This shop was recommended so we decided to go with it. It's far from home and in a sketchy area, but I decided to have a little faith. They seemed great in the beginning, truly. They received my car on 8/25/26, started repairs and I got my car back today, 9/16/26. In the time they had my car, they've damaged the top passenger side where they were replacing both passenger doors. (I have photographic proof there was no damage PRIOR). The doors are not aligned. While driving, you hear the outside wind coming in. The wheel, which was on the estimate and paid for by my insurance, was not completed. They didn't align the trim, anywhere. The paint is a JOKE. It doesn't match either. Of course, any normal person would be upset. We were BEYOND upset and Chris who was handling everything, left early for the day per John because "he always does that and it must be nice". Well John, he's a joke of a man. I showed him everything, pointed it out and decided to say "I don't want to talk to you after how you acted inside" and went back to his pitiful desk to rip off the next victim. WELL IDGAFFFF you're entire shop is an embarrassment and it makes sense why you have no accreditations and !!!NUMEROUS!!! BBB complaints. So now, my car is in worse condition than ever and they don't care. To top it off, Chris stated, ON RECORDING "I'll waive your deductible as long as you don't burn me on my survey". Well buddy, consider yourself TOASTED because BBB, Missouri attorney general, lawsuits, and complaints are alllll coming your way pal. Lucky for this damsel in distress, a place called Shur-Way Auto Body exists to restore peace and goodness to the chaos this evil human being brought upon her world. So, in short... I had a hit and run. A car scratched my barely 6-month old 2019 Subaru Forester and I was devastated. I decided not to go through my insurance and the excellent reviews led me here. I walked in on a Monday (incident was on a Saturday night) around 9:30am but the guy who does their estimates was busy with another client. The lady at the front desk asked if I could come back in 30-45 minutes but as I was pressed for time and missed making an appointment, I asked her if there was an opening later that day at 3:30pm. She booked me and I came back later for my estimate. I was running a bit late due to traffic but they were very understanding (I called on my way). I got in around 3:37pm and Mike S walked out to my car to assess the damage. He gave me an estimate of $644.81 and said they needed 3 days to restore my damaged bumper as they would have to remove it, fix the damage, paint and make sure it's all the way dry. I told him I didn't have 3 days and he said they could do it in 2 but no less than that. I didn't even have to tell him the color, he knew from looking at my car that I have a pearl white paint on my Subaru. It's not a common white color which was my biggest concern but he assured me they can match it without a problem. The price sounded reasonable and I was set to get it fixed as the damage was slowly eating at my soul anyway so I made an appointment with them. They are pretty busy but I was able to book an appointment a week after my initial consultation. As I did not want to mess with insurance, I was able to decide right then and there that I wanted my car fixed by them. I did notice during our walk-through that the person who hit my car left a scuff on the passenger tail light as well. I pointed this out to Mike and he came out once more and confirmed then added a note to buff out the damage. He did not say it would cost me more but I had anticipated it would in the back of my mind. In the end, they didn't charge me for it and the scuff is gone! The day came for them to fix it. I dropped off my car at 8am without any issues and the next day, I got a call around 2:30pm that my car is ready. My bumper looks like no evil has befallen upon it and my spirits were lifted. During my check out, the lady explained that they stand by their work and gave me my warranty paper, instructions on how to care for my car in the next 2 months, receipt, and a reminder sticker that in February, I should bring my car back for a wash and wax. After leaving the place, I noticed they even vacuumed my car! Such a lovely gesture!!! They charged me the exact initial estimate I had gotten which was what I was already expecting. So far, I am happy with the work that they did. My SUV looks good as new again and I no longer have to stare at that ugly reminder that humans are horrible. As far as the shop goes, it's well-kept with friendly staff and a wonderful dog! If you or anyone you know are ever in need of an auto repair service, I highly recommend you try this place out. First, it took over 40 days to repair my car, which was far longer than I was originally led to expect. While the cosmetic work itself looks good, there were still issues with the vehicle that were never addressed. My alignment was not fixed, and I specifically mentioned a new noise that occurs when turning the steering wheel. Despite bringing it to their attention, nothing was done about it. Granted, I was informed they may not be able to do the alignment. However the noise from the wheel when I turn right? That needed to be addressed! What upset me the most was how I was treated by one of the employees. During our interaction, she repeatedly shushed me, spoke to me in an extremely rude and dismissive manner, and even put her hand in my face to try to stop me from talking. I've never experienced that level of disrespect from customer service before. I understand that difficult conversations happen, but there is no excuse for treating customers that way. Insurance paid for this repair, so I don't have a comment abt the value. However, for over $3,000 that insurance paid, I'd expect the problems to be fixed. The only positive thing I can say is that the visible repair work on the car looks good. Unfortunately, the poor communication, unresolved issues, and unprofessional behavior overshadowed that. I went to 3 other local shops for a quote and no one took care of me the way Freer did. Called the insurance of the person who hit me to get me answers, helped adjust my bumper before I left their lot to make it a bit better for me to drive (without me even asking, might I add). They used Carwise which texted me updates on timeline and estimates. Called me and coordinated with insurance/rental car like no other. My repair ended up taking about a week longer than expected. More damage was found but it was clearly communicated to me that it was possible, and they gave me an update each step. They even had an after hours pick up which worked perfect for my schedule. Left me a card and a beautiful rose (such as kind touch). My car was clean and shiny on the outside (sad it won't last long due to all the snow and salt) with the inside vacuumed and smelling great!
