver said No. He then proceeded to tell me to wait by the side of a country road with my dogs. I was not offered a ride to a gas station (they had to pass on the way to take my car). I called AAA back & the dispatcher who was very nice called and told me they could take my dogs in my car and transport me where I needed to go. Never did the driver say he could do any of this he just told me he was too busy to wait. The driver comes back and yelled at me because "you got me in trouble". I am not getting into a vehicle with an angry man who is now talking to me like he can square up. I highly doubt he would have had the same energy if I was a man or I let my dog attack him for his behavior. Needless to say this poor excuse for a man decided to yell at me spin his truck with my vehicle still attached. At that point I should have gotten the police involved because as I told the dispatcher I don't feel comfortable around your truck driver. Plus who knows what he would do to my vehicle when I wasn't around. The dispatcher did send someone out to make sure I was ok so I have to say some people who work for the company are good people. I was also told that they have cameras in the truck. Not to mention I had to pay extra for the service its not like it was all cover by AAA. If I had the option and the car was not in the middle of the road. I would have told the driver to leave immediately because he cause me more distress on top of an already bad day. Shame on you. How in the world did this company win a contract with AAA?! They are rude and honestly their employees are deceptive. My son was stranded and AAA dispatched this company. I call the number that was listed and I get someone who was obviously ASLEEP. He had the most combative behavior. I just wanted to provide my contact information because my sons phone was about to die. This man RICK couldn't tell me if the tow was on the way. He never asked for my information. I asked his name Lolol and he yelled lol RICK what's your name lol. I obviously interrupted his sleep because he was mad mad. He also told me that the text I received from AAA that said they were moments away wasn't correct lol. He said they should be to my son in 30 minutes because they have other customer calls before him. Now he did this without gathering any information from me lol. My husband and myself and my two young children were stranded on the side of Highway 70 for literally 5 1/2 hours In 100 degree weather. Why the owner(Shay) was throwing out the F bombs and literally was screaming at us on the phone calling us a liar, while her driver drove past us three times canceling picking us up. AAA contracts them out. I have her tow trucks on video passing us 2 times, with no cars on her trucks. After reading other reviews I told AAA if they ever contract that company out again I will cancel my 26 year membership with AAA. I also put reviews on Facebook about how horrible the Owner treated us while we were stranded on the side of the highway and she deleted all of the reviews. But then he raised the price without telling me. When I confronted him about it and asked to speak to his manager he told me to pay up or he was going to lock my car up at the tow yard and it would just cost me more money for questioning him. read more

Like LITERALLY less than 12 hours. I was also in the process of getting the title switched in my name so there were no plates on the car. These ppl literally drive around looking for cars to tow so they can charge an absurd price of $800 for me to come and get the car-on a car that is worth a couple of hundred of dollars. They say the police called it in but I had numerous ppl tell me one of their tow guy was circling the lot, ticketing as many cars as they can and what they do is turn around and report the vehicle as abandoned to the police, so they can say the police told them to pick it up and blame the police. This place is completely horrible I go in to get my car and the smell of dogs and poop made my stomach turn. Leave the dogs at home if your not going to bathe them probably it's was a smell of the depths of hell. I told the young lady at the counter it stinks in here and she acted like a said nothing. The lady at AAA said I did not have free towing and gave me this local company a-one towing to try and help. The lady told me I had an attitude, made it all about her, said she owned the company! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY PLEASE DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS TOWING COMPANY! !! These people are liars and criminals. November 28th i was hit by another vehicle and my car was totaled. I was taken to the hospital because i hit my head and i was bleeding. When i got out of the hospital i was informed my car was taken to A-one towing but i couldn't pick up my personal effects until Monday because they were closed. I was assured by the state trooper that worked my accident that i could pick my things up on Monday, however when my daddy and i got there we immediately got attitude from all of the employees. We told them why we were there but the refused to help us. I explained to Sha, the lady behind the counter that the state trooper had assured me that i could pick up my things that day and she replied to me that the trooper did not know the law or how they ran their business and that if i wanted to get my things i would have to pay them for their services which would cost me $370.00 . I told her that i didn't have that kind of money and she said that she couldn't help me because i only had liability insurance on my car. I begged her to at least let me get my work badge and winter coat out of my car as i needed my work badge to get paid and that coat was my only winter coat, and Sha replied that 'that's your problem not mine.' I did get upset and i asked her if she had any idea of what i had been through the last 48 hours and again she replied that that was my problem not hers. When they FINALLY agreed to at least let me see my car, they wouldn't let my dad go with me and the guy stood there hovering over me as i cried and attempted to take pictures of it. I opened my drivers side door to see inside and the guy standing there said to me 'hey you can't take anything outta there.' At that time my personal effects were in my car scattered everywhere and covered in broken glass. I took what pictures i could and left. The next thing i did was called the insurance company to get my car moved somewhere where i could get my things, but A-one kept claiming i had not given anyone permission to pick up my car for over a week and that's not true. It was only when the insurance company did a 3 way call with A-one and myself that they changed their tune and said 'oh that car has been released for over a week' .....so who's lying the insurance company or A-one?? Once my car was towed where i could get my things it was completely stipped. Everything i had in my car or on my car from my winter coat to work equipment right down to the license plates with new car tags gone!!!! So i called the police to file a report because i thought maybe someone broke into my car while it was at A-one because the other company showed me pictures of the car when they picked it up and again, there was nothing in the car. The police officer called and talked to Sha at A-one and she blamed the other towing company and said my things were still in the car and that they never touched my car. After waiting for the offer to investigate he finally told me that he called and spoke with Sha again and she DID ADMIT THAT THEY CLEANED THE BROKEN GLASS OUT OF MY CAR. But you see, they couldn't have cleared the glass without removing my things, soooo where are my things? They just magically disappeared? It's bad enough that my car was totaled because someone hit me, and i was hurt and taken to the hospital, but i trusted this place with my car because they gave me no choice because i live paycheck to paycheck, but they took my personal things. They stole my things, adding insult to injury. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt giving them a chance to tell me if my car was broken into, but they kept changing their story. I have several witnesses that can confirm the articles in my car at the time of the accident including the paramedics and state trooper, but A-one refuses to cooperate. I have turned them in to the BBB and the Attorney General and i will keep telling everyone i know DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE WITH YOUR CAR OR YOUR BUSINESS BECAUSE IF YOU DO I PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend everyone staying away from this company. I am with a local trucking company here in St.Louis and we had a tractor trailer rollover. The state trooper called out A-One Towing and we were given an estimated fee of $3,000. We requested that our vehicle and trailer be towed to one shop they recommended it be towed back to their yard. They convinced us to tow it back to their yard when they told us the total was going to be around $3,000 and that they would tow it where we wanted it in the morning. So when we went the next day to pay, the grand total of the bill was $9,150 and they refused to tow it to the shop that we requested. We had to call in another tow company to take it to our requested shop AND we had to use another of our tractors to retrieve our trailer and bring it back to our yard. After checking around, their fees are excessively higher than most, they are not friendly and they have 5 German Shepard's sitting in the office with them, one is definitely not friendly, he likes to growl. They are behind a short office wall...not very safe. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS! (Not worth the one star they make you give) read more

A1 has towed my car several times when my car has broken down. They are always prompt and polite. One of their drivers, Joel, is especially friendly. Joel called me when he was on his way and even arrived earlier then the estimated time. When he arrived, he helped me get into the cab of the tow truck before even getting started on my car. He drove carefully, obeyed all the traffic laws and even put my car into my driveway exactly where I requested. He even told me I could stay in the cab until he was finished unloading my car because it was cold outside. I highly recommend A1 Towing! read more

Had the best experience dealing with a breakdown today. My truck blew a heater valve and I lost all the antifreeze and truck started to get hot. I pulled to side of hwy 70 and called AAA. Within 15 minutes A-One Towing showed up and took my wife and I to the shop. They determined what it was and went to work fixing it. After I had paid and they were pulling the truck out the mechanic noticed a problem with the air conditioner vent controller and said he would fix it. I expected to pay for this repair as I knew that there was an issue but never took it to anyone because we are new to area and was wary about who to take it to. It was fixed and they did not charge me. Even though we live in Wentzville. I will continue to go to them for any work needed on my vehicles. Great service very professional. read more

Rude to people on the phone and in person. Avoid that lady in the office. Very snippy! Told us one $ amount on the phone, and when we get there and it's another $ and much higher. NO customer service skills at all. DO NOT use this location for any of your needs. STAY AWAY! Do they really need the 6 threatening dogs on site, during business hours in St. Peters, really? Worst part of the whole ordeal is the damage to the car from towing, and it was filthy dirty after just 2 days (they charged us 3) on their property....wow. NO business ethics at all.
